Nancy Pelosi Emasculates Trump About Appearing Before Jan. 6 Committee: ‘He’s Not Man Enough’

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) cut failed, one-term former president Donald Trump to the bone on Sunday, saying he’s “not man enough” to actually appear before the House Select Committee investigating the January 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection in response to a subpoena from the committee.

During an interview with MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart, Pelosi was first asked about Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) remarks this week that she will be given more “power” if House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) becomes Speaker after the midterm elections.

Pelosi said she remains confident that Democrats will keep control of both houses of Congress, and gave Greene the back of her hand by referring to her as “What’s-her-name.”

When asked about Trump showing up and being sworn to tell the truth before the 1/6 committee, Pelosi laughed and responded:

“I don’t think he is man enough to show up. I don’t think that his lawyers will want him to show up, because he has to testify under oath. But I don’t think he is man enough, –we will see if he is man enough to show up and the public can make their judgment.

“No one is above the law! If we believe that, then they should make a judgment about how he responds to that request.”

Reportedly, Trump has discussed testifying before the committee with his aides, but only if he’s allowed to do so on live television, according to Business Insider:

Former President Donald Trump has told aides he might comply with a subpoena to testify before the Jan. 6 committee, as long as he can do so live, The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman reported.

According to Haberman, Trump has told aides he’s not opposed to the idea of testifying before the committee, as long as it’s on his terms.

The information was a contribution by Haberman to The Times’s live coverage of Thursday’s committee hearing.

Some of his aides appear not to be enthusiastic about the idea.

What are the chances that Trump goes against advice and testifies? There’s a better chance the Easter Bunny will be delivering gifts in place of Santa Claus this Christmas.

Infantile Trump Has A Social Media Meltdown After The 1/6 Committee Subpoenas Him

It’s been an especially crappy day for disgraced, one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump.

First, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear his appeal for an intervention on the special master appointed to look at documents seized from Mar-a-Lago in August.

An order from the high court was handed down that read:

“The application to vacate the stay entered by the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit on September 21, 2022, presented to Justice [Clarence] Thomas and by him referred to the Court is denied.”

Even his old buddy Clarence Thomas couldn’t save him.

Later in the afternoon, the House Select Committee investigating the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol voted unanimously to subpoena the ex-president for testimony regarding his role in the insurrection.

According to The Washington Post:

The House committee investigating the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, voted Thursday to subpoena testimony and documents from former president Donald Trump, a dramatic culmination of its year-and-a-half-long investigation, and a sign that the committee wants to continue its work beyond this Congress.

This is a question about accountability to the American people,” Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.) said ahead of the vote. “He must be accountable.”

The unanimous vote came at the end of a meeting that also revealed new details about warnings from the Secret Service that armed supporters of Trump would go to the Capitol, with one agent describing that morning as the “calm before the storm.”

That was all it took to trigger Donnie in a major way. But since he’s banned from Twitter and Facebook, he had to settle for a meltdown on his failing Truth Social site, which is reportedly on the verge of a complete financial collapse.

“Why didn’t the Unselect Committee ask me to testify months ago? Why did they wait until the very end, the final moments of their last meeting? Because the Committee is a total “BUST” that has only served to further divide our Country which, by the way, is doing very badly – A laughing stock all over the World?”

That was followed by this one:

“The Unselect Committee knowingly failed to examine the massive voter fraud which took place during the 2020 Presidential Election – The reason for what took place on January 6th.”

And that was followed by an attempt to blame others for Jan. 6, even though he and his ragtag bunch of would-be revolutionaries are the ones solely responsible for what took place:

“Why didn’t Crazy Nancy Pelosi call out the ‘troops’ before January 6th, which I strongly recommended that she do. It was her responsibility, but she ‘didn’t like the look.’ Crazy Nancy failed the American People!”

He’s scared. He realizes everything is falling apart.

Grand Jury Subpoena Proves Trump Is ‘The Target’ Of A Criminal Probe Into January 6

A grand jury subpoena issued to former Trump administration attorney Eric Herschmann requesting documents and testimony is proof that ex-president Donald Trump is now “the target” of a federal criminal probe into the January 6 Capitol insurrection, according to a prosecutor who spent decades putting white collar criminals behind bars.

Politico broke news of the subpoena, with reporter Betsy Woodruff Swan noting:

Herschmann represented Donald Trump in the former president’s first impeachment trial and later joined the White House as a senior adviser. He did not work in the White House counsel’s office, but did provide Trump with legal advice. Because of that responsibility, there will likely be litigation over the scope of the subpoena and over how executive and attorney-client privileges may limit Herschmann’s ability to comply.

Herschmann is a key figure who was witness to many of the happenings inside the Trump administration prior to and after the Capitol was attacked on Jan. 6:

During the tumultuous final weeks of Trump’s term, Herschmann clashed with other aides and advisers who pushed the defeated president to fight the election results. He was also present for many of the most consequential meetings in that period of time. Among them was a high-stakes meeting where most of the Trump Justice Department’s top brass threatened to resign rather than work under a colleague who wanted to advance spurious claims of widespread voter fraud.

Herschmann also sparred with Sidney Powell and Michael Flynn when they urged Trump to have the military seize voting machines. The Jan. 6 select committee has aired numerous portions of his testimony to their panel, which is blunt and sometimes darkly amusing.

The Politico report prompted a response from Andrew Weissmann, who spent 20 years at the Justice Department and was one of the key investigators for Special Counsel Robert Mueller during the Russia investigation. Weissmmann weighed in on Twitter in reference to Swan’s article:

“No question now that Trump is the target of the federal 1/6 probe. And correct move here: Lock people into the GJ.”

The key words in Weissmann’s tweet are “the target” because it means that prosecutors and the grand jury they have impaneled believe Trump is the prime suspect who is under investigation and most likely to be indicted if the evidence supports such a move. In other words, the ex-president is the reason the grand jury is meeting in the first place and the focus of their attention.

All of this comes three weeks after the FBI served a search warrant at the former president’s residence at Mar-a-Lago. That warrant was to gather evidence which may support other indictments of Trump for violating the Espionage Act and obstruction of justice.

Just when Donald thought things couldn’t possibly get any worse, they did.

House Dems Consider Using Sergeant-At-Arms To Arrest Those Defying Subpoenas From Jan. 6 Committee

With the Justice Department seeming to slow-walk criminal referrals sent from the House Select Committee on the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection for those who have refused to comply with subpoenas for the committee, Democrats are now looking closely at an alternative way to enforce the power of their subpoenas.

According to Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA), it may be time to go back to having the House Sergeant-at-Arms detain anyone who defies a subpoena.

During an appearance on MSNBC Monday, Connolly explained how the process would work:

“So we used to have a process, until 1930, from the beginning of the republic to 1930, in which Congress enforced its own compulsory testimonies. That meant that, if necessary, we sent the Sergeant-at-Arms… and arrested people and detained them until the cooperated with the congressional subpoena.”

Keep in mind the DOJ has yet to move on the criminal referral for contempt of Congress that was issued against former Trump administration aide Steve Bannon. That referral was made on October 20, and yet Bannon still walks free.

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace asked Connolly if he’d “seen enough” of the DOJ’s lack of action when it comes to indicting Bannon. The congressman replied:

“I think the Justice Department takes too long. And I think the courts take too long.”

There’s an old expression most of us have probably heard since we were children: Justice delayed is justice denied. That could not be more true in the case of what transpired at the Capitol on Jan. 6. The longer we are forced to wait for answers, the longer it will take to punish those responsible and formulate solutions to make sure such a horrific thing never takes place again in this country.

Here’s Congressman Connolly on MSNBC:
