Trump Just Added A Witness Tampering Charge To His Growing List Of Crimes

The list of crimes President Donald Trump is suspected of having committed is already a lengthy one, according to former Assistant Attorney General Jimmy Gurulé, who said on MSNBC last year that he expected the following charges to be brought against Trump by federal prosecutors:

  • Obstruction of justice
  • Violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act
  • Violations of the Federal Election Campaign Act dealing with fundraising
  • Violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act
  • Violations of IRS and tax law
  • Money laundering

And now, thanks to documents given to the House Intelligence Committee by Trump’s former attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen, you can add witness tampering and suborning perjury.

CNN reports:

“Michael Cohen on Wednesday provided the House Intelligence Committee with new documents showing edits to the false written statement he delivered to Congress in 2017 about the Trump Organization’s pursuit of the Trump Tower Moscow project into the 2016 campaign season, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.”

Those edits were made in the Oval Office by Trump and his attorneys, Cohen said in his testimony before the House Oversight Committee last week, noting:

“There were changes made, additions — Jay Sekulow, for one. There were several changes that were made including how we were going to handle that message, which was — the message of course being — the length of time that the Trump Tower Moscow project stayed and remained alive.”

If those edits were indeed made in the Oval Office by the president and/or his attorneys, that’s the very definition of suborning perjury and also witness tampering. Both of those are federal crimes.

Unlike many who have made claims of criminal behavior by Donald Trump, Cohen is backing up his assertions with hard evidence. He kept the receipts — the canceled checks, the tapes, and other paperwork — that prove what he says happened. And that’s very bad news for Trump.

All of this is yet another brick in the case being built by Congressional investigators that will be used to impeach the traitorous scofflaw current residing in the White House. His downfall cannot possibly happen soon enough.
