Ex-Prosecutor: Jordan May Be ‘In League’ With FBI Informant Busted For Russia Ties

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) may be part of a larger conspiracy to spread Russian lies about President Joe Biden as part of a campaign to benefit Donald Trump, according to former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner.

Speaking with MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin, Kirschner was asked about the recent arrest of Alexander Smirnov, who was taken into custody after being accused of lying to the FBI.

“Were the Republicans in league or incompetent?” Kirschner asked. “It’s one or the other. And here’s the thing. There’s a lot to dislike, sort of every link of the chain here. First of all, the FBI writes down lots of things that human informants and confidential informants say. That doesn’t mean it is necessarily true. Yes, they record it in a form, 1023, but they write it down. It doesn’t mean it’s verified, it doesn’t mean it’s accurate, it doesn’t mean it’s reliable. Once they receive it, they have to go about the hard work of corroborating it, or debunking it. And it sounds like the FBI never corroborated, and indeed, ultimately debunked this disinformation.”

Kirschner added:

“So why this debunked Russian disinformation would then be handed off to Republican members of Congress to be used as the basis to impeach an American president is mystifying, Ayman. And look, let’s use Jim Jordan as an example. You played a clip of him appearing to double down, even though he now knows it’s Russian disinformation, and Smirnov has been indicted for lying to the FBI about the Bidens. Jim Jordan is a serial abuser of his position and his authority. This is the guy who refused to comply with a lawfully issued congressional subpoena because had he complied and testified he might have incriminated Donald Trump.”

Everywhere you look, the GOP has ties to Russia and Russian propaganda which they have tried to use to destroy President Joe Biden and boost Donald Trump. Is it really so hard to believe the Kremlin owns and controls them?

Comer And Jordan Are In Deep Sh*t – Could Be Facing Criminal Charges

Now that their bogus impeachment inquiry has been exposed as little more than a political stunt, Reps. James Comer (R-KY) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) may soon find themselves under investigation and charged with crimes for using witness testimony from a Russian agent in their zeal to damage President Joe Biden.

Mary Trump, the niece of failed one-term former president Donald Trump, notes on Substack that Comer and Jordan appear to have known from the beginning that their allegations against Biden were nothing but lies.

“It’s becoming increasingly clear that the sham impeachment of President Joe Biden was a sham from beginning to ignominious end, as it appears much of the information upon which it was based originated from the Kremlin,” she writes.

The ex-president’s niece adds that she recently spoke with an attorney friend who told her Comer and Jordan are in “deep shit.”

Additionally, Mary points to comments made by New York State assistant attorney general Tristan Snell, who says Comer and Jordan were “duped by Smirnov and the Kremlin — or they were in on it.”

The final result could be censure or criminal charges, she concludes.

“I would say it’s hard to think of any other Republicans in Congress more deserving, but the truth is it would be extremely easy to come up with dozens of them.”

Why do Comer, Jordan, and others in the GOP seem to always rely on Russia as the foundation for the bullshit they throw at their opponents? Why does Donald Trump constantly praise Russian president/war criminal Vladimir Putin? Is the Republican Party completely compromised by our enemies? And if so, how can this danger be dealt with?

Ted Cruz And Jim Jordan Could Be Toast If SCOTUS Rules Trump Is An Insurrectionist

As failed one-term former president Donald Trump waits to see what happens with the U.S. District Court of Appeals for Washington, D.C. regarding whether or not he can legally be removed from the ballot in the upcoming election, there are two other key Republicans who are also wondering what could happen to them if the Supreme Court winds up taking the case and rules that Trump is indeed an insurrectionist.

Those two members of the GOP are Rep. Jim Jordan (OH) and Sen. Ted Cruz (TX), according to an illuminating article from MSNBC opinion writer and editor Hayes Brown.

Brown notes that over 200 members of Congress signed on to an amicus brief that supports Trump.

While the GOP lawmakers’ amicus brief is better drafted than most of Trump’s filings, it can’t be ignored that there’s a deeply self-serving element to their arguments. That’s especially true for those members who, under the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling, could also credibly be described as having ‘engaged in insurrection’ — and thus theoretically be disqualified from holding office.

The deepest fears of federal elected officials such as Cruz and Jordan can be found in one specific section of the brief, which pulls the curtain back on what everyone who played a role in January 6 fears most, Brown adds.

