Legal Experts: Marjorie Taylor Greene Committed Perjury Numerous Times Today

Today in Atlanta, an administrative hearing was held to determine if Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is indeed an insurrectionist and should be removed from the November ballot.

On dozens of occasions, Greene said she didn’t remember or didn’t recall when she was asked questions by an attorney representing Free Speech for People and voters in Greene’s congressional district who brought the challenge to her candidacy as she seeks reelection.

According to the Washington Post:

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, testifying Friday about her alleged role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol as part of a case seeking to disqualify her from seeking reelection, said she could not remember whether she urged President Donald Trump to impose martial law as a way to remain in power.

“I don’t recall,” Greene (R-Ga.) said in response to questioning by an attorney representing the plaintiffs in the case.

“So you’re not denying you did it?” asked the attorney, Andrew G. Celli Jr. “You just don’t remember.”

“I don’t remember,” Greene replied.

Unfortunately for Greene, however, she didn’t maintain that lack of recall when it came to all of the questions she was asked, and that led her to commit perjury on numerous occasions, according to legal experts who watched the congresswoman’s testimony.

The most egregious examples of Greene allegdly lying under oath were when she was asked about postings made on her social media accounts, insisting that she didn’t remember certain tweets in which she called for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to be killed.

Minutes later, however, Greene suddenly had perfect recall and was able to remember things she had posted online. So was the she lying when she didn’t recall or when she did? Either way, she lied under oath, which is a crime and set off calls for her to be prosecuted for perjury.

Elie Mystal of The Nation wondered, “Who is handling the upcoming MTG perjury prosecution?”

Others also had thoughts on the lies Greene allegedly told while under oath:

FYI: Perjury is a felony in the state of Georgia and is punishable by a fine of $1,000 or by a prison term between 1 and 10 years, or both.

Margie better hope she has a damn good attorney on retainer.

GOP Pollster: Republicans Think Trump Is A ‘Child’ And Laugh At Him

With the midterm elections now just seven months away, some Republicans are taking a long look at the party and trying to figure out if failed, one-term former President Donald Trump still holds sway in the GOP.

The answer, it seems, is that Trump is seen by many in the know as being in the rearview mirror with his influence and importance dissipating by the day.

Eleanor Clift writes in The Daily Beast that well-known Republican pollster Frank Luntz is convinced Trump is history:

“They won’t say it [in public], but behind his back, they think he’s a child. They’re laughing at him.”

Luntz also explained that the vast majority of Republicans have no desire to relitigate the 2020 election and would rather drop the subject completely:

“Trump isn’t the same man he was a year ago. Even many Republicans are tired of going back and rehashing the 2020 election. Everybody else has moved on and in Washington everyone believes he lost the election.”

Clift warns that while Trump’s influence may be waning inside the GOP, that could change depending on how candidates he has endorsed do come November:

“Republicans may be laughing at Trump behind his back, as Luntz indicated, but making fun of the former president could backfire. When President Barack Obama ridiculed Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2011, the putdown was so stinging that some believe it prompted the real-estate tycoon’s 2016 bid for the presidency.

“This time around, we will learn when the votes are counted in the nearly 130 races where Trump has endorsed a candidate, testing his strength in the Republican Party to pick governors and senators and even state legislators—and testing the theories of those who say his best days are behind him, and the fortitude of those who mock him.”

Congress Elections GOP The Biden Administration WTF?!

Greene Says House Republicans Will Impeach Biden And Harris If They Win The Midterm Election

If Republicans win control of the House of Representatives in the upcoming midterm elections, according to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), their top priority won’t be legislating or doing anything to help the American people. Instead, they intend to try and impeach President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

At a reelection kickoff for alleged sex trafficker Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Greene made it clear that she and her GOP colleagues will be seeking payback for the two impeachments of failed, one-term former President Donald Trump:

“Here’s what we do after that we too impeach Kamala Harris, because you can’t encourage, and promote, and raise money for criminal rioters, and expect to serve the interest of the people, the great people of the United States. That is a conflict of interest.”

If Republicans win control of the House, they can indeed impeach Biden and Harris, though there’s no way either would be convicted in a Senate trial. Such a move would also alienate millions of voters as the country moves closer to the 2024 presidential election.

Trump has been hinting that he will likely run in 2024, but considering his age, questionable health, and possible indictment, that’s not even a 50-50 proposition.

Greene and her ilk are on the verge of overplaying their hand, and that could wind up making it all the more likely that Democrats win in 2024 and become the permanent party in power for decades.

WATCH The AG Of Alabama Make A Fool Of Himself When Asked If Biden Was ‘Duly Elected’

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall appeared at the request of Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee to testify at the confirmation hearings for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson on Thursday, and he quickly made a complete fool of himself when asked a simple question by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI).

The question Whitehouse asked was:

“Is Joseph R. Biden of Delaware the duly elected and lawfully serving president of the United States of America?”

Questions don’t get much easier than that. The only question that would have been equally as much of a slam dunk for Marshall to answer might be “Does two plus two equal four?”

And yet, Marshall couldn’t answer the query from Whitehouse, remarking:

“He is the president of this country.”

The senator asked again:

“Is he the duly elected and lawfully serving president of the United States?”

At that point, Whitehouse paused for a second and asked Marshall if he was deliberately omitting “duly elected and lawfully serving” from his response.

Marshall:

“I’m answering the question. He is the president of the United States.”

Once more, Whitehouse ran the question by Marshall:

“You have no view as to whether he was duly elected or is lawfully serving?”

The AG replied:

“I’m telling you he’s the president.”

Cleary disgusted, Whitehouse said:

“No further questions.”

It probably won’t surprise you to learn that Marshall is up for reelection in November and is clearly trying to curry favor with Republican voters who still support failed, one-term former President Donald Trump and his “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was stolen from him. It wasn’t, but the GOP has to pretend it was so Trump doesn’t say mean things about them.

If you want to see the perfect example of a gutless eunuch, just watch the performance AG Marshall gave today.

Georgia Voters File Suit To Kick Marjorie Taylor Greene Off The Ballot For Being An ‘Insurrectionist’

A group of voters in the state of Georgia filed a lawsuit Thursday that would disqualify Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) from running for reelection in November as a result of her actions on January 6, 2021.

Charles Bethea of The New Yorker reports:

“The suit argues that Greene’s statements and activities related to the attack on the Capitol on January 6th make the congresswoman an insurrectionist A clause of the Fourteenth Amendment specifically prohibits those who have ‘engaged in insurrection or rebellion’ against the United States from holding public office. The suit, citing this clause, contends that Greene ‘is constitutionally disqualified from congressional office and, as such, ineligible to run as a candidate under state and federal law.’”

The lawsuit was filed by the nonprofit Free Speech For People, which has also filed a similar suit against Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC).

The suit against Greene cites “numerous instances in which Greene, on social media or in person, has ‘advocated for political violence, up to and including, her encouragement of the insurrectionists on January 6.'”

One of those instances was a tweet Greene sent out on January 5, 2021 in which she referred to the next day as “our 1776 moment!”

Additionally, in a video Greene posted on Facebook, the Georgia Republican remarked:

“You can’t allow it to just transfer power peacefully like Joe Biden wants and allow him to become our President because he didn’t win this election.”

Greene has recently drawn criticism for suggesting that the United States shouldn’t arm the Ukrainian freedom fighters, commenting:

“If we truly care about suffering and death on our television screens, we cannot fund more of it by sending money and weaponry to fight a war they cannot possibly win! The only effect of more arms and more money from America will be to prolong the war!”
