MSNBC Panel Mocks Trump’s Attorney For Referring To Him As A ‘Family Man’

Attorneys for disgraced former president Donald Trump are already attempting to portray their client as something he isn’t and never will be: A kind, decent man who loves his family and would never do anything to hurt them.

Such a characterization of the ex-president elicited laughter and mockery during a panel discussion on MSNBC earlier this morning.

Former Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill couldn’t help but laugh at such a portrait of Trump.

“The prosecutors did an opening that was a very strong narrative, a timeline, promising hard evidence, corroboration, phone records, documents, in addition to witnesses,” McCaskill said. “The defense, what did they do? They said Donald Trump is a family man.”

“Seriously?” she added. “I mean, you know, the jury is going, wait a minute, I think he traded out lies like he changed his shirts, he committed adultery all through his life. These are New York juries, they’ve seen the press for decades about the fact that he’s not a family man. Where was Melania? How do you have a criminal trial with sexual conduct as the essence of the case in so many ways and not have your wife there, then stand up and say you’re a family man?”

The defense’s opening statement, McCaskill warned, will come back to haunt Trump and his lawyers, if only because it sounds like it was penned by Donald himself.

“They went on to say that he did nothing wrong, he did nothing wrong — his business was perfect,” she said. “He was a great businessman, he did nothing wrong. A smart defense attorney, you have a normal client, would have stood up and said, ‘Hey, you know, he’s made some mistakes, but this is not a felony.’ That’s what a smart defense attorney would have done if he had a client that would let him do that. Unfortunately, these defense attorneys can’t do that because Trump won’t let them. They have got to say he’s perfect. They’ve got to lie just like Michael Cohen did for him.”

Donald Trump is such a wonderful “family man” that he’s been married three times and cheated on every one of his wives. It has also been reported that he may have one or more illegitimate children from his sexual dalliances over the years.

The very last thing Donald Trump will ever be is a family man. He’s a serial adulterer who only cares about his own satisfaction.

WATCH An MSNBC Host SHRED A GOP Congressman For Calling Her A ‘Democrat Operative’

Earlier this week, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) voted to open an impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden, but when MSNBC host Symone Sanders tried to ask why he had done so, he got defensive and suggested she was a “Democrat operative.”

That was an enormous mistake on Burchett’s part.

Sanders asked the congressman what evidence he had that would prove the president committed high crimes or misdemeanors. Rather than answer, Burchett recited a hackneyed talking point about the president taking repayments for a truck loan from his son, Hunter.

“I haven’t heard a high crime or misdemeanor yet,” Sanders told Burchett.

“Are you gonna let me answer the question, ma’am? I know you’re a Democrat operative and work for a Democrat consulting firm, but —“

Sanders: “Alright, congressman, let’s do it then.”

“I did use to advise a number of individuals, I’ve also advised some corporations and companies, but here I’m just here to be an advocate for the viewer,” she said. “And I will ask you one last time. What is the evidence that the committee has that Joe Biden, while he was president, committed a high crime, misdemeanor, or treason. Because that is the bar for an impeachment inquiry.”

Burchett responded, “You have to ask yourself, ma’am, why a vice president or a president would get $40,000 through a Chinese communist corporation…”

Once again, Sanders put Burchett in his place.

“With that thank you very much, congressman it’s always a pleasure, you just can’t come on here and lie.”

Republicans don’t have diddly squat when it comes to proving their harebrained conspiracy theories about President Biden. But that won’t keep them from marching in lockstep like good cult members to please their lord and savior, Donald Trump.

Jen Psaki Has The Perfect Clapback After Trump Threatens MSNBC

MSNBC host Jen Psaki had a message for failed former president Donald Trump after he threatened the network, and she let fly with an epic clapback Sunday.

A couple of days ago, Trump posted this on his failing Truth Social site:

“MSNBC (MSDNC) uses FREE government approved airwaves, and yet it is nothing but a 24 hour hit job on Donald J. Trump and the Republican Party for purposes of ELECTION INTERFERENCE. Brian Roberts, its Chairman and CEO, is a slimeball who has been able to get away with these constant attacks for years. It is the world’s biggest political contribution to the Radical Left Democrats who, by the way, are destroying our Country. Our so-called ‘government’ should come down hard on them and make them pay for their illegal political activity. Much more to come, watch!”

That, Psaki explained, “sounded just like another one of those crazy, unhinged rants” Donald is famous for, but “he also talked about himself in the third person — always a red flag in my book, and he included his middle initial in that too.”

