Donald Trump Jr. is facing legal jeopardy in several jurisdictions, and reports are that his father is ready to offer him another family members up as the scapegoats for any crimes that may have taken place at the Trump Organization, so it’s safe to say that Junior is under more than a little stress these days.
That being said, you have to wonder: Why would someone who needs to lay low and consult his attorneys be posting videos online that appear to show him high as a kite and virtually unable to speak?
Whatever the motivation, take a look at this 29-second train wreck:
Is he high on drugs? Sure seems that way, though only he knows for sure. At times, it’s almost impossible to decipher what the ex-president’s son is even saying, though there is this line:
Yeah, things were so much better when we had a president who was beholden to Vladimir Putin and deferred to the Russian autocrat no matter the issue.
Junior’s bizarre video set off a wave of online mockery:
Georgia Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff took all he could take during a debate of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and slammed his Republican colleague, Susan Collins of Maine, accusing her of being a hypocrite when it comes to what she says versus what she does when it’s time to move legislation forward.
On Wednesday evening, shortly before Collins joined her GOP colleagues to keep a filibuster in place that prevented voting rights legislation from moving forward, Ossoff stood and excoriated Collins for voting to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act in 2006 but now shirking her responsibility to the memory of John Lewis:
It quickly became clear that Ossoff had struck a nerve, as Collins suggested the Georgian might have violated a rule that bans senators from imputing “to other Senators any conduct or motive unworthy or unbecoming a Senator.”
Collins also tried to suggest that the length of the John Lewis Act makes her unable to support it, which begs the question: Is Sen. Collins, at age 69, unable to read more than a page or two without dozing off?
Here’s what Collins said on the matter:
What a pathetic excuse for wimping out. But it shouldn’t surprise anyone because this is the very same Susan Collins who believed Brett Kavanaugh when he assured her would protect a woman’s right to choose. Now Kavanaugh and his five right-wing extremist buddies on the Supreme Court are preparing to render Roe v. Wade a thing of the past, leaving women unable to make their own reproductive choices.
So spare us the whining and outrage, Sen. Collins. You sold what was left of your soul a long time ago.
Something is terribly wrong with Arizona GOP Rep. Paul Gosar, and it goes way beyond his extremist right-wing political views and fondness for batshit crazy conspiracy theories.
Gosar was one of the speakers at failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump’s rally in Florence, Arizona, on Saturday evening, but when the congressman began speaking, his head swayed back and forth and he was unable to complete some of his sentences. Take a look:
That’s not just sad, it’s pathetic.
Granted, it’d be tempting to say that karma is catching up with Gosar, but many who saw the video couldn’t help but express concern for him, which is something he’s never done for anyone else. After all, this is the same Paul Gosar who posted an anime video of him killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and President Joe Biden back in November.
Here’s some of the reaction to Gosar’s bizarre behavior:
During a Senate hearing Tuesday on the U.S. response to COVID-19, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases made it clear that he has only so much patience when it comes to explaining things to Republicans who refuse to accept facts.
Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) was questioning Fauci and asked if he planned to public disclose his financial investments.
Fauci told the senator that his his financial disclosures have been available to the public for decades:
Rather than accept the reply and move on, Marshall made a snide remark:
Clearly getting frustrated, Fauci said:
Again, Marshall pressed even though the question had been answered not once, but TWICE, saying he wondered what “shenanigans” Fauci was hiding in his finances.
Fauci told Marshall yet again:
As Marshall’s time expired, Fauci could be heard saying under his breath:
There’s something terribly wrong with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), and that’s not the set up for a punch line.
DeSantis was speaking to a group of people recently about manufacturing in the Sunshine State, but as you’ll notice in the video, he seems to be having trouble breathing. Matter of fact, he appears to be gasping for air and on the verge of tears at one point. Take a look:
You may recall that the Florida governor went missing for two weeks. When he finally made a public appearance, a combative DeSantins told reporters he’d accompanied his wife for treatment of her cancer:
The larger problem, however, is that DeSantis pulled a Houdini right as cases of COVID-19 were exploding across Florida and members of his administration tried desperately to pretend everything was under control.
So the video of the governor trying to breathe was certain to set off a lot of controversy and commentary on social media, where people wondered if perhaps DeSantis had contracted a case of coronavirus but didn’t want to let anyone know.
