MT Greene Humiliates Herself With Absurd Rant About Nancy Pelosi’s ‘Gazpacho Police’ Spying On Congress

Based on what she said Wednesday evening during an appearance on One America News (OAN), it’s very clear that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has lost what was left of her already defective mind.

According to Greene, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is using the Capitol police to spy on Republicans in Congress.

Mediaite reports:

Greene said Pelosi is using the Capitol Police to target members of Congress. She cited the allegations made by Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX), who on Tuesday claimed police had “illegally” entered his office in November and took pictures. He also said “intelligence agents” dressed as construction workers returned days later and questioned an aide.

The Capitol Police issued a statement saying, “The weekend before Thanksgiving, one of our vigilant officers spotted the Congressman’s door was wide open. That Monday, USCP personnel personally followed up with the Congressman’s staff and determined no investigation or further action of any kind was needed.”

Yet from that unsubstantiated claim from a fellow nutjob member of the GOP caucus, Greene decided to suggest that she and others are being spied on, remarking:

“So we have the Capitol Police – now, I don’t think it’s the rank and file – I think it is those in charge in the administration. And Nancy Pelosi is using them like political pawns, sending them into our offices.”

As if that wasn’t bizarre enough, Greene then asserted that Capitol police were also investigating visitors who come to meet with members of Congress:

“They’re even checking into people that go to our events outside of outside of Washington. So everything is completely out of control. Not only do we have the D.C. jail, which is the D.C. gulag, but now we have Nancy Pelosi’s gazpacho police spying on members of Congress spying on the legislative work that we do, spying on our staff and spying on American citizens that want to come talk to their representatives.”

Gazpacho, it should be noted, is defined as a “cold soup made of raw, blended vegetables.”

Presumably, Greene was attempting to say “Gestapo,” but her brain was too filled with conspiracy theories and other assorted bullshit to process the word correctly.

Greene went on to add this bit of clear incitement to yet another insurrection:

“This government has turned into something that it was never meant to be and it’s time to make it end.”

Here’s what’s really going on with all of the Republican complaining and wailing: They’re terrified because they know the House Select Committee has evidence that implicates them in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. And now they’re imagining how bad it’s going to be when all the evidence is laid before the American public and the Justice Department beings handing down criminal charges.

Oh well, if she’s lucky, Marjorie can always make her some nice ramen gazpacho in federal prison.

Donald Trump Jr. Attacks Mitch McConnell As The GOP Civil War Reaches A Fever Pitch

Donald Trump Jr. (along with his father) is in full panic mode, terrified of what the House Select Committee on the January 6 Capitol insurrection will uncover next.

Just how fearful is Junior? Enough so that he thought it’d be a good idea to attack Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Twitter just because McConnell dared to say that the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol was indeed a “violent insurrection,” according to The Hill:

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) criticized the Republican National Committee (RNC) for its censure of Reps. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) and Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and broke with their language on the Jan. 6, 2021 riot, calling it a “violent insurrection.”

“It was a violent insurrection with the purpose of trying to prevent a peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election. … That’s what it was,” McConnell said.

McConnell’s pointed remarks came in response to remarks made by RNC chair Ronna McDaniel, who said the Capitol riots were “legitimate political discourse.”

McDaniel later tried to walk back those comments, but the damage had already been done, giving the appearance that the RNC supports the violent rioting which resulted in the deaths of five people.

And now Don Jr. has entered the fray, taking to Twitter to accuse McConnell of being a Democrat:

What Junior neglected to mention is that McConnell still has his job. Donald Trump doesn’t, and is under investigation in multiple states. He’s also likely to be referred to the Justice Department for his role in the Jan. 6 attack.

Don Jr. was in contact with the White House on the day of the Capitol insurrection. But if he has nothing to hide and did nothing wrong, why doesn’t he volunteer to testify in open session before the Jan. 6 committee? Probably because he knows that he’s guilty as hell and so is his old man.

It’s so much fun to watch as Republicans go after each other. If we’re lucky, they’ll rip their party into a million pieces. The country would be a hell of a lot better off if they did.

Trump Facing Disqualification From Running For POTUS For Destroying White House Records

Thanks to some excellent reporting from the Washington Post, we now know that failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump often ripped up official government documents, which is prohibited by law.

According to the Post:

President Donald Trump tore up briefings and schedules, articles and letters, memos both sensitive and mundane.

He ripped paper into quarters with two big, clean strokes — or occasionally more vigorously, into smaller scraps.

He left the detritus on his desk in the Oval Office, in the trash can of his private West Wing study and on the floor aboard Air Force One, among many other places.

And he did it all in violation of the Presidential Records Act, despite being urged by at least two chiefs of staff and the White House counsel to follow the law on preserving documents.

