WATCH Pete Buttigieg Take A Fox News Host To School On The Issue Of Crime In The US

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg brilliantly used facts to counter the falsehoods being spouted by Fox News host Lawrence Jones when the secretary appeared on the network to discuss the 2024 election and this week’s Democratic National Convention.

Jones challenged Buttigieg to defend the Biden administration’s actions against crime in the United States, claiming that violent crime was up 10% across 66 major cities.

“Well, certainly the Biden-Harris record for bringing crime down compared to why crime went up under Donald Trump, and I often wonder whether viewers of this network are aware that violent crime went up under Donald Trump,” Buttigieg said. “I think that deserves more coverage so we can ask ourselves why, and some of that has to do with policy. Some of that has to do with the message we send. When you have Donald Trump, an unrepentant convicted criminal running against a prosecutor like Kamala Harris, we have an opportunity to send a message about whether we’re serious on law and order in this country or whether it’s a talking point, or whether it’s just something people try to use as a political theme for partisan gain. You want to talk about inflation? Inflation went up in every country after COVID, but we brought inflation down in this country.”

Jones attempted to interrupt Buttigieg, but the transportation secretary would have none of it, making his next point despite the host’s rudeness.

“Every election is about the future, right? In the future, economists predict the Trump plan will increase costs for American families by $3,900, so why would we go back to somebody who’s going to make it worse?”

“You guys sent the cavalry in for you guys, for your protection, but the people of Chicago don’t see that on a day-to-day basis,” Jones claimed. “What are you guys going to do to stop the bloodshed in our communities?”

Buttigieg also noted that gun crime is a problem in the U.S., and yet the GOP refuses to pass sensible gun reform legislation.

“The big question, I think, for politics, for policy, for media, is who is going to help them versus who is going to use them. The questions she’s asking are the exact questions that any citizen should be asking.”

When Jones attempted to dodge the gun issue, Buttigieg once again pushed back.

“Donald Trump says no, the Republican Party says no,” Buttigieg said. “Talk about assault weapons, something that made a difference, when that assault weapons ban contributed to a reduction in crime. I remember coming to Chicago as a kid, and by the way, even though some media only want to talk about the worst and most painful things that go on in our cities, Chicago is a proud city, Chicago is an extraordinary city. But I do remember coming here when crime and murder was off the charts.”

Jones then asked Buttigieg to name one Republican leader in Chicago.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa – listen to me,” Buttigieg replied. “Not only did we have those levels of crime under Democratic and Republican leaders, but if you’ll try to cherry pick this for partisan purposes, you want to play that game? So is the case in Boston, where there is a much lower murder rate and also a Democratic mayor. We could talk about the murder rate in Mississippi being double what it is in Illinois. Now I could go around saying that the murder rate in Mississippi being double what it is in Illinois because Mississippi has a Republican governor and Illinois has a Democratic governor, but you and I both know it just doesn’t work that way.”

Pete Buttigieg is a national treasure, and he’s one of the best in the world when it comes to countering the bullshit narratives being spun over at Fox.

Pete Buttigieg Shreds J.D. Vance For Using ‘Pro-Family’ Rhetoric To Cloak His Bigotry

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttgieg slammed GOP vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance this morning during an appearance on CNN, making it clear that while Vance claims to be “pro-family,” his words suggest otherwise.

Asked about an interview CNN conducted with Vance in which the Ohio Republican accused Democrats of being anti-family, Buttigieg made it clear he has no use for the senator’s bogus pronouncements on the topic of what constitutes a family.

“Let’s be clear, we’re the ones trying to get the Child Tax Credit expanded and J.D. Vance couldn’t be bothered to show up in the Senate and vote for it and Republicans have blocked that from being expanded or it’d be the law of the land right now.”

“So if you want to talk about promoting children, promoting family, put your money where your mouth is,” Buttigieg added.

Buttigieg also told host Dana Bash, “Look, when you asked him and pressed him on whether my family was legitimate, he said yes because I think he felt shamed into it. But let’s remember also, the last time I checked, he doesn’t even think I should legally be able to have a family.”

“Now, if he really got his way in his anti-marriage equality views, I don’t know if that means that he would want me and my husband to be forcibly divorced and separated from our children or if he’d be satisfied just to have us lose legal protections like the ability to do our taxes together, visit them in a hospital,” he added. “I don’t know exactly what his vision of us not having a family looks like, but I know that it’s not pro-family for me.”

Make no mistake. Vance and his political godfather, Donald Trump, think they have the right to determine what constitutes a family. But their version of family is something from the 1950s and has no relevance at all in 2024.

Buttigieg is right. And Vance’s narrow-minded bigotry needs to be called out every time he opens his big mouth.

Pete Buttigieg Schools A Fox News Host On Trump’s ‘Broken Promises’

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg brought the receipts and laid them on the table during an appearance on Fox News to prove disgraced former president Donald Trump’s so-called accomplishments in office were actually just a collection of broken promises.

Speaking with Fox host Shannon Bream, Buttigieg noted that while Trump said in 2016 what he planned to do as head of state, all he really accomplished was lying about everything.

