During a debate in the Senate on the lifting of sanctions on a pipeline, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) accused Democrats of “appeasing” Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Cotton took broad aim at how the Democrats had handled Moscow in criticism, referring in particular to the Biden administration’s suspension of sanctions on entities involved with the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
Critics, including both Republicans and Democrats, say that the pipeline, which will take gas between Russia and Germany, gives Putin a geopolitical advantage. The pipeline was stalled by German lawmakers this week.
That led Cotton to remark:
In response, New Hampshire Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen immediately fired back at Cotton, reminding him that he’d been allowed to visit Russia while the Russian government refused to grant her entry:
She then added:
Keep in mind this is the same Tom Cotton who refused to impeach failed, one-term former President Donald Trump for extorting our Ukrainian allies unless they agree to help him trash President Joe Biden. He delayed military aid to them at a time when Ukraine was being harassed and threatened with attack by Putin’s military.
Do us all a favor, Sen. Cotton: Sit down and shut the hell up.
If there’s one thing that’s always been abundantly clear when it comes to failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump, it’s that he’s a sexist pig and rabid misogynist who hates women and thinks they serve no purpose other than sex and procreation.
If you doubt that, consider what the Donald once said regarding women:
You probably remember Fiona Hill from Trump’s first impeachment. She was his top expert on Russia who told congressional investigators that the then-president did indeed try to extort the nation of Ukraine in exchange for military supplies that had already been approved by Congress.
Hill has just released a new book, There Is Nothing For You Here: Finding Opportunity in the 21st Century. in which she carefully lays out the blatant criminal acts committed by Trump during his time in office.
On Thursday, Hill was a guest on CNN, and host Jim Sciutto read a passage from the book regarding how Trump viewed women:
“It was easier for Trump to dismiss women and see them as problems – women who got in the way. They were, after all, the ‘nonplayers in his world’…and like these other ‘nonplayers’, I too found myself in the crosshairs.”
On another occasion, Hill recalls in her book, Trump wanted to know if she would rewrite a press release, not realizing that he was asking that of one of the top diplomats in the administration:
There was an exchange between the president and McMaster that I didn’t catch. Then the president raised his voice: “Well, can she do it? Can she go type it up and bring it back?” She? I thought. What? What just happened? Only then did I realize Trump was talking about me. “She” could only be me. There were three shes in the room, and the she in question was certainly not Ivanka and unlikely to be Margaret Peterlin. Suddenly he was practically yelling — “Hey, darlin’, are you listening? Are you paying attention?”
Apparently, that passage got back to Trump through some of his current aides, and he lashed out at Hill via his spokesperson, who shared the failed ex-president’s whining on Twitter since he’s banned from the platform:
And then, once his “team” had a chance to think up some more cheap shots, we got this:
One wonders if Ms. Harrington was required to take these insults via dictation and then regurgitate them back into the internet ether to mollify her boss.
Whatever the case, once again we see that Donald Trump has learned nothing and is too damn stupid to realize that alienating the largest part of the U.S. electorate is the kiss of death.
It’s a given that Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is probably the loosest cannon in the entire U.S. Congress, but something she said Monday could well place her in the Moron Hall of Fame.
During an appearance on the extreme right-wing Real America’s Voice network, Greene said she was outraged that Vice President Kamala Harris isn’t in Kabul, Afghanistan, helping to evacuate Americans from the country. The only solution, Greene said, was to impeach Harris:
This comes just a day after Greene demanded that President Joe Biden also be impeached for withdrawing American troops from Afghanistan, a move that was initiated under Greene’s lord and savior, Donald Trump.
Using Green’s blueprint, Biden and Harris would both be impeached and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi would become president. Clearly, the congresswoman from Georgia didn’t think this one through all the way. Provided, that is, she’s even capable of thought.
Twitter soon reminded Ms. Greene that she needs to learn to keep her mouth shut and stay off social media unless she wants even more mockery:
Here’s a better idea for Marjorie Taylor Greene: If you’re so concerned about Americans in Kabul, why don’t you fly over and help evacuate them? Probably because you’re too chickenshit and selfish to do anything for another human being.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki put Fox News reporter Peter Doocy in his place Monday when he attempted to suggest that the Biden administration is leaving Americans “stranded” in Afghanistan, despite the fact that the U.S. has already airlifted 40,000 Afghans and Americans out of the country so far.
After he let loose with his question/editorial comment, Psaki made it clear she wasn’t about to let Doocy use a question to spread lies, telling him:
Doocy tried to push back on what Psaki said, but she immediately shot him down:
Fox — along with right-wing “news” outlets Newmax and OAN — is looking for a way to attack the Biden administration anyway they can. They know his policies are popular with the American people, so they’re hoping to spread a lie that somehow Americans are being left behind in Afghanistan. They’re also conveniently neglecting to mention that the withdrawal began while failed, one-term former President Donald Trump was still in office.
Doocy was also pilloried on social media for his remarks:
For the next press conference, maybe Fox News can just send Wile E. Coyote and have him show off some of his wonderful wares directly from the Acme Corporation right before they explode and leave him picking up his teeth.
We’ve known for some time now that Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is a complete idiot whose only purpose in life seems to be self-promotion. It’s the Donald Trump school of politics: Always keep your name in the news.
Of course, much of the publicity Gaetz has received in recent months is due to his alleged sexual trafficking of an underage girl, which could send him to prison for the rest of his life.
And yet, Gaetz continues to draw attention to himself, as if desperate to make a complete fool of himself on social media, which he did once again Wednesday after reading an article on a right-wing blog that suggested Twitter was allowing the Taliban to post on the social media site.
That led the congressman to post this tweet:
So Matt Gaetz wants to see the Taliban and Trump on Twitter. And he thinks their “government” is more legitimate than the one that was elected overwhelmingly by the American people last November. Wow! That’s some serious flirting with outright treason.
As for Trump still being banned from Twitter, Gaetz and other Trump acolytes forget that he was repeatedly warned about his postings and ignored those warnings. He violated Twitter’s terms of service, and that’s why he got the boot.
Gaetz, on the other hand, is just a douchebag who loves Trump more than he loves almost anything except underage girls. And he got some serious pushback for his tweet:
Maybe when he gets to prison, Matty can brag to his fellow inmates about how much he loves the Taliban right before they tell him to shut up and put on the dress they gave him.
