Trump Rages Against Merrick Garland’s Move To Unseal Search Warrant By Trying To Blame Obama

Can you guess who’s to blame for the press conference Attorney General Merrick Garland held earlier today? President Joe Biden? Nope. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi? Also incorrect.

According to failed, one-term former president Donald Trump, the guilty party in his Mar-a-Lago golf club being served with a search warrant is none other than Barack Obama.

Sounds goofy, doesn’t it? But that’s how what’s left of Trump’s mind works.

On his social media site Truth Social (also known to as Twitter for losers), the twice-impeached ex-president didn’t proclaim his innocence or even try to counter what Garland had said. Instead, he went nuclear and put it all on Obama:

“I continue to ask, what happened to the 33 Million pages of documents taken to Chicago by President Obama? The Fake News Media refuses to talk about that. They want it CANCELED!”

Trump finger-pointing is easily countered with facts, as the Washington Post explains:

As was reported back in late 2016, the Obama team was transferring the records to Chicago through the National Archives, which legally owns the documents once a president leaves office. Once the documents ultimately reached a warehouse in Chicago, the Obama Foundation was then due to pay the National Archives and Record Administration to digitize the documents. The lengthiness of that process aside, there isn’t the faintest hint of legal violations — nor does the Post’s story suggest as much.

Later, Trump posted something else regarding the situation he now finds himself in:

“My attorneys and representatives were cooperating fully, and very good relationships had been established. The government could have had whatever they wanted, if we had it. They asked us to put an additional lock on a certain area – DONE! Everything was fine, better than that of most previous Presidents, and then, out of nowhere and with no warning, Mar-a-Lago was raided, at 6:30 in the morning, by VERY large numbers of agents, and even ‘safecrackers.’ They got way ahead of themselves. Crazy!” the statement read.”

If they had been cooperating fully, there would have been no basis for a judge to sign off on the search warrant. But he did, meaning there was probably cause and once again Trump is lying.

In true racist fashion, Donald Trump is still trying to blame the black guy he accused of not being born in the United States, proving that bigots never change their tune. Instead, they just rearrange some of the lyrics to fith the situation.

Trump Could Release His Copy Of The Search Warrant But Won’t – Legal Experts Say That’s Fishy

When the FBI served a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago on Monday, they were required to leave a copy of the warrant and a full inventory of all items they took with them when they left the premises.

That warrant and inventory are now being held by former president Donald Trump, but he isn’t releasing either one, even though to do so might help bolster his assertion that he’s done nothing wrong.

Legal experts are weighing in on the matter, and they say it’s incredibly fishy that Trump hasn’t shown the warrant and inventory to the media.

Former Dept. of Justice Inspector General Michael Bromwich, who also worked as Asst. U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, had this to say:

“Trump has the search warrant, specifying the crimes being investigated, and the inventory of the items seized.

“He has chosen not to share those items publicly although he is free to do so.”

Former U.S. Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal noted on MSNBC:

“Donald Trump, you have a copy of the warrant. It explains what they were looking for, what statutes they think were violated, what judge signed off on that…If you believe this is such an abuse, release the warrant and let us decide for ourselves.”

Richard Stengel, a former U.S. Under Secretary of State, agreed with Katyal:

“Trump now has the search warrant and the inventory of what was taken in his possession. If this raid was so egregious and unjustified, why not release them?”

Marc Elias, an attorney for the Democratic National Committee also suggested that Trump release his copy of the warrant:

The longer Trump refuses to release his copy of the search warrant, the more you can assume it does indeed incriminate him and spell out exactly what the FBI was looking for. If those facts become public knowledge, it would seem, Trump knows his goose is cooked and he can no longer stir up his base.

So, Donald, show us the warrant and inventory, or else we get to assume you’re guilty as homemade sin.
