Jen Psaki Schools Male Reporter On ‘Choices’ After He Asks Absurd Question About Abortion

Less than 24 hours after the U.S. Supreme Court refused to strike down a restrictive Texas law which forbids nearly 85% of all abortions in the state, the Biden administration made it clear it will not sit by and allow women across the United States to be denied a right they are guaranteed under Roe v. Wade, the landmark decision handed down in 1973 which established that states may not seek to control a woman’s reproductive freedom.

President Joe Biden had this to say Thursday afternoon in an official statement:

“It unleashes unconstitutional chaos and empowers self-anointed enforcers to have devastating impacts,” Biden, a Democrat, said in a statement directing federal agencies to act to protect the right to abortion enshrined in the high court’s landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. “Complete strangers will now be empowered to inject themselves in the most private and personal health decisions faced by women.”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki also commented on the ruling by the high court, noting:

“The effort and the focus of the federal government is to look for every resource, every level at our disposal to ensure that women in Texas have the ability to seek healthcare.”

That led Owen Jensen, the White House correspondent for EWNT — The Eternal Word Television Network — to ask:

“Why does the president support abortion when his own Catholic faith teaches abortion is morally wrong?”

Without a moment of hesitation, Psaki expertly swatted down Wilson by telling him:

“He believes that it is a woman’s right, a woman’s body, her choice. He believes it is up to a woman to make those decisions and make those decisions with her doctor. I know you have never faced those choices nor have you been pregnant. But for women out there who have faced those choices, this is an incredibly difficult thing in the president believes that their rights should be respected.”

Boom! Game, set, and match, Jen Psaki.

It shouldn’t be required to teach Americans that church and state are supposed to be kept separate under our form of government. It’s enshrined in the damn Constitution! As Thomas Jefferson himself once wrote:

“Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burned, tortured, fined and imprisoned. What has been the effect of this coercion? To make one half the world fools and the other half hypocrites; to support roguery and error all over the earth.”

The Texas attack on a woman’s right to choose will backfire on the state and on Republicans nationally. It may well hand the 2022 election to Democrats at the local, state, and national level.

When it comes to the right to choose, we should leave those decisions to the women who have to make them.

VICTORY! President Obama Just Made It Impossible For Congress To Ever Defund Planned Parenthood

Right wingers and their political allies in the Republican Party just love to attack Planned Parenthood. They hold endless Congressional hearings which yield nothing but extremist lies and constantly attempt to cut funding to this provider of numerous healthcare services for women across the country.

But now the GOP obstructionists may have met their match in President Obama, who has just proposed a rule which would prevent states from defunding Planned Parenthood for political reasons.

The new rule, issued by the Department of Health and Human Services, would cut Title X funding to any state that cuts money to Planned Parenthood As reported by the Huffington Post:

“The Title X program provides basic preventive health care and family planning services for 4 million low-income Americans. About 85 percent of patients who use Title X have incomes below $23,500. Planned Parenthood serves about a third of those patients, using the $70 million a year it receives in Title X grants to subsidize contraceptives and cancer and sexually transmitted infection screenings for people who can’t afford them. Title X does not allow any money to be used to pay for abortions for any reason.

“Still, politicians in 11 states have voted to block public funds from Planned Parenthood because its services include abortion. Republicans in Congress are also on a mission to defund the family planning provider, citing a series of debunked undercover videos produced by anti-abortion activists that purport to show Planned Parenthood selling fetal body parts.”

Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, said she was thankful for the new rule:

“This will make a real difference in so many people’s lives. Thanks to the Obama administration, women will still be able to access the birth control they need to plan their families, and the cancer screenings they need to stay healthy.”

The new rule will take effect following a 30-day comment period, and it will put an end to using Planned Parenthood as a political football once and for all.

Well done, Mr. President! Well done!

Despite Video Fiasco, Indictments, GOP Still Plans To Investigate Planned Parenthood

Even though the validity of the undercover videos made by the Center for Medical Progress have been completely disproven and the two main figures behind them have been indicted by a Texas grand jury, Republicans announced Tuesday that they will move forward with continued investigation of the women’s healtcare provider.

GOP Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn issued a statement in which she said this about the select committee investigating Planned Parenthood:

“We will continue to gather information and get the facts about medical practices of abortion service providers and the business practices of the procurement organizations who sell baby body parts. These are issues of importance to the American people. We will study the laws on the books and follow the facts to defend life.”

Keep in mind that this new House committee being chaired by Blackburn was created even though a similar one chaired by Rep. Jason Chaffetz found absolutely no evidence of any wrongdoing by Planned Parenthood. Numerous state investigations have also come to the same conclusion.

