Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) seemed to suggest Sunday that Democrats in Congress had better be on their best behavior when Liar-in-Chief Donald Trump appears before a joint session to deliver his State of the Union Address Tuesday evening.
Johnson was interviewed by Fox host Maria Bartiromo, who asked, “Are you expecting the Democrats to put on some kind of a resistance show on Tuesday night?”
“Boy, I hope not,” the speaker replied. “I hope they respect the decorum of the institution. It’s really important.”
“Everybody remembers when Nancy Pelosi ripped up his State of the Union speech right behind him. It was just disgusting,” Johnson added. “We should respect the president. Everyone should stand and give him an ovation for what he’s been able to accomplish in the first few weeks.”
“It’s incredible, incredible what the new Trump administration is doing. And it’s good for all Americans, and everyone will see that very soon.”
What’s so incredible about what Trump has done since taking office? Prices are higher than ever thanks to tariffs imposed by the administration, the FAA is in shambles, and most Americans are afraid to fly.
Oh, and there’s also the small matter of foreign policy, which was on full display when Trump and his VP lapdog, JD Vance, tried to humiliate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for daring to ask the United States to continue supporting his nation as they try to repel a Russian invasion.
Donald Trump is already a massive failure in his second attempt at being president. The only thing he’s succeeded in doing is weakening the United States and letting our allies know they can’t rely on us because the current resident of the White House is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Respect is earned, and a disgrace like Trump can never hope to earn anything but mockery and derision.
