Billy Corben has been directing films for years now, but a new parody video he made featuring Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis (set to the Elton John song “I’m Still Standing” is quickly going viral and making Corben a household name.
Corben knows the state of Florida well. He was born in Fort Myers and attended the University of Miami, where he graduated with honors while majoring in political science, screenwriting, and theater. He currently lives in Miami.
One of Corben’s most recent projects was the docu-series God Forbid, which focused on the Jerry Falwell Jr. scandal that involved a pool boy and hush money payments.
However, Corben has been wanting to take on DeSantis, who is getting serious consideration as a possible presidential candidate in 2024, even though disgraced former president Donald Trump is actively working to destroy the governor.
On his “Because Miami” podcast, Corben explained why he wanted to take a crack at DeSantis.
Corben added:
After you watch the video, you’ll understand why DeSantis should be very concerned about other attack ads that will be run against him if he decides to throw his hat into the 2024 ring.
Enjoy, and feel free to share with others far and wide. The more people who hear and see the truth about DeSantis, the lower his poll numbers.
