Police in America WTF?!

Fox News Guest Says Black Americans Are Trying To Get Killed By Cops To Make Money

With all of the media attention being focused on the guilty verdict against former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin for his killing of George Floyd, you may have missed one of the more outrageous takes on the matter that appeared on Fox News, where truth is always secondary to right-wing propaganda.

On Laura Ingraham’s show, it was suggested that black Americans are trying to get cops to attack and kill them so they can make money off it.

Former police officer Brandon Tatum told Ingraham:

“And these political pundits, these political talking heads, they want you to fight the police. They want you to be killed so they can make all this money, they can promote it on the news, they can get a payout with the family, and you’re going to be dead as a doornail. And I don’t know why we continue to let these people destroy our country and push this rhetoric. I wish that we could come to a balance and say there’s things to be improved on both sides. Let’s work together to make it happen. But, unfortunately, money, it talks way too loud for people to listen to basic rhetoric.”

A cop kneels on the neck of an unarmed man for nine minutes and things need to be improved “on both sides”? That’s not only absurd, it’s also offensive to anyone who has ever lost a loved one to police violence.

Using Mr. Tatum’s deeply-flawed logic, we can also put forth this proposition: The police are beating and killing innocent people because they want the publicity and so they’ll get promoted.

Tatum added:

“Nowadays it pays to be a crook. It pays to be a thug because if you can’t pass down money to your family by getting killed by another black man — if you get killed by a cop you get $27 million paid to your family and another $20 million on GoFundMe. So this is becoming a trend. People are trying to go viral losing their lives.”

Money and viral videos. According to Brandon Tatum, that’s what all of this is about. It’s just cash and clicks. It has nothing to do with being outraged by police brutality, and how dare you complain about the cops killing whoever they want to!

Leave it to Fox News to try and trivialize the death of George Floyd. They’re experts at every dark art imaginable.

Police in America Right Wing Morons Social Media

Right-Wingers Calling For #BlueFlu Walkout By Cops To Protest Chauvin Guilty Verdict

Remember how conservatives and right-wingers tried to accuse progressives who were calling for reform in law enforcement of want to “defund the police”? Campaign ads were run during the 2020 presidential election suggesting that if Joe Biden was elected, you’d call the cops for help and no one would show up because the police force had closed due to a lack of funding.

So it’s especially ironic that some of those same people are now showing what massive hypocrites they are and urging cops across the country to call into work sick to protest the guilty verdict handed down Tuesday against Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer who was convicted of second-degree murder and faces as much as 40 years in prison.

Shortly after the jury handed down their verdict, social media began lighting up with calls for a massive case of #BlueFlu, which, if it took place, would endanger the lives of Americans everywhere.

Take a look at some of the postings:

So now the police are supposed to refuse to do the jobs they’re paid to do?! Sounds like the usual flawed logic/bullshit that always emanates from those on the right.

Right-wingers are the biggest hypocrites and fools on the planet. Do you supposed they’d still be so pro-cop if a police officer had murdered one of their loved ones?

‘Trust Fund’ Jared Gets Shredded For Whining About The NBA Strike In Response To Kenosha Shooting

In the wake of the shooting of Jacob Blake by police officers in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the National Basketball Association canceled all playoff games that had been scheduled for Wednesday evening, and both the Los Angeles Lakers and L.A. Clippers have reportedly voted to quit the playoffs altogether.

But according to senior White House adviser Jared Kushner, the players should consider themselves “fortunate” that they’re wealthy enough to stop working if they choose to.

Appearing on CNBC Thursday morning, Kushner remarked:

“The NBA players are very fortunate that they have the financial position where they’re able to take a night off from work without having to have the consequences to themselves financially.”

Kushner’s comments set off a firestorm of angry responses on social media, with many people reminding Jared that the only reason he has money is because he inherited it from his daddy:

Hopefully, after November 3 Jared, Ivanka, and the entire Trump crime family will be on their way out of the White House and headed for prison.

Abuse of Power Donald Trump Racism The Trump Adminstration

Trump And His Senior Advisers Celebrated The Tear Gassing Of Protesters In D.C.

On Monday evening, not long after Donald Trump made the decision to have police use tear gas, flash-bang grenades, and other force against peaceful protesters in Lafayette Park, the president and his entourage made their way to St. John’s Church so he could hold up a Bible and pretend he gave two fucks about religion or the teachings of Christ.

But once Trump was back at the White House, he and some of his senior aides were celebrating what they had just done, no doubt delighting in their bringing the United States even closer to fascism.

According to Jonathan Swan of Axios:

“One senior aide was exuberantly telling friends the photograph of (Trump) holding a Bible in front of the church that had been attacked by vandals was an ‘iconic’ moment for the president.”

Even more disturbing is that the violent paramilitary attack on the protesters in the nation’s capital was planned and conducted so the president could try and counter reports that last Friday he’d been taken to an underground bunker by the Secret Service when protests neared the White House. That led to embarrassing hashtags (#BunkerBoy, #BunkerBitch) being spawned on Twitter, reportedly enraging Trump:

“A number of people reached out directly to the president or his top aides to tell them, with great urgency, that he needed to be seen. They saw signs on Twitter that the conservative base was turning against him, with the question: ‘Where is Trump?'”

In other words, it was all about the optics. Don’t like the narrative? Change it with some iron fist policing that will refocus the nation as they also recoil in horror.

But not everyone inside the administration was pleased with the show of force that felt to many Americans like Trump had just declared war on the populace:

“A senior White House official told Axios that when they saw the tear gas clearing the crowd for Trump to walk to the church with his entourage: ‘I’ve never been more ashamed. I’m really honestly disgusted. I’m sick to my stomach. And they’re all celebrating it. They’re very very proud of themselves.'”

They were celebrating and proud of having attacked a group of peaceful protesters who simply want to see positive change in their country! Donald Trump met hope with hatred. And in doing so, he further alienated himself from the vast majority of the voters who will decide his fate in just five months.

Trump may have have held aloft a Bible on Monday at St. John’s, but his actions were pure evil.

Tone-Deaf Melania Gets Slammed For Tweeting ‘There’s No Need For Violence’ In Minneapolis

There are times when it’s wholly appropriate for a First Lady to speak out on issues that concern the nation. As a matter of fact, a presidential spouse can often reach a larger audience than a head of state, if only because they don’t speak as often.

But that isn’t the case with remarks First Lady Melania Trump made Friday on Twitter regarding the outpouring of rage on the streets of Minneapolis, Minnesota, regarding the death of George Floyd, who was killed by a police officer who placed his knee on the victim’s throat for what we know now was almost nine minutes.

Mrs. Trump posted this on her Twitter account:

That’s all well and good, but keep in mind the tweet comes just a few hours after her husband suggested shooting looters in Minneapolis. The president made that statement on Twitter, too, and was so inflammatory that the social media platform hid it and placed restrictions on any retweeting of the post. Here’s a screenshot of Trump’s tweet, along with the notice Twitter placed on it:

Given that hateful tweet, Melania’s saying there’s “no reason for violence” rang incredibly hollow and tone-deaf for many, and they let her know it in no uncertain terms:

There’s no need for violence, Mrs. Trump? Wonder if you’d feel that way if someone you loved was pleading “I can’t breathe” and was slowly strangled to death by a cop. Pretty safe to bet you’d be outraged and calling for blood. So spare us your hypocrisy. Just sit down right over there and instead of “be best,” just “be quiet.”
