White House Press Secretary Suggests The Constitution Is ‘Unconstitutional’

White House Press Secretary (i.e. Paid Bullshitter) Karoline Leavitt held her first press briefing on Tuesday, and based on some of the things she said in response to questions from the news media, it’s safe to assume her only qualifications for the job are that she’s got blonde hair and Perv-in-Chief Donald Trump finds her attractive.

At one point, Leavitt told reporters, “This administration believes that birthright citizenship is unconstitutional.”

So the 14th Amendment to the Constitution violates the Constitution? Wow! The sound you hear right now is Thomas Jefferson spinning in his grave at 10,000 revolutions a second.

Here’s what the 14th Amendment says:

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

That could not possibly be any clearer. If you’re born in the United States, you’re a citizen. That also applies if you aren’t born here but later naturalized and become a citizen. That’s inviolable. It might just as well be written in stone like the Ten Commandments right-wingers are so fond of forcing down children’s throats even though the same Constitution calls for a separation of church and state.

According to Time, the issue of birthright citizenship has been challenged before.

“The most recent attempt to litigate the issue occurred in 2004, when then-law professor John Eastman co-authored an amicus brief in Hamdi v. Rumsfeld, a case concerning the due process rights of an accused “enemy combatant” and U.S. citizen whom the United States military had captured in Afghanistan. Eastman’s brief urged the court to rule that Hamdi was not a U.S. citizen because Hamdi’s parents were foreign nationals who were in the United States on temporary visas at the time of his birth. The argument failed: the first line of the court’s decision described the case as being about “the legality of the Government’s detention of a United States citizen on United States soil as an ‘enemy combatant.’” Eastman, who has served in the past as a legal advisor to Trump, is currently fighting disbarment and facing criminal charges, to which he has pleaded not guilty, relating to his role in seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.”

But despite that and other rulings from various federal courts on the issue of birthright citizenship, the Trump administration seems eager to try yet another challenge to the 14th Amendment. Still, even with a 6-3 right-wing majority on the current Supreme Court, it seems unlikely they’ll succeed.

Leavitt’s bizarre Orwellian declaration drew lots of commentary online.

Puppy Killer Kristi Noem Gets Hit With A GIANT Dose Of Internet Karma For Cosplaying As An ICE Agent

Having been confirmed by the Senate last week to head the Department of Homeland Security, puppy murderer Kristi Noem thought it’d be a good idea to put on a costume and pretend to be some kind of tough “hombre” so she could send the MAGA faithful into orgasmic spasms of pseudo-Nazi delight.

Noem posted a video of herself wearing the vest of an ICE agent as she told viewers, “Here in New York City this morning, we are getting the dirtbags off these streets.”

Of course, the irony of Noem’s video is that if she really wanted to rid the country of dirtbags, she’d have suited up, marched in, and arrested Felon-in-Chief Donald Trump in the Oval Office.

Also, could anyone be a bigger dirtbag than Noem herself, who proudly confessed to killing her family’s dog simply because he didn’t do exactly what she told him to?

In a book published last year, Noem recalled the murder of her pet, as reported by The Guardian.

Cricket the untrainable dog, Noem writes, behaved like “a trained assassin”.

When Noem finally grabbed Cricket, she says, the dog “whipped around to bite me”. Then, as the chickens’ owner wept, Noem repeatedly apologised, wrote the shocked family a check “for the price they asked, and helped them dispose of the carcasses littering the scene of the crime”.

Through it all, Noem says, Cricket was “the picture of pure joy”.

“I hated that dog,” Noem writes, adding that Cricket had proved herself “untrainable”, “dangerous to anyone she came in contact with” and “less than worthless … as a hunting dog”.

“At that moment,” Noem says, “I realised I had to put her down.”

Noem, who also represented her state in Congress for eight years, got her gun, then led Cricket to a gravel pit.

“It was not a pleasant job,” she writes, “but it had to be done. And after it was over, I realised another unpleasant job needed to be done.”

Dirtbag? That would be none other than Kristi Noem, who should rot in perdition for all eternity after what she did to Cricket.

Social media also had some harsh words for Noem.

Officials Call Bullsh*t On Trump’s Claim He Has ‘TURNED ON THE WATER’ In California

Even though he long ago proved that he lies about everything, Braggart-in-Chief Donald Trump has outdone himself by claiming that thanks to him and the U.S. military, the water is back on in California.

