Mitch McConnell Admits That Biden’s Infrastructure Bill Is A ‘Godsend’

Even though he has vowed to obstruct President Joe Biden at every turn, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is praising the president for the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that passed Congress last week, with McConnell calling it a “godsend.”

According to The Hill, McConnell made his remarks in his home state:

(McConnell noted) the Bluegrass State has “a lot” of infrastructure needs after touring a facility for indoor farming company AppHarvest, according to CBS News affiliate WKYT.

He pointed to Kentucky’s infrastructure report card from the American Society of Civil Engineers, which gives it a C-minus.

“I’m surprised we even got a C,” McConnell told WKYT. “We have a lot of infrastructure needs, both in rural areas and with big bridges. It’s a godsend for Kentucky.”

That didn’t sit well with failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump, who attacked McConnell and other Republicans who voted in favor of the infrastructure package, suggesting they had succeeded in “granting a two month stay which allowed the Democrats time to work things out at our Country’s, and the Republican Party’s, expense!”

The real reason for Trump’s anger, however, it due to the fact that during his four years in office, the only significant legislation he managed to get through Congress was a massive tax cut for the richest Americans. His administration repeatedly hinted there would be infrastructure legislation during his presidency, but never put forth any proposals, as the ex-president was far too busy trying to extort our allies in Ukraine and kiss the ass of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump is well aware that he will go down in history as the worst president this country has ever elected. That’s why he keeps teasing a run in 2024. But the chances of him actually running are minimal. He’s far too busy trying to stay out of prison and bilk his moronic supporters out of money he can use to defend himself and keep his failing business afloat.

GOP Rep. Paul Gosar Posts Horrific Anime Video Of Him Killing President Biden And AOC

Even among the pack of extremist idiots who populate the right-wing of the Republican Party, Rep. Paul Gosar (AZ) stands out as one of the most disgusting and deplorable GOPers to be found anywhere.

Gosar has ties to several white supremacist groups, and is so unhinged that even his siblings have said he needs to be removed from Congress ASAP.

Today, Gosar has once again stepped way over the line by posting a video on Twitter which shows him killing both President Joe Biden and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Jon Skolnik of Salon reports:

The tweeted video – which he captioned, “Any anime fans out there?” – opens with Gosar’s name under Japanese text that reads “attack of immigrants,” an apparent reference to the anime show “Attack on the Titan” from which the Republican pulled various clips.

The video then goes on to show footage of immigrants at the southern border, overlaying the footage with anime-style special effects and crosscutting with interstitials that read “drugs, crime, poverty, money, gangs, violence” and “trafficking.”

But it’s what happens next that’s so incredibly disturbing and should garner Gosar attention from both the Secret Service and FBI.

About midway into the video, “Attack on the Titan main character Eren Yaeger is shown in a mashup of clips with Gosar’s face photoshopped onto the cartoon character. Swords in both hands, the fictionalized Gosar scales a European-esque urban landscape alongside cartoon versions of Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and Lauren Bobert, R-Colo., until slaying what appears to be a titan with Ocasio-Cortez’s face photoshopped onto it.

Toward the end, the cartoon Gosar is shown leaping into the air with his blades unsheathed moments before striking the photoshopped head of President Joe Biden.

The very idea of such a video is proof-positive that Republicans like Gosar have given up trying to debate ideas and explain where they disagree with their political opponents. Instead, they plot coups by attacking the Capitol and calling for a sitting vice president to be hanged.

Gosar should be charged with threatening the life of the president and a member of Congress. The Justice Department should insist that he be prosecuted. If he’s allowed to get away with this sort of threat, then it’s only a matter of time before we see more violence in the city that just so happens to be the seat of American government.

Ted Cruz Attacked Biden For Going On ‘Vacation’ – That Was A Cancun-Sized Mistake

Ted Cruz may well be the least self-aware person in all of Washington, and as a result he continually tries to attack others on social media but only winds up owning himself in absolutely humiliating fashion.

This time, Cruz saw a tweet online from the GOP that chided President Joe Biden for going on “vacation,” which is not exactly the proper word for the president going back to his home state of Delaware for the long Columbus Day weekend.

What the GOP didn’t mention are the endless golfing vacations failed former President Donald Trump took and charged taxpayers for. Trump played more golf in four years than Arnold Palmer did in his entire life.

Trying desperately to attach his name to the GOP tweet, Cruz thought he’d attempt a jab at President Biden while also sliding in a bit of self-deprecating ribbing for himself.

You probably recall that back in February, as the state of Texas was suffering under a terrible winter storm, Cruz and his family boarded a flight for the Mexican resort. Cruz later blamed the entire thing on his children.

But he can’t blame anyone but himself for the online payback he got for his posting:

Next time you’re tempted to tweet, Ted, stick your head up your ass instead. Oh, never mind; I see it’s permanently implanted there.