“He kept his promise to destroy the right to choose in this country and he kept his promise on tax cuts for the rich.”

“And if you want to know what a second Trump term would be like, I would start by looking at those rare promises that he actually managed to keep.”

On the issue of abortion and a woman’s right to choose, Buttigieg also pushed back when Bream claimed Trump had “disavowed” wanting a national ban on the procedure.

“Yeah, he’s disavowed a lot of things. I don’t believe him because he lies all the time,” Buttigieg replied.

While he was at it, Buttigieg also suggested that Trump might be congnitively impaired, which is legitimate concern since Donald is 78 and would be 83 if he was elected and served a second term in office.

“Unlike Republicans who in Trump’s personality cult will take a look at Donald Trump and say he’s perfectly fine even though he seemed unable to tell the difference between Haley and Pelosi, even though he’s rambling about electrocuting sharks and Hannibal Lecter … we don’t have that kind of warped reality on our side.”

Donald Trump lies about everything. Are we supposed to believe he has suddenly had a change of heart and is telling us the truth? He doesn’t have a speck of truth in him and deserves to lose in a landslide.

Pete Buttigieg Only Needs 2 Minutes To Expose J.D. Vance In This Viral Video

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg exposed Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance as a fraud and huckster Friday evening during an appearance on “Real Time With Bill Maher,” and a video of his comments is going viral online.

Discussing why Silicon Valley high-tech executives are so eager to see Vance become VP, Buttigieg noted, “These are very rich men who have decided to back the Republican Party, that tends to do good things for very rich men. That’s kind of what you’re getting with J.D. [Vance], right?

Buttigieg then referenced past comments Vance made about failed former president Donald Trump in which he called the convicted felon an “opioid.”

“For somebody whose identity is that they’re connected to Appalachia, which has an opioid crisis, that really is the darkest thing you could possibly say about Donald Trump, at least in public. Behind the scenes, he was actually calling him ‘Hitler,’ right? Seriously!”

Much like former vice president Mike Pence, Buttigieg added, Vance is willing to compromise his values to achieve power.

“I watched [Pence] start out as an evangelical Christian who cared about rectitude and family values, and then get on board with a guy who was mixed up with a porn star, and make excuses for him. He got four glorious years, I guess, as vice president of the United States. And it ended on the West front of the U.S. Capitol with Trump supporters proposing that he be hanged for using the one shred of integrity he still had to stand up to an attempt to overthrow the government.”

“So I guess, maybe not as a politician but as a human being, what I’ll say is that I hope things work out a little bit better for J.D. Vance than they did for Pence,” he added.

There was a time when Republicans had brains and spines. But those days are long gone.

Pete Buttigieg Burns Down Martha-Ann Alito For Being A Bigot

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg put conservatives on notice today that there’s a world of difference between a flag that celebrates the LGBTQ community and the ones referenced by Martha-Ann Alito, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito in support of the January 6 Capitol insurrection.

Speaking with CNN’s John Berman, Buttigieg said, “I’m often reminded that the most important thing in my life, which is my marriage, and my family and the two beautiful children that my husband Chasten and I are raising that that marriage only exists by the grace of the single vote on the United States Supreme Court that expanded our rights and freedoms back in 2015 and made it possible for somebody like me to get married.”

“And, you know,  Supreme Court justices have an unbelievable amount of power and, and by the nature in the structure, the Supreme Court, there’s no supervision over that power,” Buttigieg added. “They are entrusted with it literally for as long as they live. And part of that trust is we expect them to enter into those enormously consequential decisions that shape our everyday lives with a sense of fairness.”

“I also hope that most Americans can understand the difference between a flag that symbolizes you know, love and acceptance and signals to people who have sometimes feared for their safety that they’re going to be okay. And insurrectionists symbology, I’ll just leave it at that,” he noted.

In secretly recorded audio, Mrs. Alito groused, “I want a Sacred Heart of Jesus flag, because I have to look across the lagoon at the pride flag for the next month. And he’s like, ‘Oh, please don’t put up a flag.’ I said, ‘I won’t do it. Because I’m deferring to you but when you are free of this nonsense, I’m putting it up and I’m gonna send them a message every day.'”

She also said she wanted to fly several flags that would antagonize the LGBTQ community.

“I’ll be changing the flags. They’ll be all kinds. I made a flag in my head. This is how I satisfy myself. I made a flag. It’s white and has yellow and orange flames around it. And in the middle is the word ‘vergogna.’ ‘Vergogna’ in Italian means shame — vergogna. V-E-R-G-O-G-N-A. Vergogna.”

As if trying to explain her bigotry, Mrs. Alito claimed her German heritage meant she didn’t take any shit from anyone.

“I’m German. I’m from Germany. My heritage is German. You come after me, I’m gonna give it back to you. And there will be a way — it doesn’t have to be now — but there will be a way they will know. Don’t worry about it. God — you read the Bible. Psalm 27 is my psalm. Mine. Psalm 27, the Lord is my God and my rock. Of whom shall I be afraid? Nobody.”

German, huh? Hmm. Weren’t the Nazis German, too? Does Mrs. Altio sympathize with what they did?

Here’s the video of Buttigieg’s interview with CNN:
