Evidence Suggests Some Congressional Republicans Could Still Be Charged For Jan. 6

While it’s been clear for some time now that former President Donald Trump was directly involved in fomenting the violence that took place on January 6 at the U.S. Capitol, reporting from The New York Times suggests that some Republicans in Congress also played a role in the efforts to subvert the 2020 election and keep power through a violent uprising.

Specifically, the Times reveals that notes taken by a top deputy to then-Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen point directly to a coordinated effort between Trump and members of Congress. Those notes, which were handwritten by deputy AG Richard Donoghue, report what Trump told Rosen:

“Just say that the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen.”

That, many legal experts said, is a literal smoking gun, and it means that several Republicans in Congress are facing indictment for their role in what transpired on that fateful day.

Philip Bump of The Washington Post focused in on the notation from Donoghue:

“What Donoghue’s notes suggest is that Trump had fully bought into the effort that would eventually become his Alamo: having Republican legislators block the electoral-vote counting due to take place at the Capitol on Jan. 6.”

Failing to certify counting of the electoral votes would have resulted in a Constitutional crisis. The added chaos of a riot at the Capitol would have provided the perfect opportunity for Trump to declare a national emergency and refuse to hand over the reins of power to Joe Biden. It also would have provided an “excuse” for a coup d’etat. And it would have even had the blessing of a faction in Congress.

Once again, quoting Philip Bump:

“Some congressional Republicans clearly did their best to aid Trump’s effort. On the morning of Jan. 6, (Rep Mo) Brooks spoke before Trump at a rally outside the White House. It was time, he said, to ‘start taking down names and kicking ass.’ It’s not clear if any of those in attendance did the former, but some clearly did the latter.”

Brooks, along with Reps. Jim Jordan, Jim Banks, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Kevin McCarthy (and perhaps others) may well find themselves charged with crimes by the Justice Department.

Pete Buttigieg Eviscerates Trump For His Disgusting Remarks About Wounded Veterans

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg destroyed failed former president Donald Trump for comments he reportedly made while still in the White House suggesting he didn’t want wounded American veterans to be seen by the public while he was head of state.

The revelation about Trump’s comments came from a Atlantic profile of Gen. Mark Milley, who is retiring as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. According to Milley, Trump said “no one wants to see” wounded vets, which led the chairman to remark that he believed the ex-president’s attitude of those who served in the military to be “superficial, callous, and, at the deepest human level, repugnant.”

Buttigieg — who served in Afghanistan during his eight years in the Naval Reserve — was asked about the report by CNN host Dana Bash.

“I want to ask you about a new Atlantic profile that says that then President Trump complained to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley after an Army veteran who lost a leg in combat sang at an event at the Pentagon,” Bash told Buttigieg. “Trump reportedly told Milley, ‘Why do you bring people like that here, no one wants to see that, the wounded.'”

“After that article came out, Trump attacked Milley on social media, kind of a rambling post, but suggested that milley deserved the death penalty. You’re a veteran– what’s your response?” she asked

Buttigieg responded:

“It’s just the latest in a pattern of outrageous attacks on the people who keep the country safe.”

The secretary added that veterans who suffer traumatic injuries from warfare should always be honored.

“These are the kind of people that deserve respect and a hell of a lot more than that from every American, and definitely from every American president.”

“And the idea that an American president, the person to whom service members look at as a commander in chief, and the person who sets the tone for this entire country could think that way or act that way or talk that way about anyone in uniform, and certainly about those who put their bodies on the line and sacrificed in ways that most Americans will never understand, and I guess wounded veterans make president Trump feel uncomfortable.”

Trump is a coward and a scumbag. He belongs in prison. He’s certainly not fit to be commander in chief of U.S. forces.

Trump Says Retiring Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley Deserves ‘DEATH!’ For Disagreeing With Him

Proving for the millionth time that he’s completely unfit for office and deserving of a long prison term, failed one-term, twice-impeached, and four-times indicted former president Donald Trump angrily lashed out at Gen. Mark Milley, who is retiring as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff next week.

Clearly triggered by a report from the Atlantic that revealed Milley and other top U.S. military officials had to try and restrain Trump from making monumental mistakes in both domestic and foreign policy, the disgraced ex-president suggested on his Truth Social site that Milley was deserving of death for daring to disagree with him.

“Mark Milley, who led perhaps the most embarrassing moment in American history with his grossly incompetent implementation of the withdrawal from Afghanistan, costing many lives, leaving behind hundreds of American citizens, and handing over BILLIONS of dollars of the finest military equipment ever made, will be leaving the military next week. This will be a time for all citizens of the USA to celebrate!”

He then added:

“This guy turned out to be a Woke train wreck who, if the Fake News reporting is correct, was actually dealing with China to give them a heads up on the thinking of the President of the United States. This is an act so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been DEATH! A war between China and the United States could have been the result of this treasonous act. To be continued!!!”

