Trump Complained About Pence Being Taken To Safety On 1/6 – Said VP Should Be Hung: Report

As rioters were storming the Capitol on January 6, 2021, then-President Donald Trump saw crowds of people chanting “Hang Mike Pence!” and said he agreed with them, getting upset when it became clear that the vice president had been whisked to safety by the U.S. Secret Service.

According to The New York Times:

Shortly after hundreds of rioters at the Capitol started chanting “Hang Mike Pence!” on Jan. 6, 2021, the White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, left the dining room off the Oval Office, walked into his own office and told colleagues that President Donald J. Trump was complaining that the vice president was being whisked to safety.

Mr. Meadows, according to an account provided to the House committee investigating Jan. 6, then told the colleagues that Mr. Trump had said something to the effect of, maybe Mr. Pence should be hung.

It is not clear what tone Mr. Trump was said to have used. But the reported remark was further evidence of how extreme the rupture between the president and his vice president had become, and of how Mr. Trump not only failed to take action to call off the rioters but appeared to identify with their sentiments about Mr. Pence — whom he had unsuccessfully pressured to block certification of the Electoral College results that day — as a reflection of his own frustration at being unable to reverse his loss.

Of course, this shouldn’t surprise anyone who actually knows what the failed, one-term, twice-impeached former president is capable of.

For example, Trump reportedly made fun of his own father, Fred Trump, as he faded into the darkness of Alzheimer’s disease, as first reported back in 2017 in the book Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man by Mary Trump, the ex-president’s niece:

“Among the family drama that Trump is set to spill in the book is how the current US president ‘dismissed and derided’ his father ‘when he began to succumb to Alzheimer’s,’ which he was diagnosed with in 1993, according to Simon & Schuster.”

Donald Trump is a complete asshole. He always has been, even as a child:

Dennis Burnham was four years younger and lived around the corner from Donald. He inherited his own impression of his neighbor from his mother, who warned that he should “stay away from the Trumps.”

“Donald was known to be a bully, I was a little kid, and my parents didn’t want me beaten up,” said Burnham, 65, a business consultant in Texas.

Once when she left Dennis in a playpen in a back yard adjoining the Trumps’ property, Martha Burnham returned to find Donald throwing rocks at her son. “She saw Donald standing at the fence,” Dennis Burnham said, “using the playpen for target practice.”

Should it surprise anyone that Donald was willing to see his own VP hang from a scaffold if it would allow him to remain as president indefinitely? If it does, then you simply haven’t been paying attention.

Former Prosecutor Says He Believes Trump Gave ‘Blanket Pardons’ To His Family So They Wouldn’t Be Charged For Jan. 6

Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner says he found it odd Rudy Giuliani, Don Jr. and Ivanka Trump, along with former White House senior adviser all agreed to testify before the House Select Committee investigating the January 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection instead of delaying such testimony by fighting all the way to the Supreme Court.

Why would such high-level former Trump aides be willing to talk to the Jan. 6 committee? Could it be because they had no fear of being prosecuted for what they said because failed, one-term former President Donald Trump handed out sealed blanket pardons in the final days of the administration?

It should also be noted that Trump also appointed three new Supreme Court justices during his four years in office, giving him a nice 6-3 conservative advantage on the highest court in the land should any of those pardons come up for review in the federal courts. One of those justices, you might recall, had been accused of sexual assault and being a drunken asshole during his college years.

Also, if you accept a pardon, you waive your Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, so maybe Rudy, Don Jr., Ivanka, and Jared knew a long and involved appeal process would have been pointless because any court would have ruled against them since they had been pardoned.

There may be some fire connected to that smoke. With the Jan. 6 committee due to start public hearings on June 9, we may all learn exactly what behind the scenes machinations Trump put in place in order to cover his ass and those with a family connection.

WATCH: GOP Voter Unable To Respond When Asked Why Trump Didn’t ‘Stop’ Antifa If They Were Responsible For Jan. 6

A Republican voter in Georgia who tried to blame “Antifa” for the January 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection could only shrug his shoulders when asked why Trump failed to stop the rioters.

“Morning Joe” contributor Elise Jordan was speaking with voters in the Peach State one the eve of the primary election. Failed, one-term former President Donald Trump was supporting ex-Georgia Sen. David Perdue for the GOP gubernatorial nomination, but polls show Perdue is losing by as much as 32 points to incumbent Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp.

When Jordan asked a question about Jan. 6, one man told her:

“There was a lot of bad stuff that happened that day, I agree. But I believe the portion of people that were troublemakers is very small. No. 2 how many of those troublemakers were actually Antifa or intentional troublemakers?”

The man then continued:

“There’s a whole series of questions that don’t add up, and you have to go through this much boilerplate and crap to find the three nuggets of truth or hard fact or information that really matters. I’m frustrated by the entire thing, I want to forget about it, but I looked at every photograph in the [Atlanta Journal-Constitution], about 20 photos that day. All the ones smashing and bashing and crashing, 25, 28 years old, skinny jeans with the beards. I said to myself, ‘That’s not the normal Republican.’ I mean, look at us here. I mean, maybe he was paid to do that.”

