In a desperate attempt to try and counter what former First Lady Michelle Obama had to say Monday evening during the Democratic National Convention, President Donald Trump made a vain attempt at insulting Mrs. Obama and only succeeded in humiliating himself with one of the all-time great self-owns.
After sending out angry tweets aimed at the former first lady Tuesday morning, the president simply couldn’t resist trying another cheap shot at Mrs. Obama, whining at a event commemorating the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment that Mrs. Obama clearly taped her speech, CNN notes:
“Yeah, no, she was over her head. And, frankly, she should have made the speech live, which she didn’t do; she taped it. And it was not only taped, it was taped a long time ago because she had the wrong deaths.”
Did you catch that? He’s complaining that the former first lady got the number of deaths from COVID-19 incorrect because she taped her speech. So he’s whining because the death toll on his watch is even higher now. As one person noted on Twitter, that’s not exactly something Trump should be proud of:

Then others joined the debate, nearly all of them reminding Trump that the only person he humiliated with his remarks was (as usual) himself:

More than 21K Americans have died since she recorded it earlier this month.

Maybe later, Trump can complain that almost no one ever mentions anymore how he’s separated more children from their parents and terrorized more infants at his modern-day internment camps than any president in U.S. history.
