Now that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s favorite American puppet, Donald Trump, is once again about to occupy the Oval Office and control U.S. foreign policy, it appears that the nation of Ukraine will soon be sacrificed to the Russians and forced to sign a peace agreement that will allow Putin to keep major portions of another sovereign country, which is in direct violation of numerous international agreements.
Will Donald Trump sell out our Ukrainian allies and allow Putin to keep his ill-gotten gains? Based on a social media posting from the president-elect’s son, Donald Trump Jr., it certainly seems so.
Don Jr. shared a video on Instagram of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy next to the disgraced president-elect along with a message:
Even though he donated untold millions of dollars to get Donald Trump elected for the second time, Twitter CEO Elon Musk is about to be unceremoniously thrown overboard by the incoming president, according to a historian, because Trump is not about to share the spotlight with anyone. His massive ego won’t him.
In an article published by the New York Times, David Nasaw predicts Musk’s shelflife as an influencer to the Trump administration will be brief.
Another reason for Musk’s fading influence is that his promise of cutting trillions from the federal budget would cause an economic meltdown and likely throw the United States into a second Great Depression. That would be political suicide for Trump and the GOP.
“I’m not sure what you were thinking — or if you were thinking — when you clambered on that Madison Square Garden stage and claimed that as chief of the Department of Government Efficiency… you would cut at least $2 trillion of government spending,” Nasaw writes. “The results of such a gutting would, even conservative think-tank analysts predicted, be catastrophic. It is nearly impossible to imagine a majority of Republican lawmakers endorsing your plans to slash a third of all federal spending. To do so would be political suicide.”
So what exactly does Musk get out of his alliance with Trump? More money, of course, as Nasaw predicts his investments — especially Twitter/X — will increase in value, adding to his already massive fortune.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) failed to explain why he thought the 2020 election had been “rigged” but 2024 was free of any interference when asked about it on CNN this morning, instead whining and trying to downplay all of Donald Trump’s discredited conspiracy theories of why he lost to President Joe Biden four years ago.
CNN host Dana Bash began by telling Jordan, “In the run-up to the election, even on election night itself, Donald Trump baselessly accused Democrats of cheating. As soon as the results started to come in and show it going his way he stopped – nothing about that. I haven’t seen you or your colleagues claiming any election irregularities , no rampant voting brought this time. It seems to me that Republicans claim voting fraud and election integrity when you lose and not when you win.”
“No, I mean, again, as I said before, this election I think was the greatest political comeback we’ve ever seen,” Jordan replied with a shit-eating grin on his face. “He [Trump] did something that even Teddy Roosevelt could not do for goodness sake and the country–“
“But you think it was a free and fair election?” Bash asked.
Rather than respond, Jordan said he had seen an interview with a Latino voter who said he had cast his ballot for Trump because he didn’t think Democrats cared about people like him.
“But last time around he claimed –– your leader claimed that there were problems with fraud.”
When Jordan attempted to talk over the host, she continued to press.
“But last time around it wasn’t so much about the policy differences or the personality differences, there were false claims about election fraud when Donald Trump lost. This time Donald Trump won and you think the election was free and fair. You see there is a little bit –“
Jordan: “I think the Democrats have to ask why we go from getting anyone 81 million to 71 million. What happened to those 10 million people? Maybe it’s not smart to run an election where you have no policies.”
“Why was it different from 2020 when he lost? Is that the only difference?” Bash asked for a third time.
“There were concerns about 2020 with all the mail-in voting that happened in Pennsylvania, they came in without any signature verification which is required,” Jordan claimed. “There were all kinds of concerns with how the 2020 election was run but—”
“There was no widespread fraud,” Bash reminded the congressman, who could only smile like a demented fool.
So 2020 was a fraudulent election, but 2024 is perfect? What a crock of shit!
The United States Secret Service was flagged after retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn posted on Twitter that former President Barack Obama “must be held accountable.”
Flynn was responding to another Twitter user’s message: “Never Forget who these people are and what they did!”
That led Flynn to reply, “I’m like an elephant, except I’m an Irish elephant. Not only will I never forget, I will never forgive. People must be held accountable.”
“And you all know precisely who you are. [Obama] yup, starts with you,” Flynn said. “You tried to destroy my family as well as [Trump] and his family along with our country…unforgivable,” Flynn added.
Investigative reporter Dave Troy flagged Flynn’s posting with a note calling for the Secret Service to get involved.
“No big deal. Just a Putin-aligned retired general threatening a former president. What do you say@SecretService, does he get a doorknock, or are we no longer in that business? The public wants to know.@POTUS@NatSecCNN“
Flynn has hated Obama ever since the former president warned Donald Trump not to hire the ex-general for a position in his first administration.
“Former President Obama warned President Donald Trump against hiring Mike Flynn as his national security adviser, three former Obama administration officials tell NBC News.”
“The warning, which has not been previously reported, came less than 48 hours after the November election when the two sat down for a 90-minute conversation in the Oval Office.”
Despite that warning, Trump hired Flynn as his national security adviser, only to sack him three weeks later for lying to then-Vice President Mike Pence when asked about conversations he’d had with the Russian ambassador to the U.S. regarding the easing of sanctions on Russia.
It remains unclear if Trump will bring Flynn back once he takes office again in January. Could Flynn even pass a security check or be trusted with classified information?
Of course, considering that Trump himself stored classified documents in unsecured locations at his Mar-a-Lago resort, national security doesn’t exactly seem to be a high priority for Donald or those around him.
CNN commentator Ana Navarro says Twitter CEO Elon Musk needs a new title after appearing in a family photo with Donald Trump and his family at Mar-a-Lago.
Navarro’s remarks came after host Anderson Cooper reported that Musk was on a phone call Trump made to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky this week, according to Mediaite.
“What do you make of him joining this call?” Anderson Cooper asked.
GOP strategist Scott Jennings replied, “That doesn’t surprise me at all. Of course, Donald Trump can put anyone on the phone that he wants. I mean, I assume a lot of these calls are congratulatory in nature. So, as further, more policy-driven calls take place, I would expect there to be other policy and administration officials or designated officials on the calls. But at some juncture, Trump won, and he’s got a cadre of advisers that’s obviously gonna include Elon Musk. And so, I don’t think anybody should be surprised by this or alarmed by it either way.”
Navarro agreed that the call was nothing odd but then referenced the photo that didn’t contain Melania Trump but did feature Musk.
“I think it’s a little weird, right? I mean, Elon Musk seems to be everywhere at all times. He’s like, secretary of everything, and at the same time, he’s like First Lady. The other day I saw this picture of him. It was a picture of Trump with his entire family except Melania, but Elon Musk was there. And now you hear about this. There’s obviously also conflicts of interest. This is somebody who has contracts with the Department of Defense. This is somebody who has Starlink that’s a big part of what’s going on in Ukraine.”
“I find it a little weird. But as Scott said, they won. He gets to do whatever he wants, and if he wants Elon everywhere, all the time, that’s what’s going to happen.”
Navarro’s comments set off a wave of laughter and mockery on Musk’s social media site, which continues to lose millions of dollars.