The self-interested lawmakers give up the game with this line from the brief: ‘Although not directly relevant to President Trump, the Colorado Supreme Court would give itself the power to judge the qualifications of those who would be elected to the House or Senate.’ That would be especially troubling for Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs of Arizona. The three of them were knee-deep in plotting to overturn the election, and, in a more just world, they would have faced expulsion for violating Section 3. It’s their inclusion as signatories on the amicus brief that makes this filing particularly odious.

Cruz was one of the prime figures who urged others in the GOP to join the brief.

The members who directly aided Trump’s efforts are especially interested in this case, but the effort to file the brief was led in the House by Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., and in the Senate by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas. Cruz’s participation is worth a side-eye given that he led the charge among Senate Republicans in challenging electoral votes in states where Trump called President-elect Joe Biden’s victory fraudulent. He also pitched a 10-day electoral commission to investigate the nonexistent fraud and potentially give state legislatures time to change their electoral slates as Trump would prefer. He never endorsed Trump’s wildest conspiracy theories, but he was caught on audio hoping Biden’s win would be reversed.

So if the Supreme Court decides that Trump can be removed from ballots, Cruz, Jordan, and others who took part in the plot to overturn the 2020 election could soon find they’ve been excluded from running or serving in any federal post, too. And that would be devastating to the GOP, which is quickly becoming known as the party of insurrection.

WATCH: Jim Jordan Looks For The Exit When MT Greene Brings Up ‘Sex Trafficking’ By Hunter Biden

Things got incredibly uncomfortable for Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) during a press conference that was hastily called by House Republicans after Hunter Biden refused to testify before a committee despite being subpoenaed to do so.

Biden said he would testify, but only in public session, an offer which was refused by members of the GOP.

After Rep. James Comer (R-KY) told reporters that a loan repayment from Hunter Biden to his father, President Joe Biden, appeared less-than-kosher, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) raised the issue of sexual trafficking by the president’s son.

“I would like to have asked Hunter Biden about… sex trafficking women across state lines!” Greene insisted.

Jordan, who appeared shaken by Greene’s remarks, immediately ended the press conference.

“Thank you very much,” he said as he turned and walked away.

Greene continued to speak in Jordan’s direction: “That would have been a good question but you don’t seem to care about that!”

Video of the press conference quickly went viral and drew plenty of commentary on Twitter.

Liz Cheney: Jim Jordan Was One Of The ‘Masterminds’ Of Jan. 6 And Has ‘Something To Hide’

Though we’ve known for nearly three years that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was in phone contact with former president Donald Trump on January 6, 2021 as the U.S. Capitol was being attacked by Trump supporters, it remains unclear exactly what role Jordan may have played in organizing the protests that took place that fateful day.

Now, however, a former colleague of Jordan’s, Liz Cheney, is suggesting that she believes the Ohio Republican was one of the “masterminds” behind Jan. 6.

Appearing on “Deadline: White House” to discuss her new book, Cheney was asked about Jordan.

“I think that there’s no question he has — that Jim Jordan has something to hide, probably a lot to hide,” Cheney remarked. “If you go back and you look at the phone records as well as what he’s said himself about his discussions and his conversations with Donald Trump on the 6. There’s a very significant role he played in the lead-up to that. He was clearly one of the masterminds in terms of helping to facilitate Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the election.”

Cheney added that Jordan’s steadfast refusal to comply with a subpoena from the House Select Committee investigating the 2020 election and Jan. 6 is also highly suspicious.

“So, you have to imagine that he’s doing everything he can to help Donald Trump, to do Donald Trump’s bidding. And I think that he has so many questions of his own to answer that people just need to go back and look at the record. Look at how confused he’s been when people have pushed him on what did you say to Donald Trump. When did you talk to him on the 6th? What was your role in all of this? Did you make a request for pardons? But he’s very clearly at the heart of what was an attempt to seize power and overturn an election.”

Does that mean Jordan has “criminal exposure?” host Nicolle Wallace asked. Cheney replied, “He has a lot of questions to answer.”

In time, perhaps Special Counsel Jack Smith will take a long hard look at Jordan and others in Congress who may have played a role in Jan. 6 and the attempt to overturn the 2020 election. Until then, we can always hope that Smith succeeds in obtaining guilty verdicts against Donald Trump.
