GOP Congressman Calls Marjorie Taylor Greene ‘Idiotic’ For Causing Chaos In The House

Republican New York Congressman Mike Lawler said Sunday that efforts by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to remove Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) as House speaker are “idiotic” and have accomplished nothing but creating chaos.

Speaking with CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union,” Lawler said Greene’s proposed motion to vacate the speaker’s seat is ill-advised and will only cause more problems.

Bash asked Lawler if he believed Greene would formally file the motion to vacate next week.

“I can’t speak for her, obviously,” he said.

“She has introduced it. She has not yet made it privileged but, as I said the day that she introduced it, it’s idiotic and it’s not going to actually help advance the cause that she believes in.”

Lawler added, “In fact, it undermines our House Republican majority. Look, voters enacted a House Republican majority because they wanted a check and balance on the Biden administration. They wanted to stop the reckless out-of-control spending that increased by 5 trillion in just two years and gave us record inflation. They didn’t like the disastrous withdrawal out of Afghanistan, and they saw the disastrous foreign policy decisions that the Biden administration has made when it comes to Iran.”

What Lawler failed to address is the fact that the lunatics are running the asylum in the Republican Party. They support an insurrectionist scumbag who has 91 criminal charges hanging over his head, and they’ve also failed to control the wackos like Greene who have taken over the GOP. Hopefully, they’ll soon be in the minority again and relegated to the back benches of Congress.

Here’s the video of Lawler’s appearance on CNN:

WATCH Matt Gaetz Get Swatted Down During A House Hearing: ‘You Can’t Handle The Truth!’

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) got his head handed to him during a hearing of the House Oversight Committee by a witness testifying on behalf of committee Democrats as Republicans continued to pursue their bogus, fact-free impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden.

The witness was Lev Parnas, a close associate of Rudy Guiliani, who allegedly ordered him to find damaging information about Biden and his son, Hunter. Parnas spent four months in prison for crimes related to that activity.

Attempting to counter claims that Russia instigated the search for corruption allegations against Biden, Gaetz told Parnas, “So it sounds like everyone here today, the only one working for a Russian oligarch was you.”

His voice dripping with sarcasm, Gaetz added, “You were really worried about our democracy, and you were here to warn us, but you were working for a Russian oligarch, wanted to get marijuana licenses, but then you didn’t even do it.”

“No,” Parnas responded. “That’s a lie, Congressman Gaetz.”

“But instead of spending 50 years in prison, you got four months,” Gaetz told the witness. “The DOJ didn’t listen to the truth because if they would listen to the truth, you guys would have been all in jail.”

“You don’t want to hear the truth,” Parnas told the Florida Republican. “You can’t handle the truth, Matt Gaetz!”

“Look, the truth for you is taking money from Russians to buy marijuana businesses and then going to jail and then coming here to lie about Trump,” Gaetz insisted.

Republicans don’t have a shred of evidence that President Biden committed any crimes or impeachable offenses. Their inquiry is classic McCarthyism and it’s backfiring on them. You’d think they have enough sense to stop digging the hole they’re in any deeper. But they don’t, and they’re far too busy taking orders from failed former president Donald Trump to do what’s best for the country.

House Democrat Reveals How She Plans To Derail Biden Impeachment Hearings

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has a message for her Republican colleagues in the House of Representatives who voted this week to open a formal impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden: You’re going to regret that decision.

Appearing on MSNBC, Crockett told host Jonathan Capehart that she will be dragging failed former president Donald Trump’s crimes into the hearings and hinted that she may also go after Republicans who sit on the House Oversight Committee.

Capehart asked the Texas Democrat, “As a member of the Oversight and Accountability Committee, what role do you expect to play in this impeachment inquiry process?”

“Yes, absolutely,” Crockett replied. “We are going to be the truth-tellers. We are the ones who cut through the noise and make sure that the American people know that this is nothing more than political theater and games. We are also going to try to juxtapose what it would look like if we had the adults in the room who were running this committee.”