If Trump happens to win the 2024 election, expect him to turn this country into a police state reminiscent of Nazi Germany. He has no respect for any of the institutions that keep this nation safe, secure, and free.

Donald Trump belongs in prison for the rest of his life. It’s really that simple.

Jake Tapper Asks Mike Pence: Did You Betray Your Faith By Defending Trump’s ‘Ungodly’ Actions?

CNN host Jake Tapper confronted former vice president Mike Pence on Sunday, asking if he thought he betrayed his faith with his willingness to defend and justify the actions of his ex-boss, Donald Trump.

Quoting comments from Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), who told the Atlantic he didn’t understand how Pence could excuse the things Trump did and said, Tapper asked:

“The profile appeared in the Atlantic where Republican Senator Mitt Romney is quoted saying that when it comes to your actions as Donald Trump’s vice president nobody had been quote ‘More willing to smile when he saw absurdities, more willing to ascribe God’s will to things that were ungodly than Mike Pence,’ unquote.”

“What do you say to that, do you think you used your faith to justify ungodly things as vice president, as Mitt Romney believes?”

Clearly perturbed by Romney’s remarks, Pence replied:

“Look, Mitt Romney has no idea what I was doing in the administration,” Pence said. “I haven’t talked to Mitt Romney for years.”

“And I think he can go off into retirement,” he continued. “He’s even critical of his old running mate Paul Ryan in the pages of that book. So I know the stands that we took, I know the stands that we maintained and I’ll always believe that we were called to that fight.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWE2_T2wg_M

What “fight” were Trump and Pence called to? The one that resulted in appointing Supreme Court justices who have decided American women don’t have a right to make their own reproductive choices?

Or was the fight to cut taxes for the richest Americans, who, according to Pence’s Bible, have an almost impossible path to heaven?

Or could the real fight be Trump and Pence’s sick desire for power at any cost, no matter how many have to suffer?

Mike Pence is a fake Christian who deserves to spend eternity in the hell he’s so afraid of.

Donald Trump Ivanka Trump The Trump Adminstration WTF?!

Former Staffer: Donald Trump Often Fantasized About Having Sex With Ivanka

According to a former top administration official who had regular access to failed one-term, twice-impeached ex-president Donald Trump, sexual comments about female staffers and even the ex-president’s daughter, Ivanka, were common in the Trump administration, which led to a hostile work environment that made many inside the White House uncomfortable.

Miles Taylor, who served as chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security, has written a book entitled Blowback: A Warning to Save Democracy from the Next Trump, and in he reveals that the former president was constantly making inappropriate comments, according to Newsweek.

These incidents included, the book says, claims by aides that Trump made lewd comments about his daughter Ivanka’s appearance and talked about “what it might be like to have sex with her.” This prompted a rebuke from his chief of staff, the book says.

“There still are quite a few female leaders from the Trump administration who have held their tongues about the unequal treatment they faced in the administration at best, and the absolute naked sexism they experienced with the hands of Donald Trump at worst,” Taylor explained.

Taylor said he immediately noticed Trump’s disgusting behavior and comments when he was briefing the then-president.

He recalls witnessing such behavior first-hand in meetings with Trump and Kirstjen Nielsen, who was secretary of homeland security from 2017 to 2019.

“When we were with him, Kirstjen did her best to ignore the president’s inappropriate behavior,” Taylor writes in his book. “He called her ‘sweetie’ and ‘honey,’ and critiqued her makeup and outfits.”

After a crass comment from Trump, he recalls Nielsen whispering to him: “Trust me, this is not a healthy workplace for women.” Nielsen has been contacted for comment.

But the worst of Trump’s remarks were about Ivanka, Taylor writes.

“Aides said he talked about Ivanka Trump’s breasts, her backside, and what it might be like to have sex with her, remarks that once led John Kelly to remind the president that Ivanka was his daughter.
“Afterward, Kelly retold that story to me in visible disgust. Trump, he said, was ‘a very, very evil man.'”

The bottom line for voters, Taylor notes, is that they need to know the sort of man they might put in White House a second time, which would be a disaster.

“He’s a pervert, he’s difficult to deal with. This is still the same man and, incredibly, we’re considering electing him to the presidency again.”

Trump has said inappropriate things about Ivanka in the past.

During a joint appearance with her on “The View” in 2006, he commented, “If Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her. Isn’t that terrible? How terrible? Is that terrible?”

And in 2015, Trump told Rolling Stone, “She’s really something, and what a beauty, that one. If I weren’t happily married and, ya know, her father…”

Donald Trump belongs behind prison bars for whatever is left of his life. Not just for the crimes that have led to indictments, but also for being a disgusting sexist and misogynist who thinks it’s cool to lust after his own daughter.
