Coronavirus Foreign Policy Joe Biden The Biden Administration U.S. Senate WTF?!

Ted Cruz Says Biden’s Vaccine Mandate Is A Conspiracy To Distract From Afghanistan

Granted, Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz has said some incredibly moronic things since arriving in Washington, but what he uncorked Sunday during an appearance on Fox News could well win some sort of award for sheer tinfoil-hat absurdity.

Specifically, Cruz told fellow conspiracy theorist Maria Bartiromo that President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate is really just an attempt to distract the public from the administration’s policy to withdraw from Afghanistan, which was actually set in place by failed, one-term former President Donald Trump:

“You put your finger on what the White House is trying to do, they want to change the topic from Afghanistan. It’s why Biden issued this completely illegal and unconstitutional vaccine mandate because he wanted to change the topic from the disaster in Afghanistan, the vaccine mandate is going to be struck down in court, they know that, but the president is defying the law because he wanted the press to start defending him and stop talking about the disasters in Afghanistan and he’s counting on a bunch of big businesses, in particular, forcing their employees to comply before the matter is ever adjudicated and before the order is struck down.”

Actually, Ted, the reason for the vaccine mandate is very simple: It’s about saving lives. You, on the other hand, are completely content to let hundreds of thousands more Americans die a horrible death from COVID-19.

Ted Cruz has long been called the most hated man in the Senate. Listen to him talk for more than two seconds and you’ll know why even his Republican colleagues in the Senate think he’s an insufferable prick.
