Fox News Bans Matt And Mercedes Schlapp From Its Airwaves As Groping Allegation Causes More Fallout

Matt Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union and his wife, Mercedes, are apparently now banned from the airwaves at Fox News, the latest major fallout from allegations that Matt groped and sexually assaulted a staffer who worked for the failed Senate campaign of 2022 Republican nominee Herschel Walker.

According to Mediaite, neither Matt or Mercedes have appeared on Fox since the allegations first surfaced earlier this month.

Since the … story broke, Matt and Mercedes, who were regulars on Fox News and Fox Business, have disappeared from the air. Mercedes, who served in former President Donald Trump’s White House and on his unsuccessful 2020 campaign, was last on the air the morning of Jan. 6, while Matt hasn’t appeared on either network since Jan. 4.

Fox has yet to cover the groping allegation. The network did not respond to a request for comment on the absence of the Schlapps from the air.

The Daily Beast was first to report on what allegedly transpired between Matt Schlapp and the Walker staffer.

A staffer for Herschel Walker’s Senate campaign has alleged to The Daily Beast that longtime Republican activist Matt Schlapp made “sustained and unwanted and unsolicited” sexual contact with him while the staffer was driving Schlapp back from an Atlanta bar this October.

The staffer said the incident occurred the night of Oct. 19, when Schlapp, chair of the American Conservative Union and lead organizer for the influential Conservative Political Action Conference, “groped” and “fondled” his crotch in his car against his will after buying him drinks at two different bars.

The staffer described Schlapp, who had traveled to Georgia for a Walker campaign event, as inappropriately and repeatedly intruding into his personal space at the bars. He said he was also keenly aware of his “power dynamic” with Schlapp, widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in national conservative politics.

Schlapp as repeatedly denied he did anything improper and CPAC will continue to be held in March, though it remains unclear if he will be in attendance.

Hysterical Right-Wingers Say Photos Of The First Couple Prove Jill Biden Is Actually President

In their latest attempt to undermine President Joe Biden, right-wingers are claiming that a series of four photos showing the president and First Lady Jill Biden talking to each other are proof that she’s actually the one running the country.

Yep, you read that correctly: Four photos are all the conservative dunces need for their latest conspiracy theory.

The photos were shared online by Jake Schneider, who just so happens to be a member of what’s known as the GOP Rapid Response team. Translation: The Republican hit squad who take everything out of context and never miss an opportunity to take a cheap shot at anyone they disagree with.

Here’s Schneider’s tweet:

The Bidens have been married for 45 years, and for readers who are or have been married, it’s safe to assume that you never agreed with your spouse 100% of the time and that you had more than your share of spats. If you say you didn’t, then you’re either being dishonest or your marriage was so vapid and loveless that you can’t tell the difference between fictional marital bliss and what a real marriage looks like.

As you’d expect, other right-wing dupes on social media were only too happy to join the debate and suggest that we’re living in sad times based on four photos taken completely out of context.

US ‘Freedom Convoy’ Fails Miserably – Disbands When Only 5 Trucks Show Up For Protest

After seeing what transpired in Canada recently, the organizers of what was billed as the “US Freedom Convoy” had very high hopes.

The plan was for American truck drivers to roll into Washington, D.C. just in time for President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address on Tuesday and shut down the nation’s capital as a way of protesting COVID restrictions and other issues that many on the political right constantly whine and moan about.

But The Independent reports that when only five big rigs showed up at a meeting point in Las Vegas, the truckers dispersed and went their separate ways because their grandiose plans fizzled out before they even got to the District of Columbia:

A convoy of truckers who were heading from California to Washington DC for Joe Biden’s State of the Union (SOTU) address have been told to find another protest fleet after theirs fell apart before its first stop.

Organisers of the “US Freedom Convoy” – which had been expecting up to 2,000 truckers prior to its departure from Los Angeles on Friday – disbanded the caravan and cancelled all associated rallies on Saturday after only five rigs arrived in Las Vegas.

“To prevent another rally without our truckers – our team will not be moving thru Salt Lake City and Denver,” organisers wrote in an update following the disappointing turnout in Sin City.

Damn! They expected 2,000 and got a measly five? That’s one hell of a failure.

It didn’t take long before recriminations began online, with many noting they wound up looking like fools for being a part of such a massive letdown:

“I spent days trying to coordinate a rally in support of our truckers,” wrote one Facebook user. “I have three tiny kids and work a full-time job and stretched myself thin then made myself look so stupid. I’m pretty hurt by all this.”

Wow! You mean some right-wing asshats took advantage of people so they could grift and get attention for their bogus “cause?” Sounds a lot like a failed, one-term former president who goes by the name Donald Trump.

Clueless Conservatives Got Duped Into Honoring Lee Harvey Oswald On Memorial Day

You probably didn’t notice because you were busy with your own activities on Memorial Day, but it turns out that conservatives proved yet again just how ignorant they are of history when several well-known right-wingers got duped into celebrating the military service of Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who assassinated President John F. Kennedy.

It all began when Ken Klippenstein a reporter for The Intercept sent a photo of Oswald as a young private first class in the U.S. Marines along with this note:

“My grandpa’s a big fan of yours and is a veteran, he would be thrilled if you could RT this photo of him for Memorial Day.”

The list of those who fell for the prank includes Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Matt Schlapp of the American Conservative Union, and hack documentarian/convicted felon Dinesh D’Souza.

In short order, Lee Harvey Oswald began trending on Twitter:
