Hakeem Jeffries Just Put Kevin McCarthy On Notice

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) has just put Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on notice regarding committee assignments, and if McCarthy ignores the warning it could well make his tenure as Speaker shorter than he ever imagined.

The Washington Post reports that Jeffries wrote McCarthy to let him know he was recommending Reps. Adam B. Schiff and Eric Swalwell be reappointed to the House Intelligence Committee, which Schiff once chaired.

In a letter dated Saturday, Jeffries argued that McCarthy has no justifiable reason not to accept his appointments of Schiff, who served as chairman of the Intelligence panel until Republicans took control of the chamber, and Swalwell.

In his letter, Jeffries writes:

“It is my understanding that you intend to break with the longstanding House tradition of deference to the minority party Intelligence Committee recommendations and deny seats to Ranking Member Schiff and Representative Swalwell. The denial of seats to duly elected Members of the House Democratic Caucus runs counter to the serious and sober mission of the Intelligence Committee.”

McCarthy has said he will not place Schiff and Swalwell on the Intelligence Committee, seeking to exact revenge on Democrats for removing Reps. Paul Gosar (AZ) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) from committee assignments. But as Jeffries notes in his letter, both Gosar and Greene were removed by a vote of the full House.

Greene and Gosar were removed “after a bipartisan vote of the House found them unfit to serve on standing committees for directly inciting violence against their colleagues. It does not serve as precedent or justification for the removal of Representatives Schiff and Swalwell, given that they have never exhibited violent thoughts or behavior.”

Jeffries also pointed out that McCarthy had no problem appointing “serial fraudster” George Santos (R-NY) to committees despite the fact that he is facing multiple investigations, including from the House Ethics Committee and may also be subjected to criminal prosecution for lying in order to win his congressional seat.

If McCarthy insists on refusing to seat Schiff and Swalwell, Democrats could call for a motion to vacate, a procedure which would result in a formal vote to remove McCarthy from the Speaker’s chair. Considering that McCarthy only holds a slim majority in the House, such a move could further weaken him.

Ted Cruz Thumps His Bible At Stephen King And Promptly Gets His A*s Handed To Him

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz really needs to take an extended absence from social media. Why? Because he keeps trying to troll others and always winds up humiliating himself because he clearly has no discernable sense of humor.

Consider just a couple of spectacular Twitter fails for Cruz that left him with internet egg on his face:

In October, Cruz was forced to delete a tweet he posted about Muslim white supremacists: “Cruz tweeted out a screenshot of what he claimed was an article from the Atlantic which was titled “The Evolution of White Supremacy” and included a subtitle which read: ‘In Dearborn Michigan, Muslim parents who oppose teaching pornography to children become the new face of the far right.”

Turns out the story was fake and Cruz fell for the lie.

Cruz also attempted to troll White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on the subject of student loan debt relief, posting a tweet that read “We believe in Santa Clause. And unicorns. And pixie dust!”

The guy graduated from Princeton and Harvard Law, but he can’t even manage to spell a name that most five-year-old kids have mastered.

And now Teddy Boy has responded to a tweet from novelist Stephen King in which the bestselling author encouraged kids to read as much as possible, even books that may be banned at their school (especially if they live in a deep red state like Texas), writing:

“Hey, kids! It’s your old buddy Steve King telling you that if they ban a book in your school, haul your ass to the nearest bookstore or library ASAP and find out what they don’t want you to read.”

Exactly. If they’re going to keep books away from kids in school libraries and classrooms, there’s always the bookstore and public library. Many curious young bookworms (including me) have done exactly that when anyone dared to try and keep information from us.

Cruz, however, couldn’t resist responding:

“And just like that, millions of kids began reading the Bible….”

Very few (if any) school districts in the United States have banned the Bible, so that’s a false equivalency. And here’s betting Teddy would pitch a hissy fit if the Koran was also allowed in Texas schools.

Though King hasn’t yet responded to Cruz, others did, and they let the senator have it.

Free advice, Ted: Delete your Twitter account and become a monk. That way you can read the Bible all day and night without interruption except for when you need to rub one out.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Confronts Lauren Boebert In House Restroom: ‘Don’t Be Ugly!’

The growing divide between Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) began on January 3, 2023, the first day of the new Congress.

Greene had already aligned herself with then-House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), making it clear she planned to support him in his bid to be the next Speaker of the House.

Boebert, on the other hand, was in the Anyone But McCarthy camp, and a confrontation between her and Greene seemed inevitable.

As debate began on who would be Speaker, Boebert and Greene had a nasty tête-à-tête in a House restroom, according to The Daily Beast.

According to multiple sources, the two women were nearly in a screaming match in the Speaker’s lobby ladies room just off the House floor.

“Greene questioned Boebert’s loyalty to McCarthy, and after a few words were exchanged, Boebert stormed out,” a source familiar with the fight told The Daily Beast.

According to another source familiar, while in the bathroom, Greene asked Boebert, “You were OK taking millions of dollars from McCarthy but you refuse to vote for him for Speaker, Lauren?”

