Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo thought he’d pick a fight with the head of the American Federation of Teachers by calling her “the most dangerous person in the world,” but wound up being humiliated when she clapped back masterfully and put him in his place.
As part of an interview with Semafor, Pompeo remarked:
“I tell the story often—I get asked, ‘Who’s the most dangerous person in the world? Is it Chairman Kim, is it Xi Jinping?’ The most dangerous person in the world is Randi Weingarten.
“It’s not a close call. If you ask, ‘Who’s the most likely to take this republic down?’ It would be the teachers’ unions, and the filth that they’re teaching our kids, and the fact that they don’t know math and reading or writing.”
Of course, Pompeo is only attacking Weingarten because he thinks he has a chance of being the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Anyone with any sense knows he doesn’t, but Pompeo needs his delusions to keep him from realizing that his life is over with as a result of his decision to work in the Trump administration. That one action has ruined his chances of ever being taken seriously.
But Weingarten was more than equal to the challenge of countering Pompeo’s posturing, and she shared her thoughts on Twitter for everyone to see.
