This One Photo Proves The Rank Hypocrisy Of Those Opposed To Anthem Protests

President Trump and his moronic minions just love to say that athletes who kneel during the playing of the national anthem are somehow disrespecting the American flag and the country. That’s total BS, but Trump and his fawning acolytes cannot stand to see black men bringing attention to the issue of racial inequality in the United States.

As it turns out, those who complain so loudly about dissing the flag have their own special ways of proving that the flag is nothing but a piece of cloth.

Consider the case of this man who showed up for a game Sunday between the New England Patriots and New York Jets. He’s wearing a T-shirt which reads:

But take a look at the colorful “blanket” he’s resting his ass on. It’s the freaking American flag! How’s that for bringing honor to the stars and stripes?

The guy who took the photo of this great American asshole reports:

“Basically, me and my friend were walking around the stadium sometime during the 3rd quarter. There is a huge tv screen by the food carts right inside the stadium where people gather to watch. We went over there to check it out and we saw him spread the flag out and sit down.

“I thought it was too ironic so I snagged a picture. He sat on it for a few minutes before leaving.”

Yeah, nothing says pride and respect for all things American quite like plopping your butt down on an American flag and catching a football game. Didn’t Trump call for a protest of all NFL games? Then why is this lazy sack of crap showing up and helping to support the league by buying a ticket?

It’s enough to make you question the legitimacy of the clown in the Oval Office, who probably gets even more upset if someone doesn’t stand for the Russian flag.

Former NFL Coach Mike Ditka On Anthem Protests: There’s Been ‘No Oppression In The Last 100 Years’

Former Chicago Bears head coach and player Mike Ditka simply cannot understand why some NFL players feel a need to kneel during the national anthem as a way to bring attention to discrimination against African-Americans. After all, Ditka maintains, there hasn’t been any oppression in the United States for the past 100 years.

Ditka was interviewed by Jim Gray on Westwood One, and the vocal Trump supporter sounded like he’d just gotten his talking points and marching orders from the White House:

“I think that you have to be color blind in this country. Have you got to look at a person for what he is and what he stands for. And how he produces. All of a sudden it’s become a big dealing now about oppression. There has been no oppression in the last 100 years that I know of.”

No oppression in the last 100 years? Really, Mike? How about these facts that you conveniently overlooked:

  • In the South, an estimated two or three blacks were lynched each week in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In Mississippi alone, 500 blacks were lynched from the 1800s to 1955. Nationwide, the figure climbed to nearly 5,000.
  • Until 1965, blacks could not vote in most Southern states.
  • There was once a time in this country when African-Americans were forced to use separate bathroom facilities, go to woefully inadequate public schools, and ride at the back of buses.

The 77-year-old Ditka then added:

“I don’t care who you are, how much money you make. If you don’t respect our country, then you shouldn’t be in this country playing football. Go to another country and play football. If you can’t respect the flag and the country, then you don’t respect what this is all about. So I would say adios.”

Hey, Mike, are you aware that the flag you worship so much is nothing but a piece of cloth? It seems the flag and the anthem are being made into idols for us to all worship, which is complete bullshit. The Founding Fathers didn’t mention tests of loyalty or patriotism. And the fact that this entire matter has been stirred up by a “president” who may well have committed treason with Russia is even more galling.

Flags and national anthems are nothing but symbols. And as such, they can be ignored or rejected as each of us chooses.

Conway Gets Snippy When Fox Host Asks If Pence’s NFL Walkout Was A ‘Political Stunt’ (VIDEO)

The Trump administration’s continued hardline position regarding protests by NFL players during the national anthem is once again bringing controversy to the White House, this time due to the actions of Vice President Pence.

On Sunday, Pence attended a game between the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers at Lucas Oil Stadium. When some players knelt during the playing of the anthem, Pence walked out, part of a pre-planned stunt which cost taxpayers almost $250,000 for transportation and security.

Senior adviser Kellyanne Conway was asked about Pence’s actions during an appearance on Fox & Friends Monday morning. She said it was “outrageous, egregious, and offensive” to call Pence’s walkout a “political stunt.”

Co-host Steve Doocy seemed unwilling to accept Conway’s explanation at face value, asking:

“When did the vice president and the president talk about doing this?

“Well, they talk every day.”

Doocy then followed up by inquiring:

“So, they worked this out last week?”

Clearly upset by the question, Conway snapped:

“Hold on. They talk every day. And they certainly have talked about this issue.”

As well they should. Let them talk about it, debate it, even hold hands, pray, and sing a hymn. But when the actions of this holier-than-thou, robotic Vice President wind up costing the taxpayers a quarter of a million dollars so he can his boss can make some moronic “statement” on a matter they understand next to nothing about, don’t be surprised if more than few Americans start to wonder why their tax dollars are being used to amuse the head of state and somehow help him feel vindicated.

Trump and Pence have no regard for issues which affect the marginalized in this country: the poor, African-Americans, Latinos, women, the LGBT community. But when they start taking money out of our pockets to indulge their supercilious whims, we have every right to tell them we disagree and want them to cease and desist.

Trump Worshipers Circulate Bogus Pic Of NFL Player Burning Flag – Get Hit By Instant Karma

Looks like the pro-Trump faction in this country is getting desperate. That’s not surprising when you consider they support a man who has historically low poll ratings, is widely hated across the world, and is being investigated for possibly being a traitor.

And in a new low, even for Trumpkins, this photo began circulating online:

Wow, a player for the Seattle Seahawks burning an American flag in the locker room. Shocking! Call NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

No need, because the picture has clearly been photoshopped and is complete bullshit. Snopes immediately shot down the assertion and ran the real photo next to the fake one:

And then Twitter took over, reminding fans of the Cheeto Hitler just how pathetic they–and their president–are and always will be:

The only real surprise is that Trump himself didn’t retweet the image and try to claim it proves his point.

NFL Ratings Skyrocket After Trump Attacks National Anthem Protesters

If President Trump thought he could hurt the National Football League with his endless comments about players who choose to kneel during the national anthem, the ratings are in, and it turns out Trump’s calls for a boycott of the NFL have boosted television ratings dramatically.

The Los Angeles Times reports that ratings for pregame shows were significantly higher than before Trump began his attacks on the league. NFL pregame ratings on both CBS and Fox were “significantly higher” on Sunday when compared to previous weeks. The NFL Today on CBS managed to score its highest rating since 2010, and viewership of the games broadcast seemed to depend on the teams playing and how competitive the game was.

For example, a game between the Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Bengals went to overtime, and CBS reported an increase in viewers for that contest. In contrast, the Sunday evening game on NBC which featured the Oakland Raiders visiting the Washington Redskins was down 11 percent over the previous week.

Trump, however, continues to claim that ratings for football games are “way down,” sending out this tweet on Sunday:

Poltifact rated that claim to be “mostly false.”

Rather than drop the subject and move onto to pressing matters such as the crisis in Puerto Rico, which is still reeling from the devastation wrought by Hurricane Maria, Trump again took to social media on Tuesday morning and posted this:

Also, while TV ratings may be slightly down, Forbes notes that the increased popularity of streaming games online has also contributed to the downturn in viewers on traditional communications platforms. So while Trump may continue to pretend that he’s hurting business for the NFL, the facts contradict his assertions. As is the case with nearly everything Trump says, fiction outweighs fact.
