MT Greene Slams Matt Gaetz For Siding With ‘Filthy’ Liberals Against Her ‘National Divorce’ Plan

Though they were once thick as thieves in the House of Representatives, it now appears that Republican Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Matt Gaetz of Florida are on the outs.

On Wednesday evening, Gaetz appeared on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show and made it clear that he disagrees with Greene’s call for a “national divorce” in which red and blue states would separate and go their own ways, even though such a plan is both illegal and impossible according to the U.S. Constitution.

Gaetz told Ingraham:

“I’m not for a national divorce, but I do think the federal government should have to spend the night on the couch for a while. I believe that the best pushback is a national renewal, not a national divorce, something that Marjorie Taylor Greene is certainly helping to inspire.”

A clearly angry Greene fired back at Gaetz on Twitter, suggesting that he was siding with “filthy liberals” to subvert her ideas.

“There is a failure for many to realize Americans are giving up because they are sick of the talking heads that just complain about all the problems and politicians that never fix anything, while the right just keeps taking the beatings and abuse from the left. Yes, the red California that gave us Reagan is gone and that was another time long ago. CA is now like a weird communists country. Yes NY gave us Trump, but Trump left NY because of how bad and blue NY is and NY is so political and corrupt now they are actually trying to throw Trump in jail. Yes VA flipped red with Youngkin but it was bc parents were fed up with their school boards and a trans raped girls in the girls bathroom, but Loundon county is still unchanged, so really how red is VA?”

Greene concluded her online rant with this:

“And Matt Gaetz is right when he says our government constantly cheats on it’s own people with foreign countries and America First policies is the marriage counseling we all need. Reducing the power & size of the federal government and giving more to the states in order to protect ourselves and our kids from the abusive left is actually the bold action that needs to be taken in order for the left to be able to realize how insane and abusive they have become. Just like the prodigal son, once the left gets to truly live in their own filth they have created without us, then they will be able to realize the error of their ways. Until then, most of us don’t want to be forced to accept and live in their filthy abusive ways with them anymore.”

Instead of a national divorce, it sounds like Gaetz and Greene need couples counseling, though Gaetz will probably spend most of his time in counseling fantasizing about going to the high school prom and scoring with all the underage girls while Marge contemplates how many men she can sleep with in one night.

Gaetz Facing Blowback After Inviting Accused Murderer To Lead Pledge Of Allegiance At House Hearing

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is facing major blowback after inviting a constituent accused of a brutal murder to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at a hearing of the House Judiciary Committee.

The Daily Beast reports that Gaetz and his staff are in damage control mode after letting Corey Beekman, a U.S. Army National Guard combat veteran, do the honors of leading the committee in the pledge even though he allegedly killed a Michigan man.

In 2019, Beekman allegedly shot and killed 33-year old Billy Buchanan inside a home in rural Mason County, Michigan, and was arrested by police after a lengthy standoff. He was later charged with murder, but his case still has not yet gone to trial, and he moved to Florida.

For Buchanan’s family, the pain of losing Billy has been compounded by the failure of his case to be resolved in court—and it was compounded even further by seeing his alleged killer appear in full military dress as an honored guest on Capitol Hill.

“It was like getting a dagger stuck in our heart again,” said Denita Buchanan, Billy’s mother.

Could it be that Gaetz’s office neglected to do a Google search and/or background check on Beekman before extending the invitation? Apparently so.

It appears Beekman was first connected with Gaetz when he reached out to his congressman’s office for assistance. Gaetz explained himself by arguing that when a veteran contacts his staff, “our first thoughts aren’t, ‘let’s run a background check’ or ‘I wonder if this person had any run-ins with the law that might make someone look bad.’”

So if Jeffrey Dahmer or Ted Bundy had been veterans, Gaetz would have let them lead the Pledge of Allegiance in a congressional hearing because he didn’t want to make them look bad?

Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole … “A simple Google search, I thought,” would have given Gaetz the necessary background on Beekman.
“I do understand that our federal elected officials are probably being pulled in a lot of different directions, and a lot of them don’t get good intelligence info for a variety of different situations going on,” Cole said. “That being said, in this particular case, I was disappointed with the decision that was made.”

Gaetz is already trying to make it seem as if his glaring mistake never actually happened, deleting a tweet in which he referred to Beekman as a hero, along with a YouTube video of the accused killer leading the pledge at the committee hearing. However. that video is still available on C-SPAN.

GOP Congresswoman: Matt Gaetz Wanted To Be Here Tonight ‘But He Couldn’t Find A Babysitter – To Be His Date’

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) was in rare form Wednesday evening at the annual Washington Press Club Foundation Congressional Dinner, making brutal jokes about Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, disgraced former president Donald Trump, and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who has been accused of sexually trafficking an underage girl.

Mace began by poking fun at McCarthy and Trump, making reference to all of the compromises and other concessions the Speaker had to make just to win his job.

