1/6 Committee Member: We Have ‘Voluminous’ Amounts Of Evidence On Trump’s Role In The Capitol Riots

For weeks now, failed former President Donald Trump has been lashing out at any number of things, including his former vice president, other Republicans, and even the fact that anyone would dare to investigate him for the myriad of crimes he’s accused of committing during his time in the White House and over the course of his checkered life.

What has prompted this rage? Many believe it’s because the House Select Committee on the January 6 Capitol insurrection is going to start public hearings in prime time next month.

But if Trump is as innocent as he continues to maintain, why would he be afraid of what the Jan. 6 committee has uncovered so far?

According to committee member Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), the twice-impeached should be very worried because the evidence against him is overwhelming.

Appearing on CNN, Lofgren told host Jim Acosta:

“Let me just say the call records that we got from the National Archives are voluminous. Most Americans may not realize that every call made from the White House is logged, who was called, how long did it take. Every single person who goes into the Oval Office and out is noted how long did they stay, who were they? I mean, it’s a complete record of everything about the president’s activities. You know, not in the private residences but in the West Wing, the official section. So, there’s a lot of information. There are a lot of questions, and we hope to get to the bottom of them. We, as you know, invited our colleague from Ohio [Jim Jordan] to come in and talk to us, and I think as information continues to come forward through other sources, he may feel a need to come forward and tell his side of the story.”

Acosta inquired about remarks made this week by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who admitted Republicans were indeed searching for a way to have state legislatures declare Trump the winner of the 2020 presidential election, but that required Mike Pence to declare that the election was undecided and the electoral votes would not be certified.

Lofgren replied:

“Certainly, what could he add to what he’s already just said in public? I can’t think of anything more damning than that.”

Expect all of the evidence the committee has obtained to be laid out during the upcoming public hearings. That’s what has Trump so nervous.
