Donald Trump Elections GOP WTF?!

Why Are Members Of The Trump Family Threatening To ‘Hurt’ Ron DeSantis?

Even though failed one-term former president Donald Trump is currently running 36 points ahead of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the latest polls for who will be the 2024 GOP presidential nominee, members of the ex-president’s family seem to be threatening physical violence against DeSantis.

During an appearance on Newsmax Saturday, Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is engaged to marry Donald Trump Jr. (and was dismissed from Fox because she sexually harassed female staffers), had this to say:

“If you are going to run against Donald Trump, you are going to get hurt and damaged badly. That is the problem. So by the time Trump is done, we saw this before, 16 people one after the next fell off the stage. You’re gonna end up in the junkyard. You’re not going to be in good shape for 2028.”

She added:

“That’s just a fact. I don’t think anybody’s going to dispute that. And I understand that Ron DeSantis has some support. You know the billionaire Boys Club, the big boys giving him some cash. Great. Donald Trump has the base. It’s Trump’s Republican Party. He’s 1000% going to be the nominee. He’s going to crush it in the primary.”

What in the hell is that all about? Did Guilfoyle suddenly join the mafia as a verbal hit woman who goes out and gets rid of anyone who dares to run against her future father-in-law?

If Trump is the inevitable 2024 Republican nominee, then DeSantis is no threat and if anything the Trump camp should simply ignore him. Why give free publicity to your opponent if you’re on a glidepath to the nomination?

The Trump camp is terrified of DeSantis. Not because he’s such a strong candidate (he isn’t), but because they know their client is badly flawed and facing multiple criminal indictments in the very near future. And while some may maintain those indictments will strengthen Trump among the GOP base, that’s not a sure thing and it could just as well drag his poll numbers down.

Expect the threats from the Trump camp to continue. After all, they’re just a pack of thugs who think they can bully their way back into the White House. But as we saw in 2020, that sort of nastiness wears thin with voters very quickly. It makes people despise you. And we don’t vote for people we hate.
