Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Divorce Proceedings Won’t Be Sealed And That’s A BIG Problem For Her

When he filed for divorce last week, Perry Greene — husband of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) — asked a superior judge to seal the proceedings in the interest of privacy.

Now, however, Perry has changed his mind, according to Charles Bethea of The New Yorker.

Public record could be a very big and embarrassing problem for Ms. Greene in light of the allegations made of her sexual dalliances with several men while she was married, especially since she is fond of painting herself as some sort of warrior for holiness and even claims to be a “strong conservative Christian.”

The Daily Mail first reported on the congresswoman’s alleged extramarital affairs in February of last year:

Controversial conspiracy congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene cheated on her husband with a polyamorous tantric sex guru, DailyMail.com has learned.

Then after ending her affair with him, the mom-of-three moved on to a gym manager behind her husband’s back.

But despite the tawdry flings, Taylor Greene stuck with her husband Perry as she made her unlikely rise that has turned her into the most talked-about Republican in Washington, D.C.

Another problem for Rep. Greene now that the divorce proceedings will be public is the matter of her personal finances, which could provide insight where she gets what money she has. Could some of her finances be provided by shadowy right-wing figures and corporations she’s indebted to which have caused her to vote one way or the other on legislation?

And then there’s the issue of paternity, which could determine who gets custody of the Greene’s three children. Are the children all by Perry Greene, or could some of them have a different father?

It should be more than a little interesting to see what trickles out of the divorce filing in the weeks ahead, especially with the congresswoman having to face voters in the upcoming midterm election.

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Husband Files For Divorce – Says The Marriage Is ‘Irretrievably Broken’

Perry Greene, the husband of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) filed for divorce on Wednesday in Floyd County Superior Court, stating the reason for ending the marriage of 27 years was because it was “irretrievably broken,” according to The Hill.

Interestingly, Perry Greene also requested that the court seal all of the divorce proceedings, “because the parties’ significant privacy interest in sealing the records outweighs the public’s miniscule interest in access to said records.”

Further, the filing also notes “sensitive personal and financial information” will likely be revealed in case, “which would negatively impact the parties’ privacy interests.”

According to Perry Greene, the couple has already separated.

Responding to the dissolution of her marriage, the congresswoman released a statement which reads:

“Marriage is a wonderful thing and I’m a firm believer in it. Our society is formed by a husband and wife creating a family to nurture and protect.

“Together, Perry and I formed our family and raised three great kids. He gave me the best job title you can ever earn: Mom. I’ll always be grateful for how great of a dad he is to our children.”

The main reason for Perry Greene’s divorce filing may have something to do with reports that the congresswoman has allegedly been unfaithful to him on several occasions, as Bess Levin of Vanity Fair reported in 2021.

Marjorie Taylor Greene allegedly (had) a pair of affairs with guys she met at the gym. One of them, according to the tabloid, was Justin Tway, who became the manager of the Alpharetta, Georgia, CrossFit gym where Greene was on staff and worked out. The other was supposedly Craig Ivey, a “polyamorous tantric-sex guru,” according to the Daily Mail, who has posted at least one Facebook photo of himself stark naked in front of waterfall doing yoga.

Twitter had a field day with the divorce filing.

WATCH: Jamie Raskin Burns Republicans Down With Impassioned Speech About Democracy

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) is truly an American treasure and one of the most important Democrats in the country. Why? Because he doesn’t take any bull and isn’t afraid to speak truth to power.

Raskin is especially eloquent when he discusses the perversion of American democracy that the Republican Party in the Age of Trump has engaged in for one purpose: Power.

The Maryland Democrat took to the House floor Wednesday and gave a speech that will go down in history as one of the best ever given by any member of Congress.

The topic of Congressman Raskin’s speech was today’s GOP, whom he excoriated for being anti-democratic, snuggled up with Russian tyrant Vladimir Putin, and enemies of democracy.

“America is a country of individual freedom and the rights of the people to make their own decisions, not having busy body theocrat politicians in state capitols how to make their own decisions about their careers, their lives, their families, and their healthcare, and certainly not allowing Lindsey Graham to tell the women of America what their destiny will be, and they won’t say a word about it.

“They’ll blame Joe Biden for global inflation. They’ll blame Joe Biden for Vladimir Putin’s filthy imperialist invasion of Russia (Ukraine). I hear them denounce Joe Biden.  They won’t denounce Vladimir Putin for one second.”

