WATCH Ron Johnson Get Laughed At By Debate Audience When He Claims ‘The FBI Set Me Up’

Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson was laughed at Thursday evening during a debate with his Democratic opponent, Mandela Barnes, when he suggested that the FBI had set him up in order to humiliate him on the issue of Russia.

Mediaite notes that Barnes and Johnson were asked about the ongoing attack by Russia in Ukraine. Barnes said the United States should continue to support Ukraine and then referenced something Johnson had said.

In April 2021, reports circulated saying the FBI warned Johnson he may be targeted by Russia as part of an influence operation. Johnson conceded last year that the meeting had taken place.

“Regarding reports that I received an FBI briefing warning me that I was a target of Russian disinformation, I can confirm I received such a briefing in August of 2020,” Johnson told the Washington Post.

Barnes noted the briefing during the debate.

Barnes then added:

“There was also an instance where Senator Johnson had to be sat down by the FBI and warned that he may be a Russian asset. We cannot trust Senator Johnson to protect democracy abroad because we can’t even trust Senator Johnson to protest democracy here at home.”

That led Johnson to respond:

“In response to the wild charge of Lieutenant Gov. Barnes, the FBI set me up with a corrupt – with a corrupt – briefing and then leaked that to smear me.”

The led to laughter among the audience, but Johnson only doubled down, suggesting that the FBI was corrupt and he was working to “uncover and expose” that corruption.

Did the FBI “set up” Sen. Johnson when he agreed to travel to Russia on July 4, 2018, as Roll Call reported at the time?

One of the Republican senators back from a trip to Moscow is suggesting that Congress went too far in punishing Russia for meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

“I’ve been pretty upfront that the election interference — as serious as that was, and unacceptable — is not the greatest threat to our democracy,” Sen. Ron Johnson said in an interview with the Washington Examiner published over the weekend. “We’ve blown it way out of proportion.”

“We need to really honestly assess what actually happened, what effect did it have, and what effect are our sanctions actually having, positively and negatively,” the Republican from Wisconsin said.

And yet Johnson wonders why anyone would dare call him a Russian asset.

Former FBI Official Believes He Has Proof Trump Moved Classified Documents To Another Location

A former top official with the FBI said Saturday that new photographic evidence seems to suggest disgraced former one-term president Donald Trump deliberately moved classified documents from his Mar-a-Lago resort to his Bedminster golf club just three days after the federal government contacted him about failing to return requested materials.

According to Mediaite:

On Saturday morning, Meidas Touch posted an intriguing video from last year, writing “Video from May 8, 2021 shows Trump boarding a jet from Florida to Bedminster with multiple boxes bearing a strong resemblance to boxes of top secret materials found at Mar-a-Lago. On May 6, NARA had contacted Trump’s team saying documents were missing and may be at Mar-a-Lago.”

That video was taken exactly three days after Trump had been notified he needed to return the documents he had in his possession:

May 6: National Archives and Records Administration contacts Trump’s team to say some high-profile presidential documents appear to be missing. “We know things are very chaotic, as they always are in the course of a one-term transition,” Gary Stern, the agency’s chief counsel writes to Trump lawyers. “But it is absolutely necessary that we obtain and account for all presidential records.”

The resurfaced video led Peter Strzok, a former FBI agent and official, to weigh in on Twitter.

Then others shared their thoughts on the video and the timing of when those boxes were being moved.

Andrew Weissmann, who served as lead investigator for Special Counsel Robert Mueller during the Russiagate probe, noted:

To paraphrase a line from the classic 1975 film “Jaws,” You’re gonna need a bigger search warrant.

Trump Now Claims The FBI Was Looking For Hillary’s Emails When They Searched Mar-a-Lago

Now that he’s just about exhausted every absurd excuse he can think of for why he had hundreds of classified documents in his office at Mar-a-Lago, disgraced, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump has decided to blame his 2016 Democratic presidential opponent, Hillary Clinton.

Yes, once again he’s trying to blame Hillary.

