Ivanka And Jared’s Florida Neighbors Don’t Want The ‘Plastic’ Couple In Their Town: Report

After failed, one-term and twice-impeached former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election overwhelmingly to Joe Biden, all of the Trumps packed up their shit and headed for Florida.

The ex-president, of course, returned to his overpriced Mar-a-Lago golf resort, but the other Trump spawn had to go out and look for a place to live in the Sunshine State.

Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, wound up in the town of Surfside, which is located in Miami-Dade County, where they rent a luxury condo for $40,000 a month while their massive “Billionaire Bunker” is being built at an estimated cost of $24 million on a private island.

But all is not well in paradise, according to a report from Washingtonian, which notes many of the couple’s neighbors are less than impressed with the two, who are often referred to by the name Jvanka:

One sunny day last June, a Surfside resident spotted a tall blond woman on the hard pack, with a little white dog on a leash. She watched as the woman led the dog off the pathway toward the beach, right past a sign that clearly said dogs weren’t allowed.

The resident, a beach activist who finds high purpose in protecting Surfside’s loggerhead sea turtles during nesting season, mobilized. “I was speed-walking at her and yelling at her,” she recalls. “I just opened my mouth and said, ‘You can’t go out there with the dog!’”

When the startled owner turned around, her face was immediately recognizable. It was Ivanka Trump—accompanied by her ten-year-old daughter, Arabella, and their ultra-white, blue-eyed pooch, Winter.

“Oh-uh, I didn’t realize,” Trump said.

Didn’t realize or didn’t think the rules applied to her? Knowing the sense of entitlement the Trumps all have, it’s probably the latter.

That same resident also remarked that it’s quite obvious Ivanka has had cosmetic surgery and appears more than a bit “plastic.”

The resident was a bit flummoxed herself; this was her first face-to-face encounter with the former First Daughter. “She’s well put together,” the neighbor remembers. “She’s had a lot of work done, and it’s good plastic. It’s Miami, and there’s a lot of bad plastic here. She has good plastic.”

Shortly after that encounter, the same Surfside resident saw the couple at the beach, and she was not impressed with the way the Trump parents seemed oblivious to what happened to their kids:

Ivanka and Jared were out at the ocean’s edge with their five-year-old son, Theodore. He walked up to the neighbor (who asked to remain anonymous because she continues to live near the family) and talked about a fish he’d caught. The neighbor reminded Jared, in swim trunks, and Ivanka, in a “cute ruffled outfit,” to watch out for jellyfish. Ivanka indicated she wouldn’t be swimming, but Theodore hurried into the ocean. The neighbor was immediately concerned.

“I’m thinking, Why is this boy in the water alone on a boogie board with this moderate rip current? I’m a mother, and I would never let my child alone in the water like that.”

Sure enough, young Theodore began drifting from shore, prompting Jared to run in after him.

Those encounters left the resident convinced that Ivanka is living in her reality, quite apart from the rest of us:

 “She seems to be about . . . ‘I live in this little cocoon where the rules don’t apply to me’ . . . in her own little world.”

Sounds exactly like her father, a man who has never thought the rules apply to him but is starting to learn that prosecutors in several venues don’t see things that way and are continuing to investigate him with the goal of indicting him and his company on a raft of charges.

Meanwhile, back in Surfside, perhaps Ivanka has finally learned where she can and cannot walk her pooch.

Former Prosecutor: Jordan’s Jan. 6 Phone Call With Trump Is A ‘Big Piece’ Of Evidence That Could Sink Both Men

Thanks to some excellent reporting from CNN, we learned Friday that the House Select Committee on the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol now has evidence that failed, one-term former President Donald Trump spoke to his longtime congressional acolyte, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), for 10 minutes on the morning of the attack.

The House select committee investigating the Capitol insurrection is now in possession of White House records that provide new details about a phone call Donald Trump made to Republican Rep. Jim Jordan on January 6, 2021 — as the investigation drills down on the former President’s communications that day and questions have long swirled around calls between him and lawmakers.

Two sources who have reviewed the call records tell CNN that Trump spoke on the phone at the White House residence with Jordan for 10 minutes on the morning of January 6. That afternoon, Jordan took to the House floor to object to the certification of President Joe Biden’s Electoral College win, and pro-Trump supporters attacked the US Capitol.

Jordan has so far refused to cooperate with the Jan. 6 committee, and it remains unclear if he will be subpoenaed for his testimony.

But according to former federal prosecutor Harry Litman, the call itself could wind up being a key to sinking both the Ohio Republican and ex-president.