In a post on social media Monday, Trump blared, “The United States Military just entered the Great State of California and, under Emergency Powers, TURNED ON THE WATER flowing abundantly from the Pacific Northwest, and beyond. The days of putting a Fake Environmental argument, over the PEOPLE, are OVER. Enjoy the water, California!!!”

However, as the California Department of Water Resources noted, no such thing happened and once again Donnie is letting the entire world know that he’s full of shit.

“The military did not enter California. The federal government restarted federal water pumps after they were offline for maintenance for three days. State water supplies in Southern California remain plentiful.”

As officials in the Golden State continue to fight the last wildfires still burning and provide aid to those who have been impacted by the blazes that have devastated large areas of Southern California, Trump continues to try and politicize the tragedy, according to Newsweek.

On Friday, Trump signed an executive order instructing federal agencies to “maximize” water delivery to California and “override” state policies where they deem it necessary.

The executive order claimed that during the recent Los Angeles wildfires “firefighters were unable to fight the blaze due to dry hydrants, empty reservoirs, and inadequate water infrastructure.”

Trump’s latest bluster and bragging was met with anger and mockery online.

In other news, Trump will be parting the Red Sea later today so that he can take credit and claim to be God Almighty.

Democrats Planning To Use GOP Tactic To Block Trump’s Extreme Agenda

 

For years, Republicans in Congress have repeatedly used one threat to gain concessions from Democratic presidents, and now they’re about to get a taste of their own medicine as they try to get Felon-in-chief Donald Trump’s legislative priorities passed.

As both the House and Senate prepare to consider budget cuts and other fiscal issues that are high on the Trump administration’s agenda, Democrats are looking to use the threat of a national default as a way to force major concessions from the White House, according to a report from the Washington Post.

“The days of Democrats just voting to raise the debt ceiling under a Republican president, they need to be over, period,” said Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-PA), the top-ranking member on the House Budget Committee. “We need to make sure that Democratic priorities are met if we are in any way going to vote to increase the debt ceiling. But at the very least, we need to make sure there’s a permanent resolution to the perennial debt ceiling dysfunction.”

Boyle will introduce legislation that would authorize the Treasury Department to continue borrowing money to pay the federal government’s obligations. But it would also contain guarantees that would protect both Medicare and Social Security, which some Republicans have suggested should be slashed to offset the cost of massive tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires. The same bill would also permanently eliminate the debt ceiling, something Trump has been advocating.

“He brings it up every time and all the time,” Rep. Kevin Hern (R-OK) remarked after attending a meeting at the White House last week.

Not surprisingly, the obstacle to any real debt limit reform can be found among the GOP. Many in the House Republican caucus are saying they cannot support an end to the borrowing limit unless they get massive cuts in federal spending.

But Republicans are also having to face the reality that their majority in the House is so small that they can’t pass anything without crossover votes from their Democratic colleagues, some of whom are unwilling to cooperate with the GOP.

“I am against these ideas to raise the debt ceiling in order to provide more tax breaks for billionaires — the end,” said Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR). “That is my prism and my test for getting into this issue.”

And that means Democrats have major leverage over the GOP, according to Michael Strain, director of economic policy studies at the right-leaning American Enterprise Institute.

“I think trying to trade their votes on suspending the debt ceiling for something like ‘don’t cut Medicaid or don’t cut food stamps,’ that’d be a wasted opportunity. That would just be kind of fiddling around the edges of these programs when they could do something more meaningful and lasting.”

In other words, Elon Musk and his superrich friends may not be getting any tax cuts after all, and there’s not a damn thing they or their handpicked president can do about it other than whine.

Trump Pats Himself On The Back After Kansas City Chiefs Secure Super Bowl Berth

Shortly after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills on Sunday evening in the AFC Championship game and secured their third straight appearance in the Super Bowl, Braggart-in-Chief Donald Trump decided it was time for him to glom some of the luster from the game.

Taking to to social media, Trump posted, “Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs. What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers. Likewise, congratulations to the Buffalo Bills on a tremendous season. They will do a lot of winning long into the future!!!”

Once again, Trump is attempting to take credit for something he had NOTHING to do with. He played no role whatsoever in the game other than watching it on TV. And you can bet he would have tried to steal the spotlight from the Bills if they’d been victorious.

Keep in mind that the Chiefs also played in (and won) the Super Bowl in 2023 and 2024 while Joe Biden was in the White House. What role did Trump play in those victories? None! And his pathetic attempt to try and make Sunday’s game about him drew plenty of comments online.