That wasn’t all that took place, the source noted. As Greene continued to press Boebert, the Colorado congresswoman ran away like a child.

The first source said Greene was in a stall and, upon coming out, confronted Boebert about taking money from McCarthy for her re-election and then turning against McCarthy when it came time to vote. The Colorado Republican was allegedly unaware that Greene was also in the bathroom at the time.

“That’s when Lauren said, ‘Don’t be ugly,’” the first source said, before she—in the words of this source—“ran out like a little schoolgirl.”

When confronted with details of the dustup between the two women, Boebert again ran away, telling a reporter, “See you later. Bye.”

The two women are also going in opposite directions when it comes to supporting Donald Trump in his 2024 bid for the White House.

On one hand, Greene issued an early endorsement of the ex-president. Boebert, on the other hand, has left the door open to backing a Republican 2024 presidential contender that isn’t Trump.

“I certainly would not turn my back on President Trump. I am a huge supporter of his,” Boebert told a local Colorado CBS affiliate back in November, while not pledging her alliance to Trump’s 2024 presidential endeavor. The lawmaker went on to add that she also does “love” Trump foe Ron DeSantis, the Florida governor.

What remains unclear is whether it will be Boebert or Greene who winds up surviving in the new cutthroat world now that Republicans control the House. McCarthy is hanging on as Speaker by the skin of his teeth, and some in the GOP are already hinting they want to see him deposed and replaced by a more right-wing Republican.

Boebert and Greene, meanwhile, may need to try and coordinate their bathroom breaks to avoid future confrontations.

Trump Blames ‘Disloyalty’ Of Evangelicals For The Early Failure Of His 2024 Presidential Campaign

The most immoral man to ever be elected President of the United States has a complaint about the braindead evangelical Christians who eagerly supported him even when he got caught screwing porn stars and paying them off: They’re not being sufficiently loyal to him in his 2024 campaign, and he’s really pissed off about it.

Donald Trump made his complaint during an interview with David Brody of the far-right Real America’s Voice, suggesting that the “disloyalty” of evangelicals was why his latest campaign is struggling so badly.

“That’s a sign of disloyalty. There’s great disloyalty in world of politics and that’s a sign of disloyalty because nobody, as you know… has ever done more for right to life than Donald Trump. Three Supreme Court justices and they all voted [to overturn Roe v. Wade]… they won, they finally won!”

Trump also blamed Christians for the GOP’s failure to win control of both houses of Congress in the 2022 midterm election:

“I was a little disappointed because I thought they could have fought much harder during the ’22 election because they won.”

In recent weeks, Trump has also blamed evangelicals for overplaying the abortion issue by not making sure anti-abortion laws contained exceptions for rape and incest.

Translation: Donald Trump is failing yet again, but it’s not his fault. It’s NEVER EVER his fault. When he goes bankrupt, others are to blame. When he gets caught committing adultery, that’s also the fault of others. And now the 2022 election and upcoming 2024 race can also be blamed on others, because it certainly can’t be Trump’s fault. After all, he’s perfect.

Since Trump is so damn perfect, maybe he needs to start his own religion and make himself the deity. He can be the MAGA god and ask for tithes from his flock. They can easily afford to give him 10% of their net worth, can’t they?

Kneel down and worship, MAGAts! Your tangerine savior demands it.

Report: Jill Biden And Melania Trump Absolutely ‘Despise’ Each Other

While we’ve known for some time now that President Joe Biden and disgraced ex-president Donald Trump don’t care for each other — Biden once said he’d “beat the hell” out of Donald for his crude comments about women — not much has been known about how First Lady Jill Biden and her predecessor, Melania Trump get along with each other.

But a new report from OK! is pulling back the curtain on the two women, and it certainly sounds like they cannot stand each other, either.

“They despise each other and constantly bad-mouth each other among their own social circles,” an insider dished.

The cause of the animosity between the two women is tied to the waning days of the Trump administration and the beginning of Biden’s term in office.

The reason why the two ladies don’t like one another goes back to when Melania, 52, who is married to Donald Trump, 76, didn’t help Jill, 71, get situated into the White House back in 2021.

“Jill was livid and never forgot the slight — especially as she’d been waiting and waiting for the call to come. She pointed to it as another example of Melania’s bad manners,” the insider spilled.

Also, Melania didn’t bother to attend the swearing-in ceremony for Joe Biden, which enraged Mrs. Biden:

“She said it was downright disrespectful of them and violated another long-standing tradition. It was hard not to take the freeze-out personally.”

When the Bidens moved into the White House, a primary focus for the new first lady was to change many of the decorations that had been instituted by Melania.

“Jill hated the changes Melania had made to the second and third floors especially. She thought Melania had awful taste and made the rooms look tacky,” an insider previously shared. “Stripping the rooms of Melania’s choice of drapes and furniture was one of the first things Jill did as first lady. It gave her a lot of pleasure.”

Since leaving the White House in 2021, Melania has made it clear her only focus is to grift as much cash as possible with bullshit projects such as non-fungible token sales and auctioning off articles of clothing she wore while serving as first lady.
