New Texas Poll Has Some Disturbing News For Ted Cruz’s Campaign

2024 is starting to look like it could well be the end of Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) political career, with a new poll showing him with just a narrow one-point lead over his Democratic opponent, Rep. Colin Allred.

According to Newsweek, the poll comes with just a little over a month until voters go to the polls in the Lone Star State.

A Public Policy Polling/Clean and Prosperous America survey of 759 registered Texas voters showed Cruz is ahead of Allred by 47 percent to 46. In a previous August poll, the incumbent led Allred by 2 points (47 percent to 45). The poll was carried out on September 25-26. The results have a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.

But perhaps most troubling for Cruz is the fact that he’s underwater when it comes to how the voters view him, with a net favorability rating of 41% favorable and 49% unfavorable. A month ago, Cruz had a favorability of 43%, which suggests he could still be in freefall, always bad news for an incumbent.

Allred, on the other hand, has a net favorable rating of 5 points, with 40% of those surveyed giving him a positive rating and 35% saying they view him unfavorably.

All of this has Cruz struggling to find a strategy that could bolster his chances in the closing weeks of the 2024 campaign, Daniella Diaz of Politico notes.

Money is also an issue for Cruz, with Allred awash in cash.

“Allred is swimming in campaign cash, which has put Cruz back on his heels and forced conservative outside groups to engage. So far, Allred has spent $26.2 million on general election TV ads, compared to about $14.3 million for Cruz. So, two pro-Republican outside groups, including the Club for Growth-linked Win It Back PAC, are jumping in.”

Could Cruz become an also-ran? If so, he won’t have anyone to blame, as Allred is making clear by reminding Texas voters of the incumbent’s past bad decisions.

“Whether talking to voters on the campaign trail or in his TV ads, Allred is seeking to remind voters about Cruz’s jaunt to the Mexican beach during a historic freeze in the state that left millions without heat, water and access to food and is directly related to the death of more than 200 Texans. The moment was met with criticism even from his fellow Texas Republicans and considered a PR nightmare.”

How sweet would it be to see both Trump and Cruz go down in flames?

Trump’s Weakness In This All-Important Red State May Cost Him The 2024 Election

Think back for a moment and try to remember the last time a Democratic presidential candidate won so overwhelmingly that even a deeply red state like Flordia was in play.

The year was 2012, and Barack Obama was seeking a second term in office against Republican nominee Mitt Romney. Obama wound up storming to an overwhelming electoral victory, winning 332 electoral votes to Romney’s 206.

Yet here we are a dozen years later and Vice President Kamala Harris could be on the verge of turning the Sunshine State blue once more, which would be a death knell for former president Donald Trump’s campaign, according to Newsweek, which reports that a recent poll from the state shows Trump only has a razor-thin lead as early voting begins in some states.

“A recent survey of 600 registered voters by the Independent Center and The Bullfinch Group, conducted September 20 and 23, showed Trump had a 1-point lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in Florida (48 percent to 47). The results have a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.”

Even if Trump does manage to prevail in Florida, such a close race with Harris could wind up costing him the election because it will force him to put resources into a state he should already have locked down, Thomas Gift, an associate professor of political science and director of the Centre on U.S. Politics at University College London, warns.

“Even if Harris loses Florida, which certainly looks likely, this could cost Trump elsewhere if he’s forced to devote scarce time, resources, and energy into shoring up his lead in the Sunshine State.”

Two constitutional amendments in the ballot could also boost the turnout of progressive and Democratic voters, with Floridians deciding if abortion access should be enshrined under law and marijuana legalized. Those issues have dramatically increased voter interest and turnout in other states that have put similar measures on the ballot.

Florida Democrats are placing their hopes on the Orlando area of the state, which recently elected Congressman Maxwell Frost (D-FL), the first Gen Z House member, who told the Tampa Bay Times, “The people are on our side in terms of policy but not politics. So how do we solve that? We talk about our policy more.”

This late in the 2024 election, Trump and the GOP should have Florida locked up so they can focus on battleground states such as Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Instead, they’re sweating as they see the Sunshine State continue to trend in Harris’s direction. And if that continues, Democrats could well win the biggest prize in the South, which would all but slam the door on Republican dreams of eking out a win in 2024.

