Rachel Maddow Warns: This Is How The GOP Plans To Cause ‘Maximum Chaos’ In The 2024 Election

Even though the momentum of the 2024 race for the White House has shifted from failed former president Donald Trump to Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democrats in recent weeks, the November 5 election is expected to be incredibly close, perhaps coming down to a few thousand votes in several key battleground states.

If Harris does manage to prevail in November, that doesn’t guarantee she will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow warns in a terrifying op/ed for the New York Times.

“Election boards across the country now include Republican officials who have not only propounded Mr. Trump’s lies about the last presidential election being ‘stolen,’ they have tested how far they can go in denying the certification of the vote,” Maddow writes. “Republicans tried this ploy more than two dozen times in at least eight states since 2020.”

How would this look if Republicans decided to try and contest the 2024 results? With “legal challenges” and “certification refusals” by MAGA Republicans, especially in states such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, all of which went for President Joe Biden in 2020 by narrow margins, Maddow explains.

“The point of these certification refusals may not be to falsify or flip a result, but simply to prevent the emergence of one. If one or more states fail to produce official results, blocking any candidate from reaching 270 electoral votes, the 12th Amendment prescribes Gerald L.K. Smith’s dream scenario: a vote in the newly elected House of Representatives to determine the presidency.”

Once the election was before the House of Representatives, here’s what would take place, Maddow continues: “Each state delegation would get one vote; today, Republicans control 26 state delegations; Democrats control 22; and two are evenly divided…. No one should be surprised when certification refusals happen or when they are then exploited to try to maximize chaos and upset.”

“After all, the Republican nominee this year is no Richard Nixon.”

With the House controlled by Republicans, it would be easy for the GOP to pull off the ultimate legal coup: Choosing the next president despite the will of the voters who cast their ballots for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, likely with the full blessings of the right-leaning Supreme Court, which has shown it has no problem stacking the deck for Republicans and giving the next president absolute immunity from prosecution.

The solution to this nightmare is for those of us who care about the United States to vote in massive numbers that cannot possibly be denied or overturned. Then we can begin to heal and repair the country that Republicans seem hell-bent on trying to burn to the ground.

Rachel Maddow: Trump’s Choice Of J.D. Vance As Running Mate Is Already Backfiring On Him

Convicted and disgraced former president Donald Trump probably thought his choice of Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) as his running mate was a brilliant move, according to MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, but it’s already backfiring on him and could cost him the election.

Trump picked Vance, Maddow explained, because he thought he would be running against President Joe Biden, who dropped out of the race on Sunday. Donald thought he needed to shore up support from conservatives instead of reaching out to independent and undecided voters, she added.

“He wanted him for governing, not campaigning.”

“They picked J.D. Vance because they thought they had this election in the bag, and Joe Biden did this today, and now it is an absolutely different ball game.”

“J.D. Vance and Donald Trump are going to lose in November and Donald Trump is going to regret picking J.D. Vance as his running mate.”

Vance’s extreme positions on the issues of abortion, contraception, and no-fault divorce, Maddow noted, are not popular with the vast majority of Americans.

“Any Democrat who can talk about the kinds of issues where J.D. Vance has taken the kinds of stances … those are not 50/50 issues in this country. They are not 60/40. He is taking the kind of stances that single digits of Americans support.”

Maddow concluded her remarks with this: “You do not need any type of Democrat in particular to prosecute a case against J.D. Vance. He is a real weirdo from a really, really narrow slice of the far right side of the ideological doctrine.”

“They picked him because they didn’t think he would have to be defending himself at all. Because he thought he didn’t need to compete very hard to win, he picked J.D. Vance. He picked someone who’s not going to help him at all.”

Looks like Biden may have managed to completely screw up the GOP’s election strategy. And if we’re lucky, it’ll cost them big time when the votes are counted.

Rachel Maddow Has A Brutal Fact-Check For The Trump Faithful – And It’s Perfect

Even though he coasted to an easy 30-point win in the Iowa caucus on Monday evening, things are not all rainbows and unicorns for failed one-term, twice-impeached ex-president Donald Trump.

As MSNBC host Rachel Maddow noted while the results trickled in from the Hawkeye State, Donald is facing some major obstacles to winning a second term in office, and most of those can be found on the legal front.

Referencing a poll from Iowa that shows 63% of Republicans think Trump is fit to serve as president even if he’s convicted of a felony, Maddow explained that means there are still more than a third of GOP voters who believe Trump shouldn’t be returned to the White House if he’s convicted.

Maddow added:

“They’re going to nominate him nationwide?” Maddow asked incredulously. “When even a third of Iowa caucusgoers say, ‘No, he can’t be president if he’s convicted’?”

“I’m sorry. But he’s gonna be convicted.”

Legal analyst Ari Melber was quick to interject that while there’s “overwhelming evidence” in the four criminal cases Trump is facing, one can’t “say what’s going to happen” in those.

Maddow: “I can. He’s gonna be convicted.”

That prompted a torrent of comments on social media.

Rachel Maddow Predicts What Trump Will Do Next – And It’s Chilling

Recent remarks from failed former president Donald Trump in which he called those opposed to him “vermin” are part of larger plan by him to destroy the power of words that are being used against him, according to MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, and that suggests some very dark days are ahead for this country.

Speaking with fellow MSNBC host Chris Hayes, Maddow explained:

“The use of the word ‘vermin’ and with the way that he’s calling his enemies ‘fascist’ — he’s started calling you and me and anybody who’s not Team Trump a fascist.”

Much the way he did with the term “fake news,” Maddow continued, Trump wants to take all the sting out of being labeled a fascist, making it irrelevant:

“He has to save the world from the fascist. And he’s using this terminology which is overtly and obviously fascist callback language: ‘Enemy of the People’ yeah okay, but calling the internal enemy ‘vermin’ that needs to be exterminated — he knows what he’s doing.”

If you doubt that Trump is indeed trying to inoculate the public from terms such as “vermin” and “fascist,” consider how his campaign spokesperson, Steven Cheung, reacted when those terms were used by Trump on social media recently.

“Those who try to make that ridiculous assertion are clearly snowflakes grasping for anything because they are suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Chung warned. “And their entire existence will be crushed when President Trump returns to the White House.”

Their entire existence will be crushed. That’s the same sort of language Adolf Hitler used against anyone who dared to oppose him. And it resulted in 11 million people perishing in the Holocaust.

Is that what we want to see happen in this country?

Here’s the video from MSNBC:

Lauren Boebert Tried To Throw Shade At Rachel Maddow And Got Her A*s Handed To Her

Republican Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has owned herself once again with a moronic tweet she sent out suggesting that the Biden administration must have “learned about governing” from watching MSBNC host Rachel Maddow’s show.

“Most of the Biden Regime learned about governing from watching Rachel Maddow and it really shows.”

Over the past several months, Boebert has also urged Christians to pray for the death of President Joe Biden and even tried to blame him for the 2020 shutdown of schools across the United States as part of the nationwide COVID lockdown.

As for her attack on Maddow, let’s compare their resumés:

  • Maddow holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Stanford University and a doctorate in political science from the University of Oxford.
  • Boebert needed multiple attempts to finally pass her GED high school equivalency exam. She is also a failed small businessperson and married to a man who once exposed himself to underage girls at a bowling alley.

Boebert’s tweet aimed at Maddow is especially ironic when you consider that the Trump administration was regularly on the very same page with Fox News (and vice versa) during Donald Trump’s failed presidency.

The Colorado Republican’s tweet was immediately swarmed with reminders of recent history and her lack of awareness.