But it was what Raskin said next that all Americans need to hear before they cast a ballot in the midterm elections:

“We’re on the side of small ‘d’ democrats all over the world against the autocrats like Putin, against the theocrats like the people who would dictate to the women of America their own health decisions. We’re against the tyrants and bullies and the despots. We’re against presidents who get into office and try to dictate the political decision-making of individual members of the workforce and push their ideological program into the government, and we’re for defending whistleblowers. We’re for defending the Census. We’re for defending democratic institutions in America.”

Marjorie Greene Has A Meltdown After Rachel Maddow Exposes The Racist Roots Of ‘Christian Nationalism’

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) absolutely loves saying wild, outrageous, racist, and disgusting things, but she gets livid when anyone dares to point out the wrongness of the things she’s said.

For example, Greene has recently proclaimed that she is a proud “Christian nationalist,” remarking:

“Republicans really need to recognize the people they represent, ok? Their voters, not the lobbyists donors, not the corporate PACs, not those people. That’s not who the Republican Party should represent. We need to be the party of nationalism and I’m a Christian, and, I say it proudly: We should be Christian nationalists.”

That led MSNBC host Rachel Maddow to examine the history of the Christian nationalist movement in the United States, and what she discovered is absolutely terrifying, Mediaite reports:

On Monday night, Maddow dove into the history of the term “Christian nationalist,” bringing the term back to Gerald L.K. Smith, the controversial founder of the Christian Nationalist Crusade. Maddow played audio of Greene’s call for her party to be “Christian nationalists,” and then aired various audio of Smith taking issue with Jewish organizations, mixing races, and more.

Again, this is history. It is documented fact. And yet Greene had a hissy fit/meltdown on Twitter Tuesday, suggesting that Maddow was part of the “Godless lying left” who wants to portray her as a “Nazi.”

Since she’s from the South, I’ll share a Southern expression that Marjorie Insurrectionist Greene will be familiar with: A hit dog always hollers.

Capitol Insurrection Congress Donald Trump January 6

Partial Focus Of Tuesday’s J6 Hearing: Members Of Congress Who Conspired With Trump – Report

When the House Select Committee investigating the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the Capitol convenes again tomorrow at 1 p.m. for a public hearing, part of their focus will be to identify the Republican members of Congress who conspired with former president Donald Trump to try and overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Aides to the Jan. 6 committee told reporters during a phone call Monday afternoon that of specific interest to the committee is to lay out how some in the GOP actively assisted Trump in his harebrained scheme to subvert the will of the voters by pressuring then-vice president Mike Pence to refuse certification of the Electoral College votes.

Hugo Lowell of The Guardian notes that there will also be extensive testimony on the nexus between Trump and domestic terrorist groups such as the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers:

The House January 6 select committee is expected to make the case at its seventh hearing Tuesday that Donald Trump gave the signal to the extremist groups that stormed the Capitol to target and obstruct the congressional certification of Joe Biden’s electoral college win.

The panel will zero in on a pivotal tweet sent by the former president in the early hours of the morning on 19 December 2020, according to sources close to the inquiry who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the forthcoming hearing.

“Big protest in D.C. on January 6th,” Trump said in the tweet. “Be there, will be wild!”

That tweet, the committee contends, led domestic terror groups to begin actively planning for Jan. 6. The panel plans to show a detailed chronology of what happened after Trump’s marching orders had been issued on social media:

On 20 December 2020, prosecutors have said, the former Proud Boys national chairman Enrique Tarrio created an encrypted group chat called “MOSD Leaders Group” – described by Tarrio as a “national rally planning” committee that included his top lieutenants.

Top members of the Oath Keepers militia group led by Stewart Rhodes, who have also been indicted for seditious conspiracy, made similar plans as they prepared to obstruct the congressional certification of Biden’s election win, the panel intends to show.

The select committee will then focus on how the Oath Keepers stockpiled weapons and created an armed quick reaction force ready to deploy to the Capitol, and how the group ended up as the security detail for far-right activist Roger Stone and other Trump allies.

What members of Congress will likely hear their names called by the committee on Tuesday? Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Josh Hawley (R-MO), along with Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Devin Nunes (R-CA), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and Lauren Boebert (R-CO), although others may also be mentioned as co-conspirators who could be facing criminal referral the Justice Department and punishment from the Senate and House Ethics committees.
