Donald Trump Military WTF?!

Trump Managed To Make His Pathetic Veterans Day Message All About Himself

Donald Trump (a.k.a. Cadet Bone Spurs) decided he’d release a message in honor of Veterans Day 2021, but he should have gone and played golf or hidden in the nearest bunker instead of issuing what turned out to be little more than a self-serving whinefest and a pathetic attempt to remain relevant a year after he lost in a landslide to President Joe Biden.

In the 38 second video, which was posted on Twitter by his spokesperson, Liz Harrington, Trump said he wanted to pay tribute to “all of those incredible people” who “serve so well and so strong and so powerfully.”

And then came the whining:

“We love you, our nation respects you, the world respects you, and we will come back. Our country has gone through a lot. The last period of time has been very, very tough, watching what you had to watch, but our country will be back and will be back stronger than ever. Happy Veterans Day.”

It’s important to keep in mind that this is the very same Donald Trump who reportedly said that Americans who fight and die for their country are nothing but “suckers” and “losers.” And yet he he loves them? The only person Trump loves is himself. That’s all a malignant narcissist like him is capable of.

The failed, one-term, twice-impeached former president was immediately hit with furious internet backlash:

Fox News Fox News Lies U.S. Senate Veterans

Fox News Blasted For Suggesting Sen. Tammy Duckworth Improperly Used Veteran Benefits

Fox News likes to pretend they love the United States and support our men and women in the military, and yet they routinely take cheap shots at the current commander-in-chief, lie to their viewers about American foreign policy, and attack people such as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, for daring to speak his mind.

The latest proof that Fox is only interested in sensationalism comes from an article written and posted on the Fox News website by Dom Calicchio that carried this headline:

“Democrat Tammy Duckworth hasn’t paid property tax on her Illinois home since 2015, report says.”

Sen. Duckworth hasn’t paid property taxes on her Illinois home. That’s true, but the reason she hasn’t is because her state waives those taxes for disabled U.S. veterans. Duckworth lost both her legs and part of an arm while serving on active duty with the Army in Iraq. The helicopter she was piloting was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade.

Yes, the Fox article does go on to note why Duckworth doesn’t pay property taxes, but the headline is pure clickbait and gives the impression that Fox was trying to slag the senator, Mediaite notes:

“As it were, Fox’s headline blatantly suggests that Duckworth is freeloading off of her state. Between that and the article’s admission that Duckworth is a disabled veteran who qualifies for the exemption, many news observers were deeply unimpressed by the article’s apparent framing as a hit piece.”

It didn’t take long before social media lit into Fox News for their misleading headline, with many veterans being among the most outraged by what the so-called “news network” had done:

New Poll: Trump’s Coronavirus And War Dead Comments Have Further Eroded His Fading Support

The bad news keeps rolling in for President Donald Trump and his reelection campaign, with a new poll showing that not only has he been unable to make up any ground in a head-to-head matchup with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, but two recent controversies have eroded the incumbent’s support further most notably among those who voted for him in 2016.

A Yahoo News/YouGuv survey shows that the most recent setbacks for Trump– his slurring of U.S. war dead as “loser” and “suckers” and taped remarks he made to Bob Woodward about how he downplayed the seriousness of the coronavirus — have taken their toll in a very short time:

“Asked if their opinion of Trump’s coronavirus response has changed because of Woodward’s big scoop — a tape of Trump privately acknowledging the virus was “deadly stuff” even as he publicly sought, in his own words, ‘to play it down’— nearly a quarter of Americans (23 percent) say yes. Even 15 percent of those who voted for Trump in 2016 say the Woodward news has changed their mind about the president’s handling of the pandemic.

“The military story seems to have had a similar impact. Asked which candidate shows more respect for the military, 50 percent of registered voters name Biden, compared to 39 percent for Trump. By the same margin, voters say Biden would do a better job leading the military than the current commander in chief.”

Overall, Trump has lost four points to Biden since the last Yahoo poll was released just two weeks ago and now trails by a 10-point margin, 49 to 39 percent.

15 percent of those asked said Trump’s comments to Woodward made them less likely to vote for the president. 8 percent of Trump voters also revealed that they are likely to vote for Biden. Only 1 percent of Trump voters said the same thing when he faced Hillary Clinton four years ago.

Trump’s lack of empathy, crude remarks, and hardline stance on racial justice are all dragging him down with less than two months before the votes are counted. And worse for Trump is the fact that more revelations could be forthcoming, which certainly won’t help his already dismal numbers.

Fox’s Andrew Napolitano Says He Has No Doubt That Trump Called Fallen Soldiers ‘Losers’

This week’s crisis inside the Trump White House is related to Bob Woodward’s new book, which proves that the president knew exactly how deadly and contagious the novel coronavirus was but refused to fully inform the American public, which has so far led to more than 190,000 deaths from the virus, the most on the planet.

Last week, however, the administration was dealing with fallout from an article in The Atlantic which alleged that Trump had called American soldiers who died in combat “losers” and “suckers.”

The president repeatedly denied he had said any such things, but few who have heard Trump speak derisively about any number of people or groups over the past four years doubted the validity of The Atlantic’s reporting.

And now we have a longtime friend of the president, Fox legal analyst Andrew Napolitano, weighing in on the issue, and he makes it clear in an op-ed he wrote for Fox that he has absolutely no doubt Trump did indeed utter those demeaning words, noting:

“I have been a friend of Donald Trump since 1987 through the New Jersey legal community in which his sister and I were active as judges. Trump and I have also known each other through my on-air television work at Fox News. Trump enjoys a personal familiarity with many of my Fox colleagues and me. To this day, he and I speak on the phone from time to time over matters public and private.”

Knowing Trump so well for so long leads Napolitano to conclude that Trump is guilty of slurring the men and women of the armed forces:

“I provide this brief personal background as a setting for an analysis of this ‘losers’ and ‘suckers’ allegation. It appears more likely than not that he did say these things.

“I say this because — for better or worse — Donald Trump is unfiltered. He often says what first comes to his mind without thinking of the likely consequences — including the hurt — his words could produce. And he believes he can repair any hurt with more words.”

But some injuries caused by hasty words cannot be repaired with more talk. This is one of those. And even though some hardcore supporters of this president may try desperately to convince themselves that such hateful comments never left his mouth, the people who know him best have no doubt he did. That alone says it all.

Don Jr. Tries To Defend His Father For Mocking Fallen Soldiers And Only Makes Matters Worse

Yesterday we found out exactly how hollow, depraved, and cowardly Donald Trump truly is, thanks to a revealing article from Jeffrey Goldberg in which the president was quoted as referring to dead military veterans as “losers” and suckers”:

“In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, ‘Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.’ In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as ‘suckers’ for getting killed.”

As you’d expect, Trump denied he’d ever said any such thing, but there are multiple confirmations of the account Goldberg reported, so we know those words did indeed come from this president’s mouth.

But as bad as this story is for the White House, his son, Donald Trump Jr., decided to step directly into the shitstorm and make things even worse for his father and himself.

Specifically, Junior posted this tweet attacking Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, whose late son, Beau, served honorably in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps:

See what Junior is doing there? The same damn thing his father loves to do: He’s trying to shift blame. But Joe Biden isn’t the asshole accused of denigrating the service of brave American men and women. Donald Trump is.

Instead of taking the focus off his dad, Don Jr. reaped the righteous anger of thousands who responded to him on social media and reminded him what a douchebag his father is:

Here’s hoping that Junior, his father, Ivanka, Jared, and Eric can all share a cell together when they get to prison. Then maybe they’ll finally come to the realization that they’re the real “losers.”
