Anti-McCarthy Republicans Are ‘In For A Rude Awakening’ Now That He’s Speaker: Report

Now that Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has finally been elected Speaker of the House, what will become of the breakaway faction of Republicans who refused to support him and made the entire GOP caucus look like a clown car for 96 hours?

According to a former Republican strategist, members of Congress such as Reps. Lauren Boebert (CO) and Matt Gaetz (FL) can expect to pay a heavy price that may contribute to them not getting reelected in 2024.

Conservative campaign consultant Alice Stewart said Saturday on CNN that the first punishment for renegade members who wouldn’t support McCarthy will be less prestigious committee assignments.

“I don’t think there’s going to be as much under the Christmas tree for them in that regard as they seem to think. Speaking with a lot of members of the rational Republican group throughout the weekend, specifically late into the night last night, they were frustrated. They were angry. They felt this was completely unnecessary given the fact that every concession they had requested had been met and this was not a matter of policy, this was just about personality conflicts with Kevin McCarthy.”

She added:

“Here these people have gone in day-in and day-out for all the right reasons for the party and for policies, and you have people like [Rep. Matt] Gaetz and [Rep. Lauren] Boebert who are in a vanity project to raise money for the future. They do have the opportunity to decide who gets on which committee and where and, I can guarantee you, Alex, that they’re going to be quite selective in who gets on which committee.

“Certainly Matt Gaetz has his eye on the prize for a key committee assignment, but they’re going to be in for a rude awakening because their colleagues are frustrated with the fact that they have a job to do.”

If indeed Boebert and Gaetz do lose in the next election, all of the chaos they’ve cause might just have been worthwhile. And the fewer Republicans there are in Congress, the better off the country will be.

Lauren Boebert Gets Called Out For Her Bullsh*t By…Sean Hannity?!

Though it may be hard to believe, Fox News host Sean Hannity actually did a few minutes of journalism on his show Wednesday evening as he interviewed Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) to discuss the ongoing impasse between right-wing House GOP hardliners and those who support House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to be the next Speaker of the House.

Hannity began the interview by reading a quote from Boebert in which she had called on former president Donald Trump to urge McCarthy to withdraw his candidacy for the Speaker’s chair. He then inquired:

“Congresswoman, I’m frustrated by you not answering a direct question. You said to President Trump, you said earlier today that President Trump needs to tell Kevin McCarthy, you don’t have the votes–

“Let me turn the tables, congresswoman. Kevin McCarthy has 202–3 votes. Your side has 20. So, if I’m gonna use your words, and your methodology, and your math, isn’t it time for you to pack it in and your side to pack it in considering he has over 200 and you have 20?”

Boebert responded, “Sean, I understand the frustration, I promise you, But he–”

The host countered, “I’m not frustrated. You didn’t answer my question.”

A few seconds later, as Boebert continued to prevaricate, a frustrated Hannity asked again about her abandoning her effort to block McCarthy, to which she replied:

“Well, Sean, he needs 218 and he does not have 218.”

Hannity quickly reminded the Colorado Republican:

“Neither do you!”

When you’ve lost Sean Hannity, it might be time to realize that you are indeed in a cult.

Petition May Keep Boebert And Greene From Being Seated When Congress Convenes In January

A petition filed Friday by two progressive advocacy groups could keep three Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives — Reps. Lauren Boebert (CO), Paul Gosar (AZ), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) from being seated when the new Congress convenes in January due to their vocal support for the January 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection.

Free Speech for People and MoveOn filed the petition, which cites the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. That amendment bars anyone from Congress who has sworn to preserve, protect, and defend the nation but then “engaged in insurrection or rebellion.”

As of Saturday morning, over 68,000 people have signed the petition, which states, Reps. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) “are ineligible to hold future public office, having voiced support for and helped facilitate the deadly insurrection on our nation’s Capitol on January 6th, 2021.”

