Sen. John Kennedy Gets His A*s Handed To Him When He Asks A Fact-Free Question About Abortion

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) was fact-checked and shut down by a witness who testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday during a hearing on the topic of abortion.

According to HuffPost, Kennedy tried to suggest that many women have abortions in the third term of their pregnancies.

“At a Senate subcommittee hearing that focused on interstate travel for abortions as more states restrict the procedure, Kennedy mentioned a woman who supposedly asked for an abortion in her 34th week of pregnancy.”

Kennedy asked one witness, “Should the mother at that juncture have the right — clearly a viable child — to abort the child?”

When the witness told the senator she didn’t want to engage in hypotheticals, Kennedy began visible agitated.

“That’s what your side always says. My example’s not unrealistic. I wanna save my time. If your answer’s gonna be, ‘That never happens,’ let me go to Ms. Frye. What do you think?”

Ms. Frye is Jocelyn Frye, the president of the National Partnership for Women & Families, and she proceeded to lay a verbal smackdown on Kennedy.

“Well, Senator, first of all, if you– don’t ask a question if you don’t want to know the answer. But I’m saying to you, Senator, 1%, 1% of abortions happen at 21 weeks or later. So, I think the premise of your question sets up a conversation about abortion that is unfair. It is rarely, is that ever the instance. Most, the vast majority of pregnancies and abortions that are considered late in a pregnancy have to do with severe, devastating medical circumstances.”

Frye continued, “And I understand your point, Senator. I understand your point. But with all due respect, I also think the chances of people sort of getting all the way through a pregnancy and just sort of saying, ‘I don’t want it,’ is disrespectful to women.”

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) posted a video of the exchange between Kennedy and Frye on Twitter, along with his take on the matter.

“At my hearing on the freedom to travel for abortion care, Senator Kennedy asked our witnesses to respond to a sensationalized, highly unrealistic hypothetical aimed at stoking fear. Ms. Frye’s response says it all.”

Others on social media also praised Frye for effectively countering Kennedy’s blatant lie.

The right of every American woman to make he own reproductive choices is on the ballot in November, and it could wind up being the issue that makes the GOP a permanent minority party.

Democrat Swats Down His GOP Colleagues By Turning One Of Their Favorite Insults Back On Them

Democratic Congressman Jim McGovern (MA) is fed up with his GOP House colleagues who defend convicted felon Donald Trump yet happily attack Hunter Biden, who was found guilty Tuesday of three federal gun crimes.

According to Mediaite, McGovern used the verdict against President Joe Biden’s son as the jumping off point for a larger argument.

The Massachusetts lawmaker juxtaposed Republicans’ reaction to Trump’s criminal conviction last month to Democrats’ response to Hunter Biden’s conviction on Tuesday. Trump was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records and the president’s son was found guilty on three gun-related charges. In the former instance, Republicans slammed the verdict and even claimed President Joe Biden was behind the state charges in New York. Meanwhile, regarding his son, the president said he accepts the outcome of his son’s trial.

McGovern began by contrasting Hunter Biden’s actions after he was found guilty with Trump’s constant whining since a jury convicted him last month.

“Did Hunter Biden walk out of the courthouse this morning and slam the judge or the prosecutors? Did he claim some vast conspiracy to weaponize the legal system against him? No, he did not. In a statement on the verdict, President Biden said, ‘I will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process.'”

He then added, “Now I ask, after the verdict this morning, how can any Republican in their right mind argue that the Biden administration is weaponizing the DOJ to hurt Republicans and to help Democrats? They just convicted the president’s own son, to say nothing of the fact that the Department of Justice is currently trying a Democratic senator and has indicted a Democratic member of this House. I mean, do Republicans still believe that President Biden is weaponizing the justice system? Because if he is, he’s sure doing a lousy job.”

So who, McGovern wondered, is truly suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome?

“And as usual, the only Trump derangement syndrome going on around here is on the other side of the aisle. I mean, people are saying that Biden orchestrated the conviction of his own son in order to justify the criminal charges against Trump. That is how you think when you are in a cult. So, here’s the bottom line. Republicans just can’t wrap their heads around the idea that their presidential candidate, your presumptive nominee, is a convicted felon. That is not the result of a sham process or some vast conspiracy by the Biden administration. That is a result of the truth. And these attacks on our justice system have to come to a stop.”

Say what you want about Democrats, but at least their candidate for president isn’t a felon who’s facing a prison sentence next month.

And say what you want about Hunter Biden, but at least he’s admitted his mistakes and is working to change his life for the better. That’s something Donald Trump isn’t capable of doing.

