GOP Senator Gets Righteously Mocked For Saying He Wants ‘Jesus’ Instead Of ‘Reality’ In Children’s Books

Unless you live in the state of Oklahoma or are a U.S. Senate junkie, you’ve probably never heard of Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), but after today, you may never forget his name or the ridiculous things he said at a hearing on the banning of children’s books.

During a hearing of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, Mullin asked a witness if she thought a children’s book about race entitled Our Skin contained a better lesson on race than the well-known Christian church tune for kids, “Jesus Loves Me.”

Mullin began by reading a section of Our Skin which states that white people created a thing called “race” and then sorted humans based on their color.

“If you don’t want to answer my question, that’s fine. Let’s move on down the panel. Which one is better to be taught? This book or the ‘Jesus Loves Me’ lyrics, that say everybody’s skin doesn’t matter. They’re all precious in his sight,” Mullin angrily demanded.

Cheryl Morman, president of the Virginia Alliance for Family Child Care Associations said she agreed that Jesus was important, but Mullin cut her off to continue his ranting.

“So, which one is better?” he asked.

“But the reality is —” Morman began to respond, only to be interrupted by Mullin yet again.

After being admonished by committee chair Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to let the witness answer, Mullin started up again: “That doesn’t answer my question. You’re not answering my question. If you don’t want to answer my question, that’s fine,” he said in a shout.

Morman: “The reality is —”

“I don’t want reality! I’m asking the question! Which one is better? That’s exactly what it is,” Mullin thundered.

Committee members began laughing and one could be heard to say, “Got it on tape.”

Backing down from the reality statement, Mullin suggested he had misspoken, but added, “Jesus is always first.”

Jesus is always first, Senator Mullin? But what if the child was raised in an agnostic or atheist household? What if the child is Muslin, or Jewish, or another denomination that doesn’t accept Jesus as savior? Are we supposed to force-feed Jesus to them? And if so, does that mean that next week we can require the Koran be read by all students? What about the Book of Satan? Will we also put that on school reading lists?

Religion has it’s place. But that place is NOT in a public school, no matter what Jesus freaks like Sen. Mullin say.

Mullin was also mocked on Twitter:

Recent Photo Of Incredibly Frail Looking Trump Has People Asking If He’ll Make It To 2024

Republicans absolutely love to make fun of President Joe Biden, suggesting that he’s too old to be head of state or that he’s mentally unfit to serve.

Of course, those same people were fond of saying how vital and healthy failed one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump looked, despite the fact that he appeared to weigh at least 300 pounds and was known to prefer fast food to anything healthy.

And yet, ever since he left office, we’ve seen photos and videos of Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in which he looks like he’s about to fall over and require CPR.

In February, we got this video of the indicted ex-president:

And earlier this month we had this one of Trump with a strange red mark on his forehead:

Now you can add a new photo of the convicted sexual assaulter taken recently in Florida, and in it Trump looks frail and downright deathly.

Holy shit! He died and no one bothered to tell him!

Is is just me, or does he look like he wouldn’t know his own name if you asked him to identify himself? They say he’s 76, but he looks closer to 90 in that photo.

Contrast that with how Biden looked today while speaking at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in honor of Memorial Day.

He looks pretty damn vital, especially when you consider he’s four years older than Trump.

The new photo of Trump drew plenty of comments on Twitter.

Trump’s Hateful Memorial Day Message: ‘We Must Stop The Communists, Marxists, And Fascist Pigs!’

As the nation honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the United States on this Memorial Day, failed and indicted former president Donald Trump decided he’d defile the memory of those who died in battle by posting an all-caps screed on his Truth Social site in which he railed against “communists, Marxists, and fascist pigs!”

“HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL, BUT ESPECIALLY TO THOSE WHO GAVE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE FOR THE COUNTRY THEY LOVE, AND TO THOSE IN LINE OF A VERY DIFFERENT, BUT EQUALLY DANGEROUS FIRE, STOPPING THE THREATS OF THE TERRORISTS, MISFITS AND LUNATIC THUGS WHO ARE WORKING FEVERISHLY FROM WITHIN TO OVERTURN AND DESTROY OUR ONCE GREAT COUNTRY, WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN IN GREATER PERIL THAN IT IS RIGHT NOW,. WE MUST STOP THE COMMUNISTS, MARXISTS AND FASCIST ‘PIGS’ AT EVERY TURN AND, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

How exactly does that honor the memories of the millions who have died to protect the freedoms we enjoy in this country? And what gives Trump the right to complain about anything when the legal peril he’s facing is his own damn fault?

Just last month, the disgraced ex-president had to surrender to authorities in Manhattan after being indicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records, and video of that event made it clear that he was seething as he faced the consequences of his actions:

Trump may also be indicted soon in Georgia and by the Department of Justice. He’s been criming his entire life, and now that he’s having to pay the piper for those crimes, he’s lashing out because he thinks he’s above the law.

Here’s hoping by this time next year the Donald will be in prison for the rest of his pathetic life.

Tuberville Gets Ripped A New One For Saying ‘Inner City’ Teachers May Not Be Able To ‘Read And Write’

Alabama Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville has long been known as a bigoted and idiotic piece of human waste, but comments he made during an appearance on Donald Trump Jr’s “Triggered” podcast are drawing almost universal criticism across the political spectrum.

During a discussion of education, Tuberville remarked, “The Covid really brought it out how bad our schools are and how bad our teachers are, in the inner city. Most of them in the inner city, I don’t know how they got degrees.”

He then added:

“I don’t know whether they can read and write. And they want a raise. They want less time to work, less time in school. It’s just, we’ve ruined work ethic in this country. We don’t work at it anymore. We push an easy life.”

Tuberville also let loose with this morsel of profound personal ignorance:

“If you can’t read and if you can’t write, you can’t live in a country like this and not have somebody help you make it through life, which is what a lot of this government wants.”

Keep in mind that before the state of Alabama elected him to the Senate, Tuberville was a college football coach. It’s safe to say he probably had some players who couldn’t read or write and needed help, too, but that’s OK because they had the athletic ability he needed to exploit in order to justify his salary, which was in the millions.

Oh, and it’s also instructive to know the following about the state of Alabama: It’s ranked 46th among the 50 states when it comes to its educational system. Kind of makes you wonder if more than a few of Tuberville’s constituents are also deficient when it comes to reading and writing skills.

One good thing did come from Tuberville’s bigoted remarks: The social media whupping he took.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Pays $100,000 To Purchase Used Chapstick That Belonged To Kevin McCarthy

For some reason known only to her, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has just paid $100,000 to obtain a chchapstick that once belonged to Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

According to Olivia Beavers of Politico, House Republicans had a fundraising auction on Tuesday morning and one of the items up for bid was the McCarthy chapstick.

“NEW: During GOP conference today, House Rs did about a 15-min fundraising auction for chapstick used by Speaker McCarthy. The winner: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), whose winning bid was $100,000, her Spox confirms to me.”

“Others bid on it as well, but MTG ultimately won: And as bidding went on, McCarthy would sweeten the deal, throwing in agreeing to attend a dinner with donors/supporters for whoever wins.”

Keep in mind that Republicans in Congress are currently holding the entire country hostage with their absurd demands for massive cuts to the federal budget before they agree to raise the debt ceiling, but they still had time for a frivolous fundraiser.

Also, where in the hell did Greene get 100K to buy a damn chapstick? Is she using her taxpayer-funded salary to make that bid, or did she get the cash from a donor?

Twitter users had some thoughts on the matter, too.