The petition continues:

Publicly available evidence establishes that Rep. Paul Gosar helped facilitate the insurrection, before, during, and after January 6, 2021. Not only was he among a handful of Congress members who expressed vocal support for the insurrection as it was happening , but, according to news reports, Gosar went so far as to offer organizers of the pre-attack demonstration a “blanket pardon” in connection with unrelated criminal investigations, encouraging what would no doubt be an illegal act of violence.

In the weeks leading up to January 6, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly stated that violence might be necessary to keep Trump in power, exhorted her followers not to allow Congress to transfer power peacefully, and, the night before the attack, called the date “our 1776 moment” (a codeword used by violent extremists to refer to an attack on government buildings). Greene has since attempted to defend the violence on January 6 as justified by the Declaration of Independence, calling convicted participants in the insurrection “political prisoners of war.” In December 2022, she bragged that “if” she had organized the attack, “we would have won. Not to mention, it would’ve been armed.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert echoed Greene’s coded sentiments during the insurrection, tweeting, “Today is 1776.” She was billed as a speaker for the pre-attack Capitol protest, though she did not speak. Three days prior to the insurrection, Boebert released an ad featuring herself walking through federal buildings while brandishing a firearm, pledging to carry a handgun in the Capitol despite D.C. laws banning open carry. In addition, two January 6th organizers told Rolling Stone of “dozens” of planning meetings with Boebert and several other Congress members in the days leading up to the insurrection.

The petition follows action taken Friday by more than 40 congressional Democrats who introduced legislation to bar failed former president Donald Trump from holding office again, also citing the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment.

Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI), lead sponsor of the bill that would keep Trump from serving in office again, explained:

“Donald Trump very clearly engaged in an insurrection on January 6, 2021 with the intention of overturning the lawful and fair results of the 2020 election. You don’t get to lead a government you tried to destroy.”

BUSTED: Lauren Boebert Gets Caught Criticizing Apple – While Using Her iPhone

It’s not easy being Lauren Boebert. After all, the Colorado Republican congresswoman isn’t really bright enough to use a cell phone, and yet she owns one and uses it to post regularly on social media.

And that’s how Boebert got busted using her iPhone as she was posting a tweet criticizing Apple for daring to suggest the company might remove Twitter from the App Store because extremist content on the social media site has skyrocketed since Elon Musk bought Twitter last month.

As the Washington Post reported Monday:

Elon Musk on Monday went on a tear against Apple, Twitter’s top advertiser, after he said the company threatened to block the social network from its App Store without explanation and mostly had stopped advertising on Twitter.

Apple hasn’t confirmed any plans to pull Twitter, and since Musk is known to fabricate “facts” in order to generate buzz on the site, there’s some doubt as to whether or not there’s an ounce of credibility to his tweet.

But that didn’t stop Boebert from threatening Apple on Twitter, as caught by Ron Filipkowski:

That set off a wave of mockery aimed directly at the Colorado Republican, all of it well-deserved.

Lauren Boebert Says SHE’S A Victim Of The Club Q Mass Shooting

Colorado Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert wants us all to feel sorry for her because she says that she’s also a victim of the Club Q mass shooting that left five dead and 17 others injured in Colorado Springs last Saturday.

During an appearance on One America News Network, Boebert claimed the families of the Club Q victims “don’t even have time to grieve before the Left starts pointing the blame and trying to find a cause for this instead of actually going after the deranged shooter, the evil person who did this.”

And then came the congresswoman’s claim that she’s just as much of a victim as those who were shot at the nightclub.

“I’ve been accused of just about every mass shooting there has been. I’ve been blamed for all of it. It has to come to an end. The Left is pissed I won my election, so they’re trying to find something to go after me about.”

Yeah, as if there’s any shortage of things we can “go after” Boebert for. After all, this is the same woman who has said the following things:

Boebert’s victimhood claim was met with righteous scorn on Twitter.
