After the FBI served a search warrant on disgraced, one-term former president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago golf club Monday, the ex-president immediately fired off an angry statement which read in part:
“These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents. Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before.
“They even broke into my safe!”
Oh, so there was a safe? Wonder what could have been contained in that? What exactly was the FBI looking for?
If Trump truly has nothing to hide, he could easily release the affidavit attached to the search warrant that was served by the FBI which would lay out exactly what the feds were looking for and what crimes having those items violated. The fact that he hasn’t tells you all you need to know. Namely, it tells us that Donald doesn’t want anyone to know what he’s accused of having done when he took top secret documents from the White House in clear violation of federal law.
But since we still don’t know what was in that safe, Twitter users were only too happy to speculate, and while they may not be correct, they were very often hilarious. Take a look:
