According to Tommy Tuberville, the slow-witted redneck GOP/MAGA senator from the state of Alabama, Donald Trump deserves praise for bringing Christmas “back” to the United States.
Really? Did Christmas cease to exist when Trump left office?
Tuberville posted a fawning message on social media Tuesday evening: “Thanks to President Trump, Christmas is back in America.”
For years, conservatives (led by Fox News and other right-wing “news” networks) have claimed that Democrats and progressives want to eliminate Christmas and celebrate “Happy Holidays” instead, which completely overlooks the fact that many people in the United States don’t celebrate Christmas because they’re Jewish, Muslim, agnostic, or atheist. Saying Happy Holidays doesn’t exclude Christmas or Christians, it merely acknowledges that other holidays are also celebrated at this time of year.
