Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) got very upset when Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) questioned him about a tweet sent out on October 7 from the account of Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee and proceeded to have a meltdown that was captured by C-SPAN.
Swalwell asked Jordan if he would repudiate failed former president Donald Trump for saying that parts of the U.S. Constitution should be “terminated” and him returned to the presidency.
Jordan replied that Trump had “clarified” those demands, even though the ex-president has yet to stop saying that he won the 2020 election.
But when Swalwell brought up the October tweet, Jordan lost it.
Here’s the tweet, which was later deleted:
Confronted with the tweet, Jordan exclaimed, “That tweet was not on our account. That tweet was removed.”
Actually, the tweet was on the House Judiciary GOP’s Twitter account for weeks and only vanished after West made blatantly anti-Semitic comments and praised Adolf Hitler.
The tweet was on the account of Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee. Jordan, as the ranking Republican on the committee, controls that account and what gets posted on it.

Shortly after it became clear on Tuesday evening that Georgia GOP Senate candidate Herschel Walker had lost to incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock (D), Walker’s son, Christian, went on Twitter and eviscerated his father in a series of postings.
Walker, who had been enthusiastically endorsed by disgraced, one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump, came up almost 3 points short of Warnock, with the AP reporting that the former football star took 48.6% of the ballots cast. Warnock won 51.4% of the total vote.
Christian Walker had initially supported his father’s bid for the Senate, Mediaite notes:
But in early October, as news broke of reported abortions paid for by his father and accusations of abuse surfaced about his father, Christian broke his silence and condemned the GOP and Trump for selecting a candidate that was, in his opinion, so flawed as a father that he could not serve dutifully in Senate.
Christian Walker celebrated his father’s loss, reminding him of all the accusations against him.
“Don’t beat women, hold guns to peoples heads, fund abortions then pretend your pro-life, stalk cheerleaders, leave your multiple minor children alone to chase more fame, lie, lie, lie, say stupid crap, and make a fool of your family.. And then maybe you can win a senate seat.”
“Don’t compare Warnock running over his wife’s foot to my father holding guns and knives to my mothers throat, threatening to kill his therapist, her, and one of his adultresses in a therapy session, and telling my mom and I he was going to beat our asses. Get off my page.”
In a tweet sent late Saturday, Ye said he would soon go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE,” according to internet archive records. That’s an apparent reference to the U.S. military readiness condition scale known as DEFCON.
West’s Twitter account was restricted after that posting, and Twitter CEO Elon Musk said he had spoken with the rapper.
Took it to heart, did he, Elon? Then perhaps the Tweeter-in-Chief can explain what Kanye told Alex Jones today on his show:
“Well, I see good things about Hitler, also. I love everyone. The Jewish people are not going to tell me, you know, you can love us and you can love what we’re doing to you with the contracts and you can love what we’re pushing with the pornography.”
Musk loves to say that he believes in “free speech” on social media and intends for Twitter to be the ultimate platform for that free discussion of ideas. And apparently that now includes anti-Semitism, blatant racism, hate speech, and lots of other disgusting expressions that are perfectly acceptable on Twitter.
So that means Musk has to hear what other Twitter users think about his counseling session with Kanye West, which clearly didn’t do a damn bit of good.
Yes, the guy who said he loves Hitler just needed a pep talk from the transphobic, penis rocket, combustible car guy. He’s good now. Why didn’t anyone think of this sooner?

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails has had quite enough of Twitter under the rule of new owner Elon Musk and has decided to leave the platform because it has become a “toxic environment.”
“We don’t need the arrogance of the billionaire class to feel like they can just come in and solve everything. Even without [Musk] involved, I just find that it has become such a toxic environment. For my mental health, I need to tune out. I don’t feel good being there anymore.”
That’s certainly fair and Reznor has every right to 86 whatever he feels isn’t in his own best interest. More and more people are deleting their Twitter accounts, which should have Musk worried because the number of users directly impacts his ad revenue, which the social media platform badly needs to help pay off the $44 billion Musk spent to acquire Twitter in October.
Rather than respect Reznor’s decision, however, Musk decided he’d attack the musician.
That led to an immediate reaction from some of Reznor’s fans, one of whom called Musk out, which elicited another snarky reaction from the billionaire.
But Musk got more than he bargained for, with actor Wil Wheaton posting a lengthy diatribe aimed squarely at the Twitter CEO in which he accused him of being an insecure and arrogant child.
“I can not fathom the emptiness, the insecurity, the insatiable need for attention and validation, the staggering arrogance, the malevolence and total void of human experience that is Elon Musk.
He’s the richest man on the planet. You can’t go anywhere or do anything without interacting with something he’s part of in some way. There are literal millions of people who uncritically worship him, in spite of overwhelming evidence that he’s a douchebag. Some number of them will come after me, as they come after anyone who points at their naked emperor. They’ll spend entire days going after me and people like me, slavishly serving a man who does not even know they exist. They are his army of fools, uncritically serving his every whim. And it still isn’t enough.
He can have any material thing he wants, and he will *never* be happy or satisfied. He has no real friends. Every single person around him is either a viper, a parasite, or both.
So what does he do? He bullies and threatens and harasses and trolls and behaves like the weak, scared, insecure child he has always been. That’s a tragedy for him, but it’s dangerous for us. He doesn’t care what he destroys or who he hurts as he chases this existential thing he can not ever have.
You know the saying “hurt people hurt people”? He’s a hurt person who is hurting our society, making people I care about less safe. The consequences of this one man’s midlife crisis are global, and that terrifies me.
Rock star Jack White has left Twitter and has a message for the site’s CEO, Elon Musk, who purchased the social media giant in October of last year for $44 billion.
White’s move comes in response to Musk’s reinstatement of the Twitter account belonging to disgraced, one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump.
“Absolutely disgusting, Elon. That is officially an asshole move.”
White added that he believed Musk was “trying to help a fascist have a platform so you can eventually get your tax breaks.”
Making it clear that he’s a “believer in free speech,” but would never “let the KKK hold a rally at our record label’s performance stage.”
“That’s one of the platforms we control and have a say in, it’s not town square operated by the government,” White explained. “And if I owned a gas station, I wouldn’t be selling the KKK gasoline to burn crosses either and then wash my hands as if I didn’t help facilitate hatred.
“You took on a big responsibility with your purchase, and ‘free speech’ isn’t some umbrella that protects you from that.”
White acknowledged that he had worked with Musk in the past when it came to Tesla Motors, but suggested the entrepreneur is using his money to “promote horrible, violence-inducing liars who are taking the country and the world backwards and endangering the democracy that made you rich and successful in the first place.”
Recent reports suggest that Twitter has descended into complete disarray as Musk makes deep cuts to the site’s staff and continues to lose massive sums of money as advertisers abandon the platform.