Republicans Mocked For Claiming It Takes ‘Your Whole Paycheck’ To Eat At The Cheesecake Factory

Did you know that if you decide to have lunch or dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in New York, your tab will likely use up your entire paycheck?

You didn’t know that? There’s a good reason you didn’t: Because it’s a blatant lie.

And yet, that lie is being peddled by House Republicans on social media, with a posting from the House Judiciary Committee.

So let’s take a few minutes to deconstruct and debunk the numerous lies in that tweet.

Flying to New York affordably is still possible, with a fare from Atlanta to the Big Apple costing less than $150. According to Expedia, you can do so for as little as $111.

As for getting robbed in Times Square, the latest crime figures from New York show that major crimes are down, with nearly 500 fewer major crimes in April of this year when compared to 2023.

Hotels overrun with illegal aliens? Also a lie, with New York City Mayor Eric Adams issuing an eviction order for such residences in January.

That brings us to the cost of eating at the Cheesecake Factory in New York, where a quick look at the menu shows you can have a Bistro Burger for $17.95, which is certainly not the average American’s pay for the month or even for a week.

It didn’t take long for online mockery to reach a fever pitch.

MT Greene Brutally Heckled By Protesters At GOP Rally: ‘Get The F*ck Out Of My State!’ 

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) showed up in Virginia this week to campaign on behalf of a fellow right-wing extremist GOP candidate for Congress, but she didn’t stay long as protesters heckled and verbally excoriated her until she turned tail and left in disgrace.

According to the Daily Progress, Greene was in Albemarle County to campaign for Republican John McGuire, who is running in Virginia’s 5th Congressional District against incumbent Congressman Bob Good.

Greene and McGuire arrived at a polling station at the Albemarle County Social Services building Wednesday in a bus emblazoned with the name and likeness of former President Donald Trump, who recently endorsed McGuire over Good. That endorsement came two days before Trump became the first former president to be convicted of a felony for using hush money payments to influence his 2016 election.

However, it soon became clear that Greene was not welcome in the county, as she was met by dozens of protesters who let her know exactly what they thought of her.

“Are you having fun?” one protester yelled toward the bus. “You didn’t have to come here. You could have gone somewhere else.”

Another protester told the controversial Greene, “A real Charlottesville welcome, bitch,” while others angrily shouted, “Get the f*ck out of my state!”

Five minutes later, Greene and McGuire were back on the Trump-emblazoned bus, clearly shaken by what had happened and trying to put a positive spin the debacle, with McGuire’s campaign issuing a statement that read, “Deranged leftists hell-bent on destroying this country. Just like President Trump, we won’t be afraid to stand up to the radical left. This is why we need to get rid of Bob Good. We can’t afford backstabbers when the USA is at stake.”

While Greene may well be a darling of convicted felon Donald Trump and others in the extremist MAGA movement that has taken over the GOP, it’s clear that her appeal is limited and may even wind up being detrimental to the candidates she endorses. And the same can be said for Trump, whose approval rating has continued to tank since he was found guilty in Manhattan.

Comments on social media also suggest that Greene isn’t going to win any popularity contest.

Jamie Raskin Brutally Trolls The GOP At House Hearing: ‘Some Of Them Blindly Worship Convicted Felons’

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) lit into members of the GOP for their undying loyalty to convicted felon/presidential candidate Donald Trump during a House hearing on the origins of COVID-19.

The witness was former National Institutes of Health Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, and Raskin told him, “The claim was essentially that you tried to cover up the possibility of there having been a laboratory leak, which, of course, is perfectly possible. And if this committee were doing its job, we could actually be working to advance the investigation of that. But they would rather assert that you tried to cover up this possibility.”

Fauci told Raskin that he had spent his entire life working to find the cause of diseases such as COVID.

“Well, Dr. Fauci, I want to join my colleague from Florida in apologizing to you that some of our colleagues in the United States House of Representatives seem to want to drag your name through the mud,” Raskin said. “They’re treating you, Dr. Fauci, like a convicted felon.”

And then the congressman put his Republican colleagues on notice regarding their willingness to embrace a man who was convicted on 34 felony counts just last week.

“Actually, you probably wish they were treating you like a convicted felon. They treat convicted felons with love and admiration. Some of them blindly worship convicted felons.”

Republicans are the biggest hypocrites on the face of the planet. They scream about “law and order” and then give their undying loyalty to a man who lies, cheats, rapes, and steals.

The only way to counter the lawlessness of the GOP is to vote every last one of them out in November.