While Trump did indeed violate federal law with his actions, he may also have guaranteed that he can never run for any federal office again, according to presidential historian Michael Beschloss, who cited the law on Twitter:

Here’s what the law says:

“Subsection (b) of 18 U.S.C. § 2071 contains a similar prohibition specifically directed at custodians of public records. Any custodian of a public record who ‘willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys (any record) shall be fined not more than $2,000 or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States.’ While the range of acts proscribed by this subsection is somewhat narrower than subsection (a), it does provide the additional penalty of forfeiture of position with the United States.”

So could Trump be prosecuted and banned from ever holding office? Hayes Brown of MSNBC doesn’t think so, explaining in an op-ed:

“If federal prosecutors were to go after him for this specifically, they’d be challenged to prove that this isn’t targeting him with a charge they wouldn’t bring against anyone else. Given the number of people who purposefully or accidentally walk off or mishandle federal records, and the lack of prosecutions over it, that feels unlikely.”

Fair enough, but it’s worth bookmarking the law in question and keeping in mind we may well need a way to prevent Trump from running again in 2024. Considering that he’s facing indictment in New York, Georgia, and as a result of a possible criminal referral from the House Select Committee on January 6, there are plenty of reasons to believe Trump has no intent of running. But if we happen to need a stopgap measure, this might be it.

Twitter Erupts With Laughter And Disgust After Matt Gaetz Says Sexual Predators Must Be Punished

Like so many Republicans in the Age of Trump, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has absolutely no shame, no remorse, and no discernable intellect.

If you doubt that, consider that Gaetz stood on the floor of the House of Representatives Monday and demanded that those who sexually harass others be held accountable for their actions.

HuffPost reports:

Gaetz’s comments were made on the floor of the House in support of a bill that would end mandatory arbitration for workplace sexual harassment claims.

Here’s what Gaetz had the gall to say despite the fact that he’s currently under federal investigation for allegedly engaging in the sexual trafficking of an underage girl:

“Here is the question presented: Should sexual harassers who work for big businesses get to pick their juries in advance? I believe that the populist, nationalist right approach is to believe that the Article 3 courts, that we have set up for any and all, function as the proper venue. But for tens of millions of American workers, that courthouse door is locked!”

Keep in mind this is the same Matt Gaetz who was the only member of Congress to vote against an anti-human trafficking bill in 2017, Politifact has confirmed:

Gaetz really was the only vote against an anti-human trafficking bill that Trump signed into law. The reason he offered at the time was not on the bill’s substance, but in favor of limiting government.

The Combating Human Trafficking in Commercial Vehicles Act passed the Senate by unanimous consent in September 2017. When the House passed the bill in December 2017, Gaetz was the only no vote. President Donald Trump signed the bill into law in January 2018.

The Florida Republican was so pleased with his speech on Monday that he posted a video of it on his Twitter account:

That was all it took for social media to punch back at Gaetz.

Lauren Boebert Says Her Personality Is Similar To Jesus Christ’s

What comes to mind when you hear the name of Lauren Boebert, the Republican congresswoman from the state of Colorado? Bigoted? Narrow-minded? Angry? Obtuse? Probably those and many others, none of them positive.

But according to Bobert herself, the first thing that should pop into your head is an image of Jesus.

Yes, she actually said that.

Speaking with Mike Huckabee on Newsmax, Boebert began by explaining why she ran for Congress in the first place:

“I believe as a Christian, that frustration we feel on the inside of us sometimes is really just God’s motivation to send us to where we need to be part of the solution.”

That led Huckabee to note that Boebert isn’t “afraid to speak openly about your faith and how it defines you.” He then added:

“You’re not timid and you’re not afraid to let people know that you are a Christian believer and that that’s what gives you your core values. Do you find that people sometimes are wanting you to say just tone it down a little bit, Congresswoman? Just tone it down. Do you hear that?”

The congresswoman responded:

“You know, I think people would love if I would tone it down. But, you know, we had our Lord Jesus certainly didn’t tone it down for anyone. We had the Apostles who carried this message of the Gospel and even the leaders in their days, they said, you know, it’s fine, you can pray but just don’t do it in the name of Jesus.”

Not content with having compared herself to Jesus, Boebert continued:

“And now here we are in another cycle of cancel culture but this is nothing new. Cancel culture has been around since the beginning of time. Cain canceled Abel. We had Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that were thrown into the fiery furnace. King Nebuchadnezzar wanted to cancel them but there stood another in the midst of them and He was the son of God.

“And then they tried to cancel Jesus but you can’t cancel God!”

Holy shit! Is this woman serious?! If so, it’s quite clear she hasn’t actually read the New Testament or she would have immediately noted that Jesus preached one thing above all others. It’s known as the Golden Rule:

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 7:12)

Do unto others as you would have done unto you. That’s the most fundamental teaching of Jesus and is supposed to be a major tenet for all Christians.

And yet, Boebert constantly attacks others, belittles those she disagrees with, and makes herself the center of attention. None of those are what Jesus urged his followers to do.

Lauren Bobert is a hypocrite. And here’s what Jesus said about hypocrites:

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.” (Matthew 23:27-28)

Sounds just like a certain member of Congress from Colorado, doesn’t it?
