Trump’s New Natl. Security Adviser: Calling It ‘Radical Islamic Terrorism’ Is Not Helpful At All

According to Donald Trump, the reason President Obama was unable to “win” the war against ISIS is because he didn’t want to use the phrase “radical Islamic terrorism.” It’s a common trope among right wingers and the Fox News morons who pretend to have the answer to every problem but really only have talking points and harebrained theories.

So you cannot help but wonder how Trump feels about a statement made by his new National Security Adviser, H.R. McMaster on Thursday.

At McMaster’s very first National Security Council meeting General McMaster said he doesn’t find the “radical Islamic terror” label to be the least bit helpful because he considers groups such as ISIS to be “un-Islamic.” This is essentially the same language used by President Obama, who commented:

“There is no doubt, and I’ve said repeatedly, where we see terrorist organizations like al Qaeda or ISIL — They have perverted and distorted and tried to claim the mantle of Islam for an excuse for basically barbarism and death.

“These are people who’ve killed children, killed Muslims, take sex slaves, there’s no religious rationale that would justify in any way any of the things that they do. But what I have been careful about when I describe these issues is to make sure that we do not lump these murderers into the billion Muslims that exist around the world, including in this country, who are peaceful, who are responsible, who, in this country, are fellow troops and police officers and fire fighters and teachers and neighbors and friends.”

It should come as no surprise that the illegitimate resident of the Oval Office is wrong on this issue, just as he is on every issue which relates to foreign policy. Keep in mind Trump said he had a “secret” plan to defeat ISIS, but here we are over a month into his administration and he has yet to announce how he will deal with terrorist organizations. Last we heard, Trump said the military was formulating a strategy for ISIS, but again, we haven’t seen anything different from what the Obama administration was doing.

Trump is a fraud and a danger to this country and the world. Even his National Security Adviser knows just how wrong he is on this issue, and he should be commended for saying so.