Dawn Laguens, Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s executive vice president, said the now-discredited videos and continued Congressional harassment is clearly an attempt by the GOP and anti-choice foes to advance their own political agenda:

“It’s become totally clear that the only people who engaged in wrongdoing are the criminals behind this fraud. You would hope that other people who now have very clear evidence in this impartial and thorough grand jury proceeding would reconsider some of these attacks.”

Other Republican members of Congress, including Texas Congressman Brian Babin, said they were disappointed by the indictment of the videographers who shot the bogus videos:

“It’s deeply offensive and ridiculous that those who illegally sell aborted human body parts get a pass — while these two pro-life defenders are indicted for using aliases to expose Planned Parenthood’s unlawful and disgusting practices of selling baby body parts. This decision begs the question: how else could they get the truth?”

Perhaps by actually seeking and then reporting the truth, Congressman, instead of creating a fiction which was then used in an attempt to smear an organization that helps millions of women annually. How about that truth?

After Indictment Of Fake Planned Parenthood Video Makers, Right Wingers Go Nutso On Social Media

Back in 2015, when the Center for Medical Progress decided to release a series of hidden camera videos they said showed Planned Parenthood officials breaking the law by arranging to sell body parts from aborted fetuses, right wingers claimed it proved that the pro-choice community was aligned with murderers who profited off the death of unborn children.

But today, with the indictment of two members of the Center for Medical Progress in the state of Texas, conservatives are oddly silent on the latest development in the case.

Yesterday, David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt were indicted for Tampering with a Governmental Record, and an additional, much more serious charge was added to Daleiden: Prohibition of the Purchase and Sale of Human Organs.

Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson remarked:

“We were called upon to investigate allegations of criminal conduct by Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast. As I stated at the outset of this investigation, we must go where the evidence leads us. All the evidence uncovered in the course of this investigation was presented to the grand jury. I respect their decision on this difficult case.”

Don’t you know it pained him to have to announce those indictments after he had been trying to pin charges on Planned Parenthood?

Texas Governor Greg Abbot, no doubt still queasy from the big dish of crow he had just been forced to consume, would not back down, commenting:

“Nothing about today’s announcement in Harris County impacts the state’s ongoing investigation. The State of Texas will continue to protect life, and I will continue to support legislation prohibiting the sale or transfer of fetal tissue.”

And then right wingers took to social media and proclaimed the indictments to all be part of a much larger conspiracy, no doubt conceived and carried out by those they disagree with. And their number one suspect, President Obama. What a surprise! Take a look:

WTF?! Single Mother Loses Job Because She Got A Mammogram

Breast cancer is one of the biggest fears any woman faces. So when she feels what she thinks may be a lump, she naturally wants to get a mammogram as soon as possible. But in Ohio, getting a mammogram cost Jamie Crytzer her job.

Back in May, Crytzer discovered a lump in one of her breasts, noticed it was growing, and immediately called her doctor. The doctor scheduled Crytzer for a mammogram on June 15.

Ms. Crytzer told her supervisor at the Hickory Grille in Hermitage, and was granted June 15 off from work. And then just this Monday Crytzer received a call telling her that due to a cancellation she could get a mammogram later that same day.

But when this single mother told her employer, who just happens to be a woman, she was informed that if she left work to get a needed medical test, she would be abandoning her job. As Crytzer recalls:

“She just said, you know, you’re gonna do whatever you want, and this is job abandonment. She kept telling me that.”

Despite the warnings, Crytzer left and had the mammogram. The mammogram showed she did not have cancer, which was welcome news to her. But when she showed up at the Hickory Grille the next day, she learned she no longer had a job. Crytzer was devastated:

“They felt that I left them with a skeleton shift during lunch, that since they already knew that I had an appointment the following week, they felt I could have waited. It’s unfortunate. I’m sorry that I lost my job over being proactive for my health.”

Is it just me, or does it seem incredibly unfair for an employer to force an employee to choose between her job and her health? Now Ms. Crytzer is unemployed and trying to provide for herself and her young son. She posted the following on her Facebook page:

“I feel completely wronged, hurt and upset that my company had zero regard for my circumstances or my health. I am embarrassed that they downplayed the severity and brushed it off as an inconvenience. I am ashamed that I am the one who was reprimanded.”

For their part, Hickory Grille released the following statement:

“We are unable to comment on this particular occurrence, but we can say that all personnel actions taken were in complete accordance with proper personnel management. We want our community to know that we have helped many, many employees through difficult times throughout the years, and will continue to do so. We care deeply for our employees and their families. The Springfield Restaurant Group’s primary goal has always been to take care of people, both employees and guests.”

Really? Well, you sure as hell could have fooled me.
