Tommy Tuberville May Be Illegally Serving In The Senate – Has Residency In Florida, Not Alabama

When he decided to run the United States Senate from the state of Alabama in 2000, former football coach Tommy Tuberville asserted that he owned a home in the city of Auburn, Alabama, meaning he met the residency requirements for the office he was seeking.

However, it now appears that Tuberville lied and is actually a resident of Florida, which would technically make him the Sunshine State’s third senator. That would be historic (and illegal) because the U.S. Constitution only allows for two senators for each the 50 states, according to a fascinating investigative piece from Glenn Kessler of the Washington Post.

The Alabama house in question is actually owned by Tuberville’s wife and son, neither of whom were on the 2020 ballot.

Tuberville’s office says his primary residence is an Auburn house that records show is owned by his wife and son. But campaign finance reports and his signature on property documents indicate that his home is actually a $3 million, 4,000-square-foot beach house he has lived in for nearly two decades in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., located in the Florida Panhandle about 90 miles south of Dothan.

A Florida beach house? That’s right, and his address suggests Tuberville has been lying to voters in Alabama all along, because in his official paperwork for office, he claimed the Auburn home as where he lived.

In 2018, he voted in Florida in the midterm elections, according to the Birmingham News, but he registered to vote in Alabama on March 28, 2019, a week before announcing his Senate bid. For his voter registration address, he listed as his residence a property, appraised at about $300,000, located in Auburn.

The fact that Tuberville lives in Florida but is registered to vote in Alabama also suggests the senator may have committed voter fraud on at least one occasion since we can assume he voted for himself in the 2020 election.

Oh, and then there’s the tab Tuberville is running up as he travels to his Florida beach house when he leaves Washington to return “home,” whatever that particular word means to the senator.

Tuberville’s frequent visits as senator to his home in Santa Rosa Beach can be gleaned through expenditure reports filed with the Federal Election Commission by Tuberville’s various campaign organizations and PACs. They show that since Tuberville became a senator, there have been almost monthly expenditures for travel and food in either Santa Rosa Beach or another Florida town, Panama City Beach, which is 50 miles away.

Tuberville has attempted to dismiss any criticism of having been away from Alabama for many years by claiming to be a “carpetbagger of this country.” But while that may be a cute one-liner to feed the press and public, it doesn’t address the larger issue of the senator’s blatant disregard for both state and federal election law.

At a time when Republicans continue to try and make voting more difficult — especially for people of color — in the U.S., maybe Sen. Tuberville needs to sit down and explain his own blatant hypocrisy. That, or resign immediately and run against one of Florida’s actual senators, Marco Rubio and Rick Scott.

WATCH: Mitch McConnell Freezes In Mid-Sentence – Has To Be Escorted Away By Colleagues

Something appears to be very wrong with the health of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and it was on full view for the world during a daily Senate GOP press conference today.

During his opening remarks Wednesday, McConnell uttered a couple of words and was then unable to continue any further, clearly losing the ability to talk.

The Kentucky Republican was quickly escorted away from the podium by Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) as Sen. John Thune (R-SD) took McConnell’s place at the microphone.

McConnell returned to the presser several minutes later, according to CNN’s Manu Raju and later appeared “sharp” when it was time for questions from the media.

CNN medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta said in his opinion McConnell “needs an exam…Time is critically important.”

McConnell is 81 and was hospitalized for a concussion and broken ribs after he fell earlier this year. Friends and colleagues say he has been moving with more caution (and more slowly) since the fall that caused the earlier injuries.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for Republicans to say that McConnell needs to step down from his Senate seat even though they repeatedly say President Joe Biden, 80, is unfit for office. The GOP, we’ve all seen, is little more than a collection of hypocrites collecting government salaries.

Texas Comedian Reveals Ted Cruz’s Favorite Curse Word – And It’s Even Worse Than You Can Imagine

Ted Segura is a comedian who lives in Texas, and not so long ago he says he found out that one of his neighbors is none other than Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).

Granted, that’s bad enough, but Segura recently revealed that what makes living so close to Cruz even worse is that he’s obsessed with one curse word and constantly asks him about it.

According to HuffPost, Segura spilled the dirt on Cruz in his latest special, “Sledgehammer,” which you can watch on Netflix.

“I walk past his house, he comes outside. I don’t say anything, right? But he yells out — he goes, ‘Hey, are you the comedian,’” Segura said.

After Segura confirmed his identity, the senator asked him a bizarre question without even saying “hello,” the comedian said.

“He goes, ‘Where do you think the term motherfucker comes from?’” Segura recounted.

Segura said he replied that he didn’t know, leading the senator to ask, “You think it’s from people doing that?” and ”How many people do you think do that?” ― to which Segura replied, “More than you want it to be.”

Pretty weird, huh? But Cruz refused to let it drop from there, again chatting Segura up on the word.