Appearing on CNN, Litman was asked by host Amara Walker:

“We know that Congressman Jim Jordan spoke with President Trump for ten minutes. That afternoon he went to object to the certification of Biden’s Electoral College win. Do you think a subpoena will be enough for Jordan to speak to the committee and reveal what was said on that call?”

Litman replied:

“Short answer is no. And by the way, you’re right. just for the listeners, the records the committee have just say how long the call was, they don’t have the context. The people who could give that? Jim Jordan and Donald Trump but they both can have confidence that there will be a conspiracy of silence.”

Litman then added:

“But it’s significant. Because he’s been all over the lot and very squirrely about it with one exception. He said categorically, ‘I never talked to him in the morning.’ So this puts the lie to it. As you say that really matters because it is in advance of the whole riot and rally that Trump undertook.

“So it is a big piece of evidence. A prosecutor’s head would be going off like crazy given all the squirreliness like before, but I don’t think a subpoena will work against Jordan unless and until they go to court for it.”

All of the pieces are falling into place that will eventually provide the roadmap necessary to charge Trump and his co-conspirators for their role in the Capitol insurrection. And keep in mind that the committee has seen evidence we haven’t. That information will be handed over to the Justice Department along with a criminal referral specifying what crimes the committee believes were committed by Jordan and others.

Hang in there. It’s all about to be laid in front of the American people when the committee’s public hearings begin in March.

Alarming New Conflicts Of Interest By Justice Clarence Thomas Raise Talk Of Impeachment

For years now, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has been a lightning rod for criticism, in part for his right-wing rulings and controversial past which nearly derailed his nomination when he was accused of sexually harassing Anita Hill while both worked at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Now Thomas is once again in hot water thanks to two blatant conflicts of interest that have some legal experts saying the justice could well face impeachment.

 

The first controversy stems from a dissent made by Thomas regarding documents sought by the House Select Committee on the January 6 Capitol insurrection. He was the only member of the high court to rule that former President Donald Trump could keep documents hidden from the committee.

At the same time Thomas made his ruling, his wife, Ginni, was actively engaged in activism against the Jan. 6 investigation, which led University of Texas Law Professor Steve Vladeck to note during an appearance on CNN:

“There are surely substantive reasons, consistent with his jurisprudence, why Justice Thomas dissented from the Court’s decision to not help President Trump in that case. But for folks who are already skeptical of the Court, for folks who already view it as a deeply partisan, political institution, the fact that he is the sole dissenter, given what we know about Ginni Thomas’s involvement, sets off alarm bells.”

Pamela Brown of CNN fleshed out exactly how deeply involved Justice Thomas’ wife has been in trying to derail a full investigation of the Jan. 6 riots:

“The debate has continued because of Ginni Thomas’s ties to another issue before the court she sits on the advisory board of a conservative group, the National Association of Scholars. They submitted two legal briefs to the Supreme Court in favor of plaintiffs challenging affirmative action and admissions at two universities. Peter Wood is president of the organization, and said that she played no role in the legal briefs.”

The other conflict for Thomas is the revelation that he’s been in “regular contact” with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) via email, which was reported by Politico on Friday:

Emails handed over to American Oversight, a group that bills itself as a government watchdog, suggest that DeSantis is in regular contact with Justice Clarence Thomas. In June 2021, Thomas’ wife, Ginni, who runs her own consulting firm, worked with the DeSantis administration to have the governor talk to a coalition of groups, including people affiliated with Judicial Watch, the conservative organization that uses information requests and lawsuits to investigate public officials.

Why is a potential 2024 Republican presidential contender communicating with a sitting Supreme Court justice? Even if they’re only discussing the weather or the Super Bowl, the appearance suggests something less than kosher. And that alone could lead to calls for Thomas to be impeached.

Are there enough Republican senators willing to cross the aisle and remove Justice Thomas from the court? Probably not, but an impeachment trial might convince Thomas that the time has come for him to step down.

Clarence Thomas has always been an illegitimate member of the highest court in the land. And his actions since he joined the Supreme Court are proof that he doesn’t belong there.

WATCH Pro-Trumpers Get Tricked Into Agreeing The Bible Should Be Banned From Schools

All over the country, conservatives and right wingers are trying to have certain books banned from classrooms and school libraries because they insist the content of the books is inappropriate for young people.

NBC News compiled a list of 50 books that parents in Texas want removed from schools, including some that have impeccable literary credentials. Here’s a couple of examples:

“The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison: This classic novel by the Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison should be banned from schools, according to a parent in the Fort Worth suburb of Birdville, because it includes a graphic description of rape. 