‘Senile’ Trump Claims ‘Most People Don’t Have Any Idea What A Phone App Is’

If you own a smartphone, there’s a good chance that you’ve used one or more apps on that device. You probably use several of them daily to check the latest news, get sports scores, and communicate with family and friends on social media.

However, according to failed one-term ex-president Donald Trump, most Americans “don’t know what a phone app is.”

Trump made that bizarre claim Saturday evening during a campaign rally in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

While he was at it, Trump also called Vice President Kamala Harris “a mentally disabled person” and tried to blame illegal immigrants for a fly that was buzzing around the stage where he was speaking.

Speaking of immigrants, Trump slammed immigrants for using a phone app, saying “most people don’t have any idea what the hell a phone app is.”

“They have a phone app so that people can come into our country.”

“These are smart immigrants, I guess, because most people don’t have any idea what the hell a phone app is,” Trump added.

A video clip of Trump’s strange remarks was shared on Twitter/X by the Harris campaign:

It didn’t take long before laughter and mockery were aimed at Trump on social media, where many suggested the former head of state was getting more senile by the second.

Trump Blames Campaign Staffers For Fans Leaving His Rallies Early: ‘These Stupid People!’

For those of you keeping score at home, Friday, September 28, 2024 will go down in American election history as the day that failed one-term former president Donald Trump officially threw his campaign staffers under the bus, suggesting they’re to blame when his fans walk out of his rallies.

According to Newsweek, Trump blamed his campaign staff during a rally in Warren, Michigan, remarking, “The people that you see leaving? Nobody ever leaves. And when they do, I finish up quick.”

Nobody ever leaves, but he finishes up quick when they do? Is that something like the sun only shines in the daytime but sometimes it shines at night in certain parts of the world?

Not content with that convoluted bit of Trumpian “logic,” the disgraced ex-president added, “I couldn’t take pictures at the beginning so I take them at the end sometimes if I’m late, the plane gets late, you get delayed, lots of things happen there’s a little hurricane going on in Florida, as you know. “What they do is they say, ‘Oh please come up now’ at the end of my speech.”

Pictures and hurricanes. Ohhhhhh kay. Does anyone have a net we can drop over this babbling fool?

“I said, ‘Don’t do that!’ because it looks like they’re leaving,” Trump insisted, catching the eye of a person in the audience as he said, “Like your husband who owns this place. He’s not leaving — he likes Trump very much — he made a lot of money because of Trump, right? Right?”

Next was the complete trashing of his campaign staff.

“But these stupid people that are with me sometimes, they say, ‘Come on back,'” Trump said. “Thirty people, they get up and they go back and they’re all lined up waiting in the back, waiting for me to take a picture, because I couldn’t do it before, because I didn’t want to keep you waiting, because you’re much more important than the wealthy people.”

Prediction: When Trump loses in a landslide to Vice President Kamala Harris, that won’t be his fault, either. It wasn’t his fault in 2020, and losing to a black woman would be even more humiliating than his loss to President Joe Biden.

Trump staffers, prepare to be repeatedly trashed in the closing days of the 2024 election. Donnie will need someone to blame as he spirals into madness and rage.

Adviser Says Trump Would Support Setting Up ‘Menstrual Surveillance Departments’

Jason Miller is a senior adviser to the campaign of failed former president Donald Trump, and he made it clear Wednesday that if his boss happens to win the 2024 election, he will let states decide whether or not they monitor and track women’s pregnancies “so they can prosecute them for getting out of state abortions.”

During an appearance on Newsmax, Miller was asked, “[Trump] wouldn’t support monitoring pregnancies even if a state decided to do that?”

“Well, he’s made it very clear that he’s not gonna go and weigh in and try to push various states in how they want to go and set up their particular rules and restrictions. That’s gonna be up to the states,” Miller responded.

As you’d expect, Miller’s interview set off a firestorm of comments on social media, with many noting Trump clearly supports turning the United States into a real-life version of “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

Women are the single largest voting bloc in the United States. If they vote in record numbers against Trump and his dystopian hellscape, Kamala Harris will be the next president. Women will save this country.