“We will make sure that we juxtapose what it looks like when this committee runs the way that it is supposed to as well as we will bringing out the hypocrisy which exists.”

Crockett then elaborated on how she will contrast Trump with Biden.

“We have Trump on one hand and Biden on the other. We have all of these insurrectionists, congresspersons, and then we’ve got Hunter Biden, you know. We will make sure that the American people and know that this is just not the tree that they want to bark up on.”

When the dust settles, don’t be surprised if the GOP impeachment gambit winds up backfiring on them in a major way and costs them the 2024 election. The only reason they’re doing it is to appease Trump, and that’s not likely to sit well with most voters.

McCarthy’s Constituents Trash Him As He Retires: ‘Don’t Let The Door Hit You On The Way Out’

As he prepares to leave Congress and head back to the California district he’s represented since 2007, Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy may be anticipating that he’ll be well-received by his constituents.

But based on a fascinating report from Andrew Gumbel of The Guardian, many residents of the district — the largest city of which is Bakersfield — aren’t exactly eager to see McCarthy back in in their midst.

“If you went through the wringer he went through, I suspect there’s a little humiliation, a little embarrassment. Maybe he’s licking his wounds and wants to go off into the sunset,” said Greg Perrone, president of the Greater Bakersfield Republican Assembly, an activist group that hews to McCarthy’s right. “Still, I’m a little disappointed that he didn’t finish the term that he was elected to serve. That’s not what we expect from our elected leaders.”

Consider some of the letters to the editor of The Bakersfield Californian, many of which are filled with stinging rebukes of McCarthy, including calling him quitter for retiring early.

“Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Kevin,” two of them wrote last week. One added: “You haven’t represented us in a very long time.”

Even Bakersfield mayor Karen Goh gave McCarthy the back of her hand, saying she was “too busy” to provide even a brief quote regarding the former speaker.

Some in the district complain that McCarthy has never been interested in their needs and has instead spent most of his time in other parts of California in an effort to raise fundraising dollars for himself and the GOP, which doesn’t exactly do them any good.

McCarthy’s district, California’s 20th, extends well beyond Bakersfield into the farmlands of Kern and Tulare counties and into the suburbs of Fresno, the largest city in the Central Valley. It was redrawn before the last election to make it more solidly Republican, relieving McCarthy of any significant pressure to fight for his own congressional seat. He scarcely visited during last year’s campaign, focusing instead on raising hundreds of millions of dollars for more competitive districts in California and the rest of the country.

For his part, McCarthy is making it clear he’s still interested in politics on a national level, especially if a future Republican president has a cabinet post that needs to be filled by an insider who has lots of contacts in Congress and can always be counted when it comes time to ask donors to write a check or two for the GOP effort.

Historically, McCarthy will go down as a lesson in the personal greed for power that drove both his rise to the top and the crash that left him as little more than a historical footnote who is only interested in what he can do for himself.

WATCH Marjorie Taylor Greene Object When A Democrat Uses The Perfect Word To Describe Her

Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has never been a fan of the truth, and she proved that again during a House hearing Tuesday when one of her Democratic colleagues used a word that set her off.

The hearing was on transgender athletes, and a witness from the right-wing think tank Heritage Foundation was testifying when Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) remarked:

“The Heritage Foundation loves Texas. They always sending us some nonsense bills that somehow set this country on the wrong trajectory. They send them to Texas. They send them to Florida. Every deplorable state that we can think about, they usually coming out of y’all’s think tank.”

Greene immediately objected.

“Point of order,” she said. “Point of order. I move to strike her words, ‘deplorable states.’

“That’s not a point of order,” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) told the chairman of the committee, Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI). “Let the gentlelady proceed.”

After conferring with aides, McClain ruled against Greene.

“A ‘deplorable state’ is not a statement against a person,” she told Greene. “Or it is not engaging in personalities.”

Crockett later mocked Greene on Twitter.

As others reminded Greene on social media, the word “deplorable” is the perfect way to describe her.