“White Bird: A Wonder Story” by R.J. Palacio: A parent in the Spring Branch ISD said this graphic novel — about a Jewish teen living in France after Nazis seized power — should be banned because it’s “biased” and could lead to the “skewing of a young child’s mind.”

So exactly what is “acceptable” for young readers? The only possible solution would seem to be refusing to let young people read anything at all because they might encounter something that offends their parents.

But would the Bible be acceptable to those parents? Nope. Not even the “Good Book” gets a thumbs up from people who were interviewed by a group that calls itself the Good Liars, which consists of two guys, Jason Selvig and Davram Stiefler. They asked people if they thought the story of two daughters who get their father drunk (the story of Lot) and then have sex with him was something young people should read, according to the Daily Dot:

“There’s a book that we’ve seen that’s in libraries in lots of schools that features a story of two daughters having sex with their dad,” Jason Selvig said to a couple, one of whom was wearing a MAGA hat. 

In another clip, Davram Stiefler elaborates to a different women wearing an American flag pin: “They get their dad drunk to have sex with him.”

The reactions of all three people are strictly negative, with the couple immediately agreeing the book in question needs to be banned from schools.

“Why do kids need to read that?” MAGA Hat asks.

“That book is actually the Bible,” Stiefler tells the woman in the other clip, and suddenly, her whole demeanor changes. 

Think about it: Do you want your kids reading about incest and stoning people to death? Probably not. Which means you need to keep the Bible out of your house, the library, all churches, etc. Because someone might get the wrong idea and try to imitate that kind of behavior.

How sweet to see so much irony and hypocrisy wrapped in a neat package for the right-wing zealots to choke on.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Has Unhinged Meltdown After Her Hateful Anti-Trans Sign Is Vandalized

Shortly after she took office in early 2021, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) posted a disgusting sign outside her congressional office, which just so happened to be across the hall from another member of Congress who has a transgender child.

As CNN reported at the time:

Illinois Rep. Marie Newman, whose daughter is transgender, posted a video on Twitter of her hanging the pink and blue transgender pride flag outside her office Wednesday afternoon, captioning that Greene tried to block the act “because she believes prohibiting discrimination against trans Americans is ‘disgusting, immoral, and evil,'” adding, “thought we’d put up our Transgender flag so she can look at it every time she opens her door” with winking and transgender flag emojis.

That evening, Greene retweeted Newman’s post and added a video of her hanging a sign that reads “There are TWO genders: MALE & FEMALE …Trust The Science!”

Now, however, someone has decided to leave a message on Greene’s sign –“Free Palestine”– and it put her into an unhinged tizzy, taking to Telegram (because she’s been banned from Twitter) and posting a video that is just this side of deranged in which she angrily declares:

“I want you to know about the criminals who actually work in these office buildings, because I’ve been having to deal with them now for months and months.

“This sign is such a trigger factor for Democrats and apparently people who actually work in my office building — that they started vandalizing this sign, and then they stole the sign, so I’ve gone through six signs since early last year.”

But it’s what Greene says next in the video that’s so damn laughable:

“This is criminal activity. It’s vandalism, destruction of property, so when the person gets caught they’re going to be held accountable. But here’s the scary thing — they work in our building!”

Criminal activity? Is it as bad as what was done on January 6, which Greene has repeatedly tried to downplay? She even has the nerve to whine that the domestic terrorists who defaced the Capitol and killed a police officer on that horrific day are being mistreated while they’re incarcerated and awaiting trial. Which makes you wonder if Greene would be this enraged if someone had written “Free the J6 prisoners” on her beloved sign.

Near the end of her video, Greene tries to get sympathy by asserting that her life is in danger:

“Because if someone is this crazy, so crazy and deranged over a sign that says there are only two genders, male and female, and they keep attacking it … then obviously they may try to attack me personally.”

In one final hissy fit flourish, Greene talks about how much she hates being in Congress, which makes you wonder why she doesn’t just resign and not run for reelection in the midterms:

“Anyways, I just wanted to give y’all a little heads up on what actually happens in Washington — and it’s loserville, loserville in Washington. Absolute most pathetic place I’ve ever been in my life. Completely disgusts me. It’s totally dysfunctional. The Democrats are destroying our county, and then there’s idiots that have to run around and vandalize signs because they’re so triggered by the fact that there are only two genders.”

Poor Marjorie! She’s used to being a bully, but when someone pushes back or writes a message on her hallowed sign, she pitches a fit like a spoiled toddler.