During a radio interview on Thursday, the one-term ex-president said:

“I think they were looking for Hillary Clinton’s emails. I think they thought, and who knows, boxes and boxes full of stuff. I think they thought…”

The host interjected:

“That you’ve got the goods.”

Trump continued:

“They were afraid that things were in there, part of their scam material because that’s what they are, they’re scammers.”

Yeah, Trump has Hillary’s emails, but he was sitting on them. He wasn’t going to release them, but the FBI came and got them. That’s so logical, huh?

What’s next? Will Donald try to lay the blame on the Great Pumpkin? The Grinch? The Easter Bunny?

Trump is scared. He’s terrified. And now he wants to blame Hillary…AGAIN!

Trump Urges FBI Agents To Revolt Because What Hillary Did Was Much Worse Than Him

Donald Trump is terrified. It’s quite obvious by the crap he’s been posting on his failing Twitter imitation, Truth Social.

The disgraced ex-president is now suggesting that FBI agents need to stage a revolt and overthrow the leadership of the agency because what Hillary Clinton did in regard to classified information was much worse than the crimes he’s suspected of having committed.

When are the great Agents, and others, in the FBI going to say “we aren’t going to take it anymore,” much as they did when James Comey read off a list of all of Crooked Hillary Clinton’s crimes, only to say that no reasonable prosecutor would prosecute. The wonderful people of the FBI went absolutely “nuts,” so Comey had to backtrack and do a FAKE INVESTIGATION in order to keep them at bay. The end result, we won in 2016 (and did MUCH better in 2020!). But now the “Left” has lost their minds!!!

Who has lost their mind? Is it the left, or is it the deranged senior citizen yelling into the internet ether as if doing so will somehow save his ass now that his crimes have risen to the level of espionage and treason?

Also, that call for revolt by FBI agents is likely yet another crime that can be added to the growing list of offenses the Justice Department can seek an indictment for.

After Calling FBI Agents ‘Sleazy,’ Trump Now Claims He Always ‘Had Their Backs’

When FBI agents served a search warrant at his Mar-a-Lago golf resort on Aug. 8, disgraced, one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump said some incredibly nasty things about the agency and agents who had participated in the search.

Specifically, HuffPost notes, Trump used just about every pejorative imaginable to attack FBI:

Trump attacked the FBI as seditious, abusive, criminal and “sleazy” after agents hauled out about 20 boxes of White House material from his Florida home, including 11 sets of classified information. Those records should have been turned over to the National Archives when Trump’s term ended, according to the Presidential Records Act.

In days that followed the search, Trump baselessly called it a “sneak attack” and a “raid,” a “siege,” and “corrupt.” He also claimed FBI agents “planted” evidence in his home.

Now, however, as the possibility of being charged with violating the Espionage Act becomes more of a reality, Trump has changed his tune and is praising the FBI:

Now, Trump claims agents are “furious at FBI leadership” for the “political weaponization against a president (me).”

They “don’t like being ’used’ by people they do not agree with, or respect,” he wrote in the post. He went on to add that agents are not “thrilled with the leadership” of the Department of Justice.

Why did Trump make such a dramatic shift? That’s unclear, but it may have something to do with him wanting to appear as supportive of law enforcement even though he clearly thinks he’s above the law and shouldn’t be subjected to a search, even if he has allegedly committed some of the most serious crimes that any president can be suspected of.

Some have suggested that Trump’s verbal attacks on federal agents have led to an uptick in threats against them, and the FBI Agents Association issued a statement which reads:

“FBI Special Agents are dedicated members of the law enforcement community who put their lives on the line every day to protect the public from criminals and terrorists. Special Agents and their families should never be threatened with violence, including for doing their jobs. The threats made recently contribute to an atmosphere where some have, or will, accept violence against law enforcement as appropriate. It is not. This is not a partisan or political issue. It is a matter of public safety and basic decency. Calls for violence against law enforcement are unacceptable, and should be condemned by all leaders.”

It remains to be seen if Trump will still be behind the FBI if and when they show up to arrest him.
