The mentally deranged 35% of Americans who still slavishly support failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump have been saying for months that Democrats stole the 2020 presidential election from their tangerine lord and savior.
Now, however, some of the pro-Trumpers have begun circulating another moronic conspiracy theory: Republicans are to blame for the Donald losing in a landslide and need to be voted out of office.
At an “election integrity” rally held in Lansing, Michigan, right-wing radio host Randy Bishop told a group of Trump worshipers:
“Here’s the facts. Whoever won the presidential election in 2020 gets his butt kicked in the midterms next year. Stop and think about that! Did these Republicans and other Republicans across the country really want Donald Trump to win? No!
“We may not get an audit. You know why? They want to keep the power for themselves next year.”
If Republicans won’t give Trump an audit in every single state, Bishop continued, then they need to be punished at the ballot box:
“Tell them if they do not do an audit, you will not put up signs, you will not knock on doors, you will not give them money and you sure the hell won’t vote for them next year! If the fix is in, the Democrats are going to win anyway. Right? Because they won’t get rid of these machines.”
Bishop concluded his rant with this:
“Then guess what? Give the power to the Democrats and let them run it right into the ground and we’ll kick their ass in ’24!”
So now the Trumpers want to hand the 2022 election to Democrats? Hey, that sounds like a great idea! If Democrats win the midterms and increase their numbers in both the House and Senate, maybe voting rights legislation will finally be passed and we can relegate the GOP to permanent minority status in Washington, DC and state legislatures across the country.