Ted Cruz’s Latest Disgusting ‘Joke’ Is Getting Him Pilloried On Social Media

Even though he has absolutely no sense of humor and is universally disliked by in the U.S. Senate, even by his Republican colleagues, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is fond of attempting to troll people on Twitter, even though his trolling almost always comes back to bite him squarely on his fat ass.

Cruz’s latest failed attempt at humor deals with a NASCAR race that took place over the weekend.

According to Deadline:

NBC NASCAR reporter Kelli Stavast is either hard of hearing, or a very, very quick thinker.

While interviewing driver Brandon Brown on Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama after he won his first NASCAR Xfinity Series race, Stavast had to deal with an unruly crowd. The racing fans, sensing the live cameras, broke into what’s fast becoming a popular chant at college football games in the south and midwest. The populist commentary involves President Joe Biden.

Stavast bravely soldiered on despite the obvious disruption. As an emotional Brown struggled to be heard above the crowd’s din, she interjected. “As you can hear the chants from the crowd, ‘Let’s go, Brandon.’”

Fans and Americans in general can offer any commentary they want regarding whoever happens to be president. They can even be profane when they do so. It’s one of the beautiful things about living in a country where we have freedom of speech and the right to say pretty much anything we want about our elected representatives.

And so Sen. Cruz thought he’d try to get in on the fun, but the way he did so ended up sounding churlish, mean-spirited, and undignified:

Funny? Not really. But humor is subjective, so maybe the MAGA faithful had a good hearty laugh at the senator’s cheap shot.

But should a sitting U.S. senator be making such a joke? Would Cruz like it if people chanted, “Fuck Ted Cruz!” everywhere he went? After all, this is the same Ted Cruz who booked a flight for Cancun rather than stay in Texas while his constituents were freezing in their homes and going without water for weeks when a massive ice storm hit last winter.

Cruz got the reaction he deserved:

https://twitter.com/KariLynn65/status/1445193097990885381?s=20
https://twitter.com/jwharris/status/1445205888000790528?s=20
https://twitter.com/Easi1yAmused/status/1445505152283144212?s=20

If there’s any justice in the universe, the next time Ted Cruz books a flight to Cancun, the plane will wind up in Syria.

Jen Psaki Slaps Down Reporter Who Tries To Suggest Biden Is The Same As Trump

On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki got a question from Michael Shear of the New York Times which sounded more like a query from Fox News or Newsmax. And she quickly dispatched Shear for what he asked.

Specifically, Shear used one of those classic “people are saying” questions that are the favorite of right-wing media and their savior, failed, one-term former President Donald Trump:

“In a number of issues, in the last, say, several weeks in which advocates – allies – of the president are describing him as ‘Trump-like,’ much less in terms of his personality and sort of tone and tenor obviously but, but in terms of policy, even today, [a] representative of the Cuban government describing the frustration with the, with the president, can continue to maintain Trump-era policies, vis-à-vis Cuba. Does the, what’s the President’s reaction? And does he accept that in some areas of policy, he is, you know, in agreement with the former president?”

Psaki began by trying to get clarity and specifics on who had made such comments about the president:

“So, just for the sake of argument here, not argument but discussion, beyond the representative of the Cuban government – But who are we talking about here, who’s saying that the President’s like Trump?”

Shear told the press secretary:

“Oh, I mean they’re, they’re, they’re I mean they’re I could find you quotes, we, there have been quotes at our paper, quotes and lots of, lots of folks have, depending on the issue, whether they are immigration advocates or, you know folks in the Afghanistan, who sort of watch Afghanistan there, there have been numerous on the record descriptions of the President, embracing – and it’s actually in some ways just a factual statement.”

Psaki:

“On what policy, on what policy, sir? What specific policies?”

Shear:

“Well, I mean, for example, Afghanistan would have been the maintaining of the former president’s decision to withdraw troops, on immigration, it’s in maintaining Title 42 and keeping Title 42 in place.”

Clearly amused by the question, Psaki began destroying everything Shear had just said:

“So, look. I take each one of these – on Afghanistan, the former president struck a deal without the Afghan government that we heard the military convey yesterday led to the demoralization of the Afghan security forces and the Afghan government, where he also released 5,000 Taliban fighters into Afghanistan.”

Title 42, it should be noted, deals with public health, ABC News reports:

Title 42 is a clause of the 1944 Public Health Services Law that “allows the government to prevent the introduction of individuals during certain public health emergencies,” said Olga Byrne, the immigration director at the International Rescue Committee.

Seeing as how we’re in the midst of a pandemic, what Psaki said next just makes good sense, and she also managed to get a dig in at Trump:

“Title 42 is a public health, is a public health requirement, a public, because we’re in the middle of a pandemic, which, by the way, we would have made progress on had the former president actually addressed the pandemic and not suggest that people inject bleach, so I think we’re in a bit of a different place.”

It’s been said before but it bears repeating: Jen Psaki is a national treasure. It’s so refreshing to see a press secretary who actually responds to the questions.
