Too Much Information: Jeb Bush Says The New Supergirl Is ‘Kind Of Hot’ (Video)

OK, it’s time to say this: The rigors of the campaign trail have quite obviously made Jeb Bush crack. Never the most charismatic or exciting person to watch, Bush may well have stepped over the line when it comes to saying things that made people feel downright weird.

During a Q&A session at the Libre Forum in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Bush was asked who his all-time favorite superhero was. His reply: Batman. So far so good, but then Jeb went all creepy/stalky strange and added a line that no one saw coming and no one wanted to hear:

“I saw that ‘Supergirl’ is on TV.  I saw it when I was working out this morning. There’s an ad promoting ‘Supergirl.’ She looked kind of — she looked pretty hot.”

Time out. Flag on the play. Did he just say that Supergirl, played by actress Melissa Benoist, looks kind of hot? That’s just plan weird.

One reporter who was covering the Bush appearance, Sabrina Siddiqui, immediately tweeted out this:

Is this the kind of thing that man wishing to be taken seriously and elected President of the United States should say out loud? Granted, he may have done it to get a laugh (he got more of a nervous chuckle from the crowd), but is that the best line he has to try and elicit laughter with?

It becomes clearer and clearer with each passing day that Jeb Bush is just marking time until his campaign finally collapses under the weight of all the misstatements and verbal flubs he has made along the way. His poll numbers are dismal–in the single digits–and he has been unable to build any momentum at all. When he does make news, it’s not for anything positive.

So when we look back on the GOP race years from now, will we be saying that Supergirl is what finally ruined Bush’s chances?

Look, up in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a plane…no it’s just the Bush campaign plummeting to earth.
