Donald Trump WTF?!

Trump Claims Confederate General Robert E. Lee Would Have Won A ‘Total Victory’ In Afghanistan

On Wednesday, a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee was taken down in Richmond, Virginia, which was once the capital of the Confederacy, and failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump was livid, issuing a statement in which he called the move a “desecration.”

Of course, that’s complete bullshit. Robert E. Lee was a traitor to his country, a man who fought to overthrow the elected government of the United States over the issue of slavery. Truth be told, Trump would probably love to be able to own slaves.

Trump also praised Lee by saying, “(Lee) is considered by many Generals to be the greatest strategist of them all” and called him “perhaps the greatest unifying force after the war was over, ardent in his resolve to bring the North and South together.”

If Lee was such a great general and strategist, why did he lose the Civil War so badly? All the strategy in the world didn’t help him defeat Ulysses S. Grant and the Northern army. Truly great commanders win wars.

But it was what Trump claimed next in his “official statement” that will leave you shaking your head. Check this out:

“If only we had Robert E. Lee to command our troops in Afghanistan, that disaster would have ended in a complete and total victory many years ago. What an embarrassment we are suffering because we don’t have the genius of a Robert E. Lee!”

Would Robert E. Lee have sent his Secretary of State to make a peace deal with the Taliban the way Trump did? Would Lee have claimed to have “bone spurs” to avoid serving in military?

That was all it took for Rep. Conor Lamb (D-PA), a former Marine who served in the Middle East, to weigh in on the matter:

Sorry, Donald, but praising Robert E. Lee won’t change the fact that you lost both Georgia and Virginia last November. You’ll always be a loser.