Psaki then gave the disgraced ex-president a lesson in the First Amendment and media in the United States:

“Trump is promising to resort to an authoritarian tactic should he become president again. Does the federal government have any role in the oversight of a cable news network? No they actually don’t. But that’s not the point here. What’s important is that he’s threatening to use the power of the government against media he believes is being critical of him.”

She added:

“Believe me, I know from experience from many days and hours at the briefing room, that the relationship between the U.S. government and the free press can be tense at times. And even both of the presidents I worked for, they had their own moments of unleashing their media critiques when they didn’t like a story. and when I think about the role of the free press and how essential it is for our democracy. I also think about my time as a spokesperson for the State Department.”

The larger issue, Psaki noted, is freedom of the press, which Trump is clearly opposed to, despite what the U.S. Constitution (and numerous Supreme Court decisions) have to say on the matter.

“It’s actually a threat to the free press. A threat to democracy. And that threat comes at a time when a record total of 533 journalists are currently detained worldwide. That’s according to Reporters Without Borders. A large number of them are being held by the sorts of authoritarian regimes that Trump envisions creating here at home.”

It’s not an overstatement to say that if Donald Trump wins in 2024, this country will become an authoritarian nightmare reminiscent of other totalitarian regimes (i.e. China and Russia) that censor almost everything their citizens read or see on a television broadcast. We cannot let that happen.

Revised Projections From Steve Kornacki Show Democrats Could Retain Control Of The House

An already bad midterm election for Republicans could be on the verge of turning disastrous, according to MSNBC elections expert Steve Kornacki, who reported Saturday that some surprises in key House races could result in Democrats retaining control of the House of Representatives.

Mediaite reports that Kornacki revealed his new projections with host Ali Velshi as new updates were being released out of Maricopa County in Arizona.

“The decision desk has just revised its estimate for where the House will land, and look at this,” he said as the graphics updated. “218 seats needed for a majority in the House, and we are now estimating that Republicans will finish with 219.”

Velshi whistled at the shift in numbers as Kornacki continued.

“And I would stress the margin for error here is plus or minus four seats,” said Kornacki. “So the Republican range could still extend into the low 220s, but it could also fall under 218. Meaning that Democrats still very much have a possibility of retaining control of the House.”

“So the House very much in play according to our model.”

21 House districts remain uncalled, and Democrats only need 15 to keep control. Republicans need victory in 7 districts to take over leadership of the House.

Buckle up. The 2022 election isn’t over with just yet.

MSNBC Guest Mocks Lindsey Graham For His Abortion Ban: ‘He’s Never Seen A Naked Woman!’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has been heavily criticized for suggesting a federal ban on abortion after 15 weeks, and his proposal could wind up costing Republicans a chance at retaking control of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections.

Just this week, President Joe Biden weighed in on Graham’s legislation, telling attendees to a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in New York:

“Think about what these guys are talking about. No exceptions — rape, incest — no exceptions, regardless of age. I happen to be a practicing Roman Catholic. My church doesn’t even make that argument now.”

Graham’s abortion ban was also the topic of discussion on MSNBC, Mediaite reports, with host Stephanie Ruhle leading a discussion of the topic:

Ruhle said Graham is “more than doubling down” with the legislation, and said to the panel “I want you to first help me understand, why would he even be doing this?”

“Why do this? Republicans don’t even support it across the board. He’s dividing Republicans. It’s not like you can get white evangelical voters to vote for you twice,” said Ruhle. “And now they’re knocking out a ton of other potential new voters.”

Comedian and podcaster Judy Gold then joined the debate, noting:

“And, the fact that he is telling women what to do with their bodies. Go for it.

“He’s never seen a vagina! He’s never seen a naked woman! And he is telling me?”

Clearly, Gold was insinuating that Graham is gay, which has long been suspected about the South Carolina senator, who is 67 and has never been married.

Ron Insana of CNBC agreed with Gold, to an extent:

“If I could flip that, though, as a married man who’s got a wife and two daughters. I don’t want somebody who’s not married, without a family, dictating my family policy.”

Why is it that old white men think they have a right to tell women what they can and can’t do with their bodies? Whether Graham is gay or not is immaterial to the larger issue: How can any man legislate what a women does with her body when there’s isn’t a man on the planet who can identify with what making such a decision involves.

Sen. Graham and the rest of the GOP need to sit down, shut up, and quit trying to rule other people’s lives.