“I haven’t seen someone assume that many positions to appease the crazy Republicans since Stormy Daniels.”

But it was what Mace said about Gaetz that drew the most laughter.

“Well, let’s be honest. We all knew that Matt Gaetz would never let the (Speaker’s) vote get to 18.
“I do have a message from Matt this evening. He really, really wanted to be here tonight, but he couldn’t find a babysitter to be his date.”

The South Carolina Republican even managed to joke about her party’s participation in the January 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection, telling those gathered at the dinner:

“In closing, with all the media in the room tonight, I want you to know I take nothing you write about me seriously or personally. I used to work at a Waffle House, and whatever you dish out, I’ve dished out far, far worse. And I know everyone thinks Republicans aren’t funny, but if you get a bunch of us together, we can be a real riot.”

This isn’t the first time Mace has laid a burn on Gaetz. Just last month, she had to say:

“Matt Gaetz is a fraud. Every time he voted against Kevin McCarthy last week he sent out a fundraising email. What you saw last week was a constitutional process diminished by those kinds of political actions. I don’t support that kind of behavior.”

Jim Jordan And Matt Gaetz Get Burned To The Ground Over A ‘Pledge Of Allegiance’ Amendment: Video

The House Judiciary Committee held its first hearing Wednesday since Republicans took control of the lower chamber of Congress, ostensibly to discuss the U.S.-Mexico border, but it quickly devolved into an attempt by Republicans on the committee to prove they’re more patriotic than their Democratic colleagues.

Business Insider reports that committee member Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) recommended a change of the Judiciary Committee’s rules which would mandate beginning each meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Rep. Gerry Nadler (D-NY) the ranking Democrat on the committee rightly noted why he felt no such change was needed, remarking:

“I would oppose it simply on the grounds that, as members know, we pledge allegiance everyday on the floor,” said Rep. Jerry Nadler of New York, the highest-ranking Democrat on the panel. “And I don’t know why we should pledge allegiance twice in the same day to show how patriotic we are.”

That led Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) to suggest that language should be added to the amendment that would specifically ban insurrectionists from leading the pledge, an obvious dig at Gaetz and committee chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH). Gaetz sought a pardon from failed one-term former president Donald Trump for his role in the January 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection and Jordan was in contact with Trump via telephone prior to and during the attack on Congress.

Cicilline explained his rationale:

“If we adopt this amendment, then we will be truthful in representing that stating this pledge is an affirmation of your defense of democracy and the Constitution. It’s hard to take that claim seriously, if in fact, an individual who in any way supported an insurrection against the government of the United States is allowed to lead the pledge.”

Cicilline’s amendment didn’t pass. Gaetz’s did. But the Rhode Island Democrat still managed to make his point and troll his GOP colleagues to their faces.

WATCH Matt Gaetz Get Cold Busted By Ari Melber For Lying About Asking Trump For A Pardon

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) got reminded of allegations that he tried to obtain a presidential pardon from disgraced ex-president Donald Trump and presented with the receipts by MSNBC host Ari Melber during a Monday appearance on The Beat.

Melber made reference to a December 2020 meeting at the White House where Trump discussed strategy with top advisers for how they could successfully overturn the results of the presidential election which was won by Joe Biden. He then asked Gaetz what he had suggested Trump do about the election. The Florida Republican replied, “Nothing. I was seeking to understand the process because this was unprecedented.”

Melber: “Did you hear anything in that meeting that you considered unconstitutional or illegal?”

Gaetz: “No.”

The host then inquired, “Then why after that meeting did you seek a pardon for yourself and others who attended that meeting?”

That’s when Gaetz began suggesting he never did any such thing:

“That’s been misreported What I’ve suggested is that there were various groups of people that President Trump was considering pardoning for a variety of reasons, and I was very involved in a number of pardon negotiations.”

Melber brought out the receipts, citing testimony given under oath to the Jan. 6 House Select Committee:

“They all testified under oath that you specifically requested a pardon,” he said, before playing snippets of testimony, including from former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson. and former White House senior adviser Eric Herschmann.”

Gaetz went into full spin mode:

“Cassidy Hutchinson is a known liar. There’s testimony she’s given that directly results in perjury. So, I would certainly take exception with her testimony. I do not remember it the same way Eric Herschmann does. I did have conversations with Eric Herschmann about different groups of people that could potentially receive pardons, even including some of the people who may have committed a technical violation of federal law but that weren’t engaged in violence on Jan. 6.”

The congressman then suggested that he only sought pardons for others, not himself:

“I had a lot of conversations with [former White House Presidential Personnel Office Director John] McEntee about pardons for other folks and different groups of people. Whether or not some lawmakers would’ve fallen within those groups, I think, you know, could be debated and discussed. But when it comes to, you know, was I asking for something specifically for me and only me under those circumstances? The answer would be no.”

It should be noted that Gaetz also reportedly sought a pardon from Trump for allegations that he had sex with an underage girl and took her across state lines in direct violation of federal law.
