Fox News broadcast an exclusive interview with soon-to-be first lady Melania Trump yesterday, but someone in their graphics department failed to get the memo about what Mrs. Trump’s title will be as of January 20.
During the interview, a chyron appeared on the screen which read, “Melania opens up about becoming second lady again.”
Actually, the title of second lady will be held by Usha Vance, the wife of Vice President-elect J.D. Vance.
The error set off a torrent of mockery on social media.
Having already dishonored the memory of former President Jimmy Carter by sending condolences to his late widow, Rosalynn, Texas GOP Gov. Greg Abbott decided he’d go for the diss twofer and order that flags in the Lone Star State be raised to full-staff by next Monday, the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration.
President Joe Biden issued a presidential decree on Dec. 29 for a monthlong tribute to Carter. It called for U.S. flags displayed on “all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions” to be flown at half-staff “for a period of 30 days from the day of his death.”
Based on the decree, flags are to be flown at half-staff until January 29, nine days after Trump is sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, which didn’t sit well with Trump, who whined on social media, writing, “The Democrats are all ‘giddy’ about our magnificent American Flag potentially being at ‘half mast’ during my Inauguration. They think it’s so great, and are so happy about it because, in actuality, they don’t love our Country, they only think about themselves.”
Despite the Biden decree, Abbott issued a press release today stating, “Texas continues to mourn with our fellow Americans across the country over the passing of former President Jimmy Carter. President Carter’s steadfast leadership left a lasting legacy that will be felt for generations to come, which together as a nation we honor by displaying flags at half-staff for 30 days. On January 20, our great nation will celebrate our democratic tradition of transferring power to a new President by inaugurating the 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. As we unite our country and usher in this new era of leadership, I ordered all flags to be raised to full-staff at the Texas Capitol and all state buildings for the inauguration of President Trump. While we honor the service of a former President, we must also celebrate the service of an incoming President and the bright future ahead for the United States of America.”
In other words, screw the dead guy. Instead, Texas is going to honor the rapist asshat who has made it clear he has every intention of trying to destroy the United States with his moronic policies.
To hell with Texas. To hell with Greg Abbott. And to hell with Donald Trump.
Twitter CEO Elon Musk got his ass handed to him by a Los Angeles firefighter during a livestream to discuss the wildfires which continue to ravage large areas in the state.
Last Thursday, Musk suggested that climate change wasn’t the main cause of the California wildfires and that a “shortage of water” could be blamed for the disaster.
Musk posted, “Exactly. Climate change risk is real, just much slower than alarmists claim. The immense loss of homes in LA is primarily due to: 1. Nonsensical overregulation that prevented creating fire breaks and doing brush clearing. 2. Bad governance at the state and local level that resulted in a shortage of water.”
That led California Gov. Gavin Newsom to post video of Musk discussing the issue with firefighters who contradicted Elon’s attempt at scapegoating.
In the video, Musk asks, “Was water available? I understand that wasn’t an issue in Malibu, is that correct?”
The firefighter responds, “There was water. We have water reservoirs. Just an example: If we have one building burning, we can flow 1000 gallons a minute through that one building.”
“The amount of water we’re flowing, there really is no water system that’s gonna keep that pace, so we have to bring in water tenders, which are these big water tanks, you know, 2500/3000-gallon trucks, and they’ll come in and that’s what we have to do to compensate.”
“[The Department of Water and Power] did a great job, they brought in big trucks for us and we used them as, basically, mobile hydrants,” the firefighter adds.
Musk: “Correct me if I’m wrong, but in Malibu there was no shortage of water, in the Palisades there was a shortage of water at a certain point, or is that not accurate?”
Firefighter: “Well, we were flowing an amount of water that the system couldn’t… it was overbearing.”
Musk ends the livestream with a tepid, “Ok. Alright. Sounds good.”

According to Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, the United States could easily overtake the nation of Greenland and its natural resources without having to send more members of the U.S. military to accomplish the mission because “we always have troops in Greenland.”
Fox host Shannon Bream asked Vance about Donald Trump’s obsession with the country and if a military invasion was planned to take control of it.
“What’s the deal with Greenland and the Panama Canal?” Bream inquired. “Are we using or considering use of military force in any of those situations?”
“No, look, we don’t have to use military force, Shannon,” Vance responded. “The thing that people always ignore is we already have troops in Greenland.”
“Greenland is really important for America strategically,” he continued. “It has a lot of great natural resources.”
Vance added that his “good friend” Donald Trump Jr. had recently paid a visit to Greenland.
“And you know what they told him?” Vance claimed. “They want to be empowered to develop, the people of Greenland want to be empowered to develop the resources there.”
“We also need to make sure that Greenland is properly cared for from an American security perspective,” he added. “The Danish government has not done a good enough job of securing Greenland.”
“I think there actually is a real opportunity here for us to take leadership, to protect America’s security, to ensure that those incredible natural resources are developed, and that’s what Donald Trump is good at. He’s good at making deals, and I think there’s a deal to be made in Greenland.”
The problem is that Greenland has already made it clear they don’t want to be under the control of the United States. They’re happy being protected by the Danes and aren’t looking for a new suitor.
Despite that, don’t be surprised if Trump does something strategically moronic and gets members of our military killed. After all, everything the tangerine shitgibbon touches dies.
When he purchased Twitter in October of 2022, Elon Musk claimed he was doing so to “help humanity.”
Of course, that was utter bullshit. Musk has never been interested in helping anyone but himself, and it turns out the real reason he forked over $44 billion to buy the social media platform was to control the debate on any number of issues and bolster political figures who share his right-wing view of the world.
At first, fellow extremists on the right cheered Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, which he soon renamed “X.” They claimed he believed in free speech and would allow open and fair debate on matters that impact all of us.
Now, however, some in the pro-Trump MAGA movement are souring on Musk and accusing him of throttling their reach on Twitter to ensure fewer people see their postings.
Laura Loomer is among the pro-Trump/MAGA influencers who say Musk has betrayed them because they disagree with his push to allow more foreign high-tech workers in the United States.
Loomer is now accusing Musk of throttling comments on her posts and marking them as spam.
“I asked X how this post could have 121 comments and then all but 7 of them are marked as spam. So every single person who commented below on the lawfare against Trump violated the ‘platform manipulation and spam policy’? That is a lie being used to censor,” Loomer wrote. “You be the judge yourself and open the tweet and read the comments. There’s nothing wrong with majority of the comments. I really hope this censorship ends soon. [Musk] can you plz review this issue with the probable spam? Majority of users are not in violation of policies. This is alarming.”
That led another conservative to ask Loomer where his comments could be found on her posting. She replied, “Your reply is also being marked as ‘probable spam’.”
“You are a premium user. You are paying for a service and being marked as spam. I wish we could get an honest reply about why this is happening to so many people on X. How are Legit replies spam?” Loomer then asked.
Loomer added:
As you’d expect, Loomer and others who have dared to disagree with Musk on the immigration issue haven’t heard a damn thing from Musk or others at Twitter. They’re paying for a service and can’t even get replies to their questions. And they’re furious about it.
Isn’t it ironic that the same people who believe Donald Trump’s lies also thought Elon Musk would tell them the truth? Fascists and oligarchs don’t believe in accountability. They’re far too busy trying to enslave the world so they can acquire more money and power for themselves.