“He goes, ‘I thought about it. And a motherfucker is not somebody who fucks their own mom,’” Segura said. “He goes, ‘A motherfucker is someone who fucks your mom. That’s the most disrespectful thing anyone can do. So if somebody is particularly rude, you call them a motherfucker.’”

Segura said he told the senator, “Wow! I am so impressed that you put that together so quickly. I can see why you may or may not be Ted Cruz.”

Wow! That’s one hell of a story.

However, it should be noted that Segura lives in Austin. Cruz owns a home in Houston.

Also, reached for comment, Cruz denied he had ever met Segura:

“It’s utterly bizarre. I have no idea who that guy is….I’ve never spoken to the man in my life.”

Of course, we all know that Ted Cruz lies like a motherfucker, so his denial carries little to no weight.

Congress GOP Joe Biden U.S. Senate WTF?!

Chuck Grassley Says He Doesn’t Care If Bogus Accusations Against Joe Biden Are True Or Not

Just how worried are Republicans that President Joe Biden will win a second term in office come 2024? So much so that they’re now saying the quiet part out loud and admitting that they don’t give a damn if their spurious accusations against the president are true or not.

During an appearance on Fox, Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley was asked about a document in the possession of the FBI that House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) claims is proof of criminal activity by Biden when he was vice president in the Obama administration.

Lawmakers can review the document at FBI headquarters if they want, but Comer and Grassley are demanding that it be given to them, which would be a violation of Bureau policy.

“Well, it’s not good enough for me,” Grassley said. “We asked for the document a month ago, it has been subpoenaed. We’re doing the constitutional job of oversight. I have read that document. If he would read it and it is an unclassified document, he admits it exists and we aren’t interested in whether or not the accusations against vice president Biden are accurate or not. We are responsible for making sure the FBI does its job, and that’s what we want to know.”

It should be noted that Grassley refused to say what findings might be made from the document or what crime it would prove.

“If he (Wray) would read it, he would know that all the excuses he is giving us that he wants to protect sources, and that’s important to protect sources, but that’s not an issue with this document the way I read it,” Grassley claimed. “He ought to come forth. They’ve got to produce this document. They are up against what the Durham report has said about the shortcomings and political bias of the FBI this is just one more example of them not being forthcoming to the public because the public’s business ought to be public. and there is no reason for an unclassified document to be held in secret.”

Does the document prove any wrongdoing by Biden? Grassley admitted that it’s not “damning,” but added, “Let’s put it this way, there’s accusations in it. But it’s not for me to make a judgment about whether these accusations are accurate or not, it’s up to my job to make sure the FBI is doing their job, and that’s what this is all about as far as I’m concerned. Public’s business ought to be public.”

The GOP is in full spin mode because they know their savior, Donald Trump, is about to be indicted for espionage and other crimes. They want to try and chum the waters so they can suggest that anything Trump might have done are no worse than the imaginary “crimes” they want accuse Biden of committing.

It’s not just pathetic, it’s downright comical.

Congress GOP Whining U.S. Senate

Lindsey Graham Pitches A Hissy Fit Over The House Debt Ceiling Deal: ‘I Will Not Be Intimidated!’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has long been known as one of the biggest whiners in Congress, but he really outdid himself Sunday during an appearance on Fox when asked the debt ceiling agreement worked out between Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and President Joe Biden.

Graham’s main beef with the proposed legislation is that he claims it cuts military spending.

The South Carolina Republican told host Shannon Bream, “You know, number one, I respect Kevin McCarthy,” Graham said. “I want to raise the debt ceiling; it’d be irresponsible not to do it.”

“And I know you can’t get the perfect, but what I will not do is adopt the Biden defense budget and call it a success,” he complained. “Kevin said that the defense is fully funded. If we adopt the Biden defense budget, it increases defense spending below inflation. 3.2% increase in defense is below inflation.”

Graham then accused GOP supporters of the bill of “doing a great disservice to the party of Ronald Reagan.”

“I like Kevin a lot, but don’t tell me that the Biden defense budget fully funds the military,” Graham bristled. “So I look forward to the details, but if you send me the Biden defense budget to the United States Senate and declare it to the people of the United States, you will have a hard time with me.”

Unless spending on defense is increased, Graham insisted, he will not vote for the bill when it comes before the Senate.

“If you ask me now to swallow it because of the debt ceiling, you can forget it,” he remarked. “In 2011, my good friend Mitch McConnell negotiated to deal with Joe Biden that virtually destroyed the Defense Department in the name of raising the debt ceiling. Another round of sequestration, not only will I vote no, I will not be intimidated by June 5th.”

Virtually destroyed the Defense Department? Is that supposed to be some sort of joke? The one thing this country always funds above and beyond all other priorities (including children, education, food, and housing) is defense. For Graham to suggest otherwise is proof that he’s just as clueless and histrionic as ever.

Here’s the video of Lindsey clutching his pearls:
