Eric Swalwell Puts ‘Weasel’ Trump On Notice With A Defiant Warning

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is making it clear that if Donald Trump thinks he can run the country without any pushback from Democrats, he’s sadly mistaken.

Swalwell was a guest on MSNBC Thursday, and he told host Ana Cabrera that Democrats are willing to work with Trump on some of his proposals, but they certainly don’t see him as trustworthy.

Cabrera asked Swalwell, “Did voters hand Trump and the Republican party a sweeping mandate?”

“Well, I respect the will of the people certainly,” the congressman replied. “I’m not going to respect the will of a weasel in Donald Trump; somebody who doesn’t understand these same voters don’t want government-mandated abortions. They don’t want a sweep-up and round-up of anyone who looks like an immigrant in this country. They don’t want us to walk away from our obligation to defend Ukraine.”

“There’s a lot we can work on together on if he wants to be serious, if he wants to have security at the border and address the workforce crisis,” he added. “With immigration, you’ll find more Democrats than not who want to be there with him.”

Swawell then issued a very clear warning to Trump and his GOP allies.

“If he wants to carry out grievances against his political enemies, he’s looking at the tallest fence in the post right now as to the effort that will fence in any of his corruption or political grievance campaigns.”

Congressional Democrats can serve as a serious check on the incoming Trump administration. They have oversight committees that can look into any questionable actions. And they also have access to all sorts of information they can make public if they suspect illegal activity. They are on the front lines of the resistance, and it’s time they do whatever must be done to expose the horrors Trump has planned for this country.

WATCH Eric Swalwell DESTROY Jim Jordan With A Brutal Reference To ‘What Happens In A Locker Room’

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) laid a brutal verbal burn on House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) for suddenly being “interested in what happens in a locker room,” a clear reference to a sex scandal that took place on the Ohio State University men’s wrestling team while Jordan was an assistant coach for the program from 1987 to 1995.

During committee debate on a bill sponsored by House Republicans to address the issue of biological women supposedly being “victimized” by sharing locker rooms with transgender women, Swalwell took aim at Jordan.

“I guess it’s a good thing that some folks on the other side are now interested in what happens in a locker room, and we’re not going to look the other way, okay, I’ll accept that,” Swalwell remarked.

Swalwell added that transgender people victimizing women in locker rooms is not actually a “thing.”

“This is not a thing, and so I just invite my Democratic colleagues who have so passionately spoken on this to continue to passionately speak on this, but to just reject this as a thing.”

Turning to Jordan, Swawell declared, “And thank you for caring about what happens in locker rooms.”

HuffPost notes, “That was a not-so-subtle reminder of a time when Jordan was in a locker room as an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State University, where he was accused of ignoring molestation allegations against the team’s doctor.”

Swalwell’s comments set off a torrent of commentary on social media.

Eric Swalwell Draws A Direct Line Between Jim Jordan’s Sex Scandal And His Actions On Jan. 6

For years, scandal has surrounded Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who has yet to fully explain why when he was an assistant coach on the Ohio State University wrestling team in the mid-1990s he failed to report that sexual abuse of young athletes was being committed by the team doctor, Richard Strauss. Strauss killed himself in 2005 and is believed to have abused at least 177 students from 1979 to 1996.

And now Jordan is at the center of yet another scandal, and this one could well cost him his political career and result in him being charged with crimes against the United States for his role in the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

One of Jordan’s colleagues, Rep. Eric Swalwell, says there’s a connection between the Ohio Republican’s actions at Ohio State and his alleged coordination with members of the Trump administration who attempted to orchestrate a coup on the 6th of January.

During an appearance on MSNBC, Swalwell noted:

“I’m not a Harvard lawyer. But the way that he has talked about his involvement certainly makes him look — the way that he is now moonwalk-ing away from responsibilities as to why — probably makes him complicit. This is an incident of workplace violence. Let us just step back. In any workplace — if this has happened. If you worked with contact with someone who is responsible for the workplace violence. If you did nothing wrong and you had nothing to do with it. You would raise your hand and say, let me help make this safer.”

