Fox News host Maria Bartiromo is so terrified that President Joe Biden will win the 2024 election that she’s begging House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) to speed up the process.
Jordan was a guest on “Sunday Morning Futures,” and was asked by the host:
Jordan responded:
That’s when Bartiromo revealed her desperation:
Jordan: “He said they come after him because he’s fighting for us. That is true. That’s what the swamp does. They’re going after President Trump because he kept his word, and he’s fighting for us.”
Trump kept his word? On what? The man is a pathological liar who belongs behind bars for the next 50 years.
While Republicans like to say they’re confident Trump can win in 2024, Bartiromo just made it clear they’re worried the multiply-indicted loser ex-president will only manage a victory with help if his opponent is impeached, something that happened to the Donald not once, but twice.
MSNBC host Ari Melber has an important message for those who still support failed former president Donald Trump despite the fact that he’s been hit with 91 criminal charges and continues to claim he actually won the 2020 election.
HuffPost reports that Melber addressed the ongoing election denialism that’s rampant among many Trumpers on his show Thursday.
Parroting of the former president’s false claims that he won the 2020 election “has actually hurt the party’s ability to listen and get anywhere near competitive,” said Melber, noting GOP losses in Tuesday’s 2023 elections.
“The Republican Party, under Trump’s election denialism, has been lying to itself, and that doesn’t work, which brings us to an iconic and true lesson from ‘Scarface,’” he continued.
Melber then played a clip from “Scarface” in which drug kingpin Tony Montana is warned, “Don’t get high on your own supply.”
That led the host to note:
“You could be dealing, you could be lying, you could be giving in to others, but when you start dealing to yourself, when you and your own team are getting high, losing your sense of reality, losing your sobriety, politically and otherwise, well, well you really played yourself.”
“Trump pushed the party into spending years high on its own supply, demanding it, making it a kind of a litmus test that future candidates running in unrelated elections had to get high on his supply and lie and pretend he didn’t even lose the race he lost.”
Believing lies and conspiracy theories is a losing strategy. If you need proof of that, look no further than the 2020 election, the 2022 midterms, and the massive losses suffered by Republicans on Tuesday in Kentucky, Ohio, and Virginia.
Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was asked today if he thought Congress would be better off if Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is expelled from the body and made it clear that he still blames the Florida Republican for his ouster from the top post in the House.
Manu Raju was interviewing McCarthy and asked him directly, “How much would the Republican Party benefit if he were no longer a member of the House, in your opinion?”
McCarthy replied:
So does that mean Gaetz needs to be removed? Raju inquired.
McCarthy: “That’s up to the conference. But I mean, I don’t believe the conference will ever heal if there’s no consequences for the action.”
You may recall that it was Gaetz who led the effort that resulted in McCarthy becoming the first House speaker in U.S. history to be removed from the post, as CNN reported in October.
Gaetz said Monday that he has “enough Republicans” to either push McCarthy from the speakership or make him cut a deal with Democrats to remain in power.
“I have enough Republicans where at this point next week, one of two things will happen. Kevin McCarthy won’t be the speaker of the House, or he’ll be the speaker of the House working at the pleasure of the Democrats. And I’m at peace with either result, because the American people deserve to know who governs them,” he told CNN’s Manu Raju.
Reportedly, the main reason Gaetz wanted McCarthy ousted is because the former speaker refused to put an end to an ongoing House Ethics Committee investigation of Gaetz for alleged drug use and sex with underage girls, both of which could indeed cost him his House seat.
Sounds like McCarthy is now ready for some major payback.
Hours before his daughter Ivanka is scheduled to testify in the New York fraud trail that could spell the dissolution of the Trump Organization, failed one-term, twice-impeached, and multiply-indicted former president Donald Trump went on a midnight social media rant, accusing state Attorney General Letitia James of being “Corrupt and Racist.”
“Tomorrow my wonderful and beautiful daughter, Ivanka, is going to the Lower Manhattan Courthouse, at the direction of Letitia Peekaboo James, the Corrupt and Racist New York State Attorney General, who has allowed Murder and Violent Crime in New York to flourish, and a Trump Hating, out of control Clubhouse appointed Judge, Arthur Engoron, who viciously ruled against me before the trial even started, wouldn’t even consider a Jury, and said that Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida, is worth $18,000,000 when, in fact, it is worth 50 to 100 times that amount.”
The disgraced ex-president added:
“Other properties likewise. Based on this information, which is so ridiculous, he said that I was a Fraud, when in fact it is Letitia James and the Judge who are Fraudulent for setting such LOW VALUATIONS in order to undermine and discredit my Financial Statements, thereby making me look bad – Election Interference! Now they are trying to bring Ivanka into the case, despite the Court of Appeals ruling that she cannot be charged. Sad!”
Indeed, Ivanka has not been charged as part of the systematic fraud the Trump Organization was found guilty of in New York. The judge in the case is now trying to determine what financial penalty should be imposed, and with interest and penalties, the total bill for years of bank and tax fraud could exceed $600 million, according to Trump’s former attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen, who noted recently during an appearance on MSNBC:
During his testimony this morning as part of an ongoing fraud trail against him and his company, former president Donald Trump exploded under cross-examination and accused the court of being a “fraud” and also attacked New York Attorney General Letitia James, who brought the case against him.
The disgraced ex-president began complaining from the moment he took the stand, telling presiding judge Arthur Engoron that he shouldn’t have to explain anything because all of his financial statements included a disclaimer.
In response, Engoron told Trump, “If you want to learn about the disclaimer clause, read my opinion — for the first time.”
Things went downhill from there, with Trump suggesting the court had no right to question him or his business practices.
Then came the lashing out at James, with Trump railing, “The fraud is her!”
That was followed by this outburst:
Keep digging that hole deeper, Donnie. The only person you hurt is yourself.
