WATCH Kellyanne Conway Bristle When A Fox Host Calls GOP Health Plan ‘Trumpcare’

On Tuesday, Republicans released their long-awaited “replacement” for the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which is more often referred to as Obamacare. Based on the reaction from GOP members of Congress on the far right and several Republican senators who will be key to passing the bill, it would appear that the legislation is, to borrow a medical term, dead on arrival.

Kellyanne Conway, an adviser to the so-called American head of state, appeared on Fox News to talk about the bill with Bill Hemmer. Since the repeal and replacement of Obamacare was one of Trump’s promises, Hemmer asked if it was fair to call the GOP plan “Trumpcare.” Conway did not care for that, telling the Fox host:

“It’s the American Health Care Act, and I think it’s aptly named that for this reason. It wants to cover, it wants everyone to have access to coverage, and that is something that didn’t happen under Obamacare…I’ll call it Trumpcare if you want to, but I didn’t hear President Trump say to any of us, ‘I want my name on that.’ It’s not about branding according to someone’s name. This is serious business.”

Trump doesn’t want his name on it? But he wants his foul name on everything, Kellyanne. When did that change?

The reason Conway and other members of the Trump team don’t want his name attached to the new plan is because they know millions of people will no longer be able to afford coverage or be thrown of state Medicaid rolls because the American Health Care Act will severely cut funding for low-income and indigent care. Also, those in their 50s and 60s not yet old enough to go on Medicare will see drastic increases in their premiums, as will those in their 20s. All this so the GOP and Trump can give tax cuts to their rich friends.

Conway may not want us to call it Trumpcare, but that’s exactly what it will be known as. And it’s going to be a freaking disaster, just like the asshat it’s named after.