Swalwell then added that Jordan’s refusal to speak to the House 1/6 Select Committee without being subpoenaed is the same sort of thing he did at Ohio State:

“The fact that he does not want to cooperate, I think, puts him in the category of the people who had some knowledge of what Trump wanted to do. And, by the way, Lawrence, this guy has priors. This is not the first time he has been accused of witnessing a crime and not wanting to report it or help investigators.”

Jim Jordan allegedly enabled the actions of sexual predator even though he could have reported what he knew and protected other students. And now he’s an enabler of a plot to overthrow the elected government of the United States. Both are disgusting and abhorrent, and it’s time that Jordan paid for his refusal to speak when others were in danger.

Eric Swalwell Slams Kevin McCarthy To His Face: ‘You Are A P*ssy’

During the GOP-led censure of Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) in June, his fellow California Democrat Eric Swalwell let Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) know exactly what he thought about him, and it nearly led to blows on the floor of the House of Representatives, according to a report from The Daily Beast.

Matt Fuller notes, “Democrats stood on the House floor and shouted ‘Shame!’ at their GOP colleagues. As the spectacle was taking place, one of the leaders of the demonstration, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), was standing in the well of the House near the speaker’s podium and delivered some harsh words to his fellow Californian. ‘This is pathetic,’ Swalwell allegedly told McCarthy, who was presiding over the House at the time. ‘You’re weak. You’re a weak man.'”

Fast-forward to the next day, and McCarthy decided he was man enough to confront Swalwell.

McCarthy: “If you ever say something like that to me again, I’m gonna kick the sh*t out of you.

Swalwell: “Are we really gonna do this?”

McCarthy: “Call me a p*ssy again, and I’ll kick your ass.”

Swalwell: “You. Are. A. P*ssy.”

The Speaker has a longstanding contentious relationship with Swalwell and even removed him from the House Intelligence Committee after the GOP narrowly won control of the House in the 2022 midterm elections. Many saw the move as payback for Swalwell’s calls for the two impeachments of failed, disgraced former president Donald Trump.

Eric Swalwell Drags Jim Jordan During House Judiciary Hearing And Social Media Is Loving It

The House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was in session today, and testifying before the committee was Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, and while Jordan and others members of the GOP on the committee tried to suggest that the secretary needed to be impeached and replaced, the best lines of the day came from committee member Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and were aimed directly at Jordan.

CNN reports that the hearing was contentious from the get-go.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan lambasted President Joe Biden’s border policies, calling it a “Biden border crisis” and describing them as “open border policies” in his opening remarks Wednesday at a hearing where Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is testifying.

“I know that today Secretary Mayorkas is going to try to paint a rosy picture of this disastrous mismanagement of our border,” Jordan said. “But the numbers don’t lie.”

[…]

Mayorkas is facing House Republicans who have been making the case to potentially impeach him over his handling of the US-Mexico border in a House panel hearing Wednesday. He maintained in his opening remarks that the administration’s approach to the border is “working.”

When Swalwell’s time came to speak, he made it clear that it was more than a tad ironic Jordan is complaining about someone not doing their job and not taking their oath of office seriously because the Ohio Republican resolutely refused to testify before the House Select Committee on January 6.

“Frankly, sir, I think you’re too nice because if I had a chairman who failed to honor his own lawful subpoena about 500 days after it was submitted to him, I would say catch me when you’re serious. Come talk to me when you follow the about whether or not you think I follow the law. But that’s not who you are, you take your job seriously even in front of a lot of unserious people.”

Swalwell then noted that just six days ago Republicans on the committee had invited Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to sit before the panel and spread all sorts of absurd and dangerous conspiracy theories.

“In fact, the chair that you are sitting in, you may not know this, but the last person who sat in that was called by the chairman an anti-vaccine, anti-Semitic witness in RFK Jr., so you have brought immediate credibility to the chair that you are sitting in just by being here. They’re not serious people. They chide people for their pronouns. They obsess and display in the committee and in other committees a private citizen’s non-consensual nude images. We’re not talking about serious people. We’re not talking about people who are on the level.”

That set off a wave of appreciation and applause on social media.