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the man began spinning all sorts of debunked conspiracy theories about what transpired on Jan. 6:

“None of it makes any sense. When you read about, you know, Ray Epps being at the one gate that fell first, when you read about the Molotov cocktails left at the DNC the night before with only a mechanical kitchen timer, not anything remotely triggered, so after 60 minutes, the timer can’t be activated. Kamala Harris went to the DNC. Bombs were found by her crew at 11:50, 12:50, within five minutes of Ray Epps giving the orders to crash the first barrier barrier. Then the riots started because the police had to withdraw from that area and investigate the molotov cocktails. There is so much going on when you bore down into the facts.”

Jordan perfectly shut down the man by asking:

“Let’s take a step [back]. So if this was happening, and it was Antifa, then why didn’t President Trump whip into action and stop it? He didn’t tweet, he didn’t call off the dogs. Why was that?”

The man could only smile wanly and shrug his shoulders, unable to find a single word to back up his nonsensical fantasies.

WATCH Marjorie Taylor Greene Have A Full-Blown Meltdown On Live TV Over Being Forced To Testify In Lawsuit

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is angry and scared because it’s starting to look like she won’t be allowed on the ballot in Georgia for reelection if she loses a lawsuit filed by voters in her district wanting to disqualify her for being a participant in the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

Appearing on One America News (OAN) Tuesday, Greene sounded stressed out as she began ranting about how she’s being forced to testify in court on Friday as part of the suit filed against her:

“They are actually putting me on the witness stand on Friday! I am the first Republican member of Congress that is going to be forced to take the witness stand under oath and defend myself against a lie and something I never did.”

Well, if you didn’t do anything wrong, then you should welcome the opportunity to make that clear, Margie.

She then added:

“And so this is a precedence [sic] — it’s a very dangerous precedence [sic]. I cannot believe that I’m being forced to do this! I can’t believe this judge has not thrown this case out and seen it for what it is, which is nothing but a big funded scam for the Democrats trying to control our elections here in Georgia!”

Greene also claimed that her constituents are angry and flooding her office with calls.

“These radical leftists, these progressives want judges in the courtroom and bureaucrats to decide our elections! I’m not going to tolerate it! I’m going to be fighting back.”

And then Greene began begging for money, her voice rising to a shout as she told the OAN host:

“I have to pay for all of this myself. Anything people are willing to chip in I’m so grateful for because I have to pay for my attorneys, I have to pay for this entire defense!

“You know, you want to talk about it? It’s a big lie! They want to talk about the Big Lie. This is the big lie and they’re destroying democracy.”

However, it was what Greene had to say about cameras being allowed in the courtroom that revealed exactly what she and other Republicans are really afraid of: Sunlight and transparency:

“You know what the Democrats and the media are going to do. They’re going to cut and paste so they can sell a lie on their networks every single night on CNN and MSNBC because you know what? They claim they’re against destroying democracy. But they’re the very people that are destroying democracy.”

She sounds terrified, doesn’t she? Good. She deserves to be.

New Roger Stone Documentary Implicates Several Congressional Republicans In January 6 Coup Plot

Raw footage from a planned documentary shows that Roger Stone — a longtime friend and confidant to failed, one-term former President Donald Trump — shows that Stone thought Trump should issue pardons for members of Congress that played a role in the attempted coup that took place on January 6, 2021.

The Washington Post reviewed the footage and reports:

After he left Washington, Stone lobbied for Trump to enact the “Stone Plan” — a blanket presidential pardon to shield himself, Trump’s allies in Congress and “the America First movement” from prosecution for trying to overturn the election, according to the footage and additional documents reviewed by The Post.

But the plan, along with a bid by Stone to win pardons for other Trump backers including convicted mobsters, was ultimately thwarted by White House counsel Pat Cipollone, Stone said in several conversations that were filmed.

What members of Congress did Stone advocate on behalf of because he believed they had played a significant role in the coup plan? Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Jim Jordan (R-OH).

Stone also mentioned Reps. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL).

With the House Select Committee preparing to start public hearings in the spring, Cruz, Hawley, Gaetz, Jordan, Gosar, Biggs, and Brooks could all be seeing their names on subpoenas. Even if the committee chooses not to subpoena the congressmen, it’s safe to expect their names to be prominent when those televised hearings begin.

Here’s some of the raw footage from the documentary:

Asked for his comments on the article from The Post, Stone issued a typically truculent statement which reads:

“Typical of the Washington Post’s coverage over the last two years in which your newspaper insisted that I was a Russian Intelligence asset in league with Wikileaks to aide the Trump campaign — a lie.”

While Stone received a pardon from Trump for lying to Congress, he can still be charged for his role in Jan. 6. And this time he won’t have a buddy in the White House who can wipe the slate clean for him.
